This may sound lame... but what if UNL passed out black "power towels" to whirl around when the defense is on the field. I think it would have a much better effect than having everyone wear black. Yet, still be able to support our defense in a different fashion.

Could you imagine an LJS writer not knowing what Ganz looked like? If that happened here, I could imaging people declaring Shenanigans, while standing outside the writers house with pitchforks and torches!

Nuts...I got a little excited....

I don't say much and i lurk a lot... This defense has proven that, as a unit, these guys deserve to be wearing blackshirts before Virginia Tech. These players play with much more passion and fire than any time I've seen in the last several years. Although, this was NMS's 1st game, they were also a proven top-notch offensive team with several returning starters from last year. These young fellas have earned their right to wear blackshirts. I see posters nickle and dime the penalties here, missed assignments there. Every team from every season makes them. Even our championship defenses made mistakes...otherwise the other teams would have never scored any points. In all phases, our team played very good football for the majority of the game. Bring on Virginia Tech, they have a very hungry team waiting for them and we have 2 weeks to prepare.

No kidding. I was 12 at the time. I remember all of my family members saying the earth quit spinning because we lost to then-nobodies Florida State. Funny how things turn out.

At least the tails aren't as bad as the cornheads...I'm a diehard, but I'll have to lose a bet to wear one of those. I must admit though, I did go WTF!, when I saw those hanging from the trunk on the way to Columbia last year. Good post Truman, good luck in Lincoln this year. I know the game will be much better to watch than last year's atrocity. Go Big Red!

I love Doc as a coach. I hope he'll be able to get more guys like this in future classes. If that happens, we'll see Husker Hoops back in the Dance ... and maybe do more than just show up.
