Whatever. The bottom line is that the BCS system sucks! This year illustrates better than any other that this system will never produce an outright champ. We need some sort of playoff system no doubt. If we had one, Mizzou, KS, and OU would all still have a reasonable shot at it.

I, too, am now on the Pelini bandwagon. My first choice was Turner Gill, however, Bo is the one that Tom picked and I trust Tom. I was very impressed by the fact that Bo shared how he has grown. His passion for football was a scary point for me because I didn't feel like we needed someone who was going to go ballistic on the sidelines. The interview showed that he has grown. He answered some very tough questions and did so in a straight forward manner and somewhat shrewdly in my opinion. Bo also gave us a new name. We are no longer 'Husker Nation' but 'Husker Family' I like that much better. Welcome Home Bo. Best wishes for a new career. Ok. So he shouldn't have called Bill S. an Assh*le on national TV. It was not a smart decision to express it out loud. That being said...he was factually accurate . Coaches, sales managers, and bosses of all types have said for years that it's MUCH easier to pull someone with enthusiasm back than it is to try and fire someone up who has no enthusiasm. We probably will get some 15-yarders because of him, but Bo is going to be a great coach.

Yes we do! This is going to prove to be one excellent decision. Just wait until we start seeing all the old Huskers back around the program like they used to be. '08 is going to be exciting.

Well, the media's job is to report the news, not to generate buzz or excitment. Most news outlets take that responsibility seriously -- a few, like Fox News, do not. Like Fox News? :laughpound :laughpound :laughpound Yeah...the major networks don't generate buzz or spin anything do they? Oh, Lord. Sorry - just made me giggle....a lot. Bottom line - we'll never know what was said in the LSU locker room for 100% sure...but who cares? Looks like he's coming.

AMEN! I think the fans somehow get the impression that we somehow have to approve. Ultimately - by choosing to buy tickets & support the program, I guess we do get a vote of sorts collectively. It's TO's choice - and I for one trust his knowledge of the subject much more than I trust mine. So let's all just enjoy the ride...Bo will be fine.

Being from NE or having NE ties doesn't qualify anyone as a football expert. I do understand the spirit of what you're saying. The tradition we've all been accustomed to for decades etc. The Devaney to Osborne eras were an wonderful anomoly....as the brief Solich era taught us. We are not going to be able to roll from coach to coach internally anymore. Pelini at least has some experience here. He "gets" us, was very well liked, was a hellatious motivator, and knows the game. We'll have to wait & see if it's true, but some of the names being thrown around with his like Sanders and Cotton provide plenty of NE history/ties. Maybe not overnight, but I think this will prove to be a good choice. BO KNOWS DEFENSE!

Well if you want to get technical, he won the total vote however, Bush won the electoral vote! Which is how we score presidential elections in this country. GAWD that's a tired old whine. It's the football equivalent of saying you won a game because you scored five times kicking field goals - and the other team "only" scored three touchdowns...so you scored more. But I digress... BO! And if Marvin Sanders comes with him....SAAAAA-WEEEEEET! Marvin was on my NU Freshman team back in '86 although I doubt he'd remember me. He was a good guy, a very good player - and is an even better coach. I love Turner, but gotta admit....I'm psyched!!!!!!
