  1. Oh, sorry you must have this message board confused with the fantasy message boards where everyone agrees with each other, never complains and there's always a happy ending. Wake up Dorothy, unless I'm completely naive what you've described is the actual purpose and idea of a message board. The point of a message board is to discuss football. Its hard to do that with all of your guys' spam all over. They offer nothing to the board but junk. Don't be ridiculous, there are plenty of other topics for you to read. Obviously the "start Green" topic is the most popular right now, but the best thing about this board is, you're more than welcome to start your own insightful topics any time you want, this just doesn't happen to be one. I agree with what ya C-4.. or what I think your trying to say... in that it'd be nice to actually discuss football instead of having to scroll through numerous threads with heads hitting the wall or palms over the face.. there are way too many people not interested in not discussing football and have nothing better to do with there time then put the clickable smilies into a thread and add nothing to a conversation Wouldn't expect anything less out of ya.. way to not let me down
  2. I absolutely agree with that post and hope that is what the actual thought process was. Also, I love how in every thread about the Qb situation someone brings up how the posters on here know more then the coaches... GIVE IT UP... no one is claiming to know more.. just putting there opinions out there

  4. This is getting old. Kind of like the lack of production from our offense
  5. Not knowing what the purpose of a message board is about could be considered Pathetic...
  6. The topic should be changed to how old is RedGrixxer?? my guess 15...
  7. Both those guys sucked. You guys are all missing the point, I'm not taking sides against Lee or Green, I'm only suggesting that since Lee hasn't looked good against anybody outside of the sunbelt conference and you burned Green's redshirt why not give the him a start to see what he can do. That's it. In my opinion Lee hasn't proven that he's any more ready to run the show than Green is. Bo has created this problem himself and since they're both on scholarship next year too, he might as well get used to these threads. HuskerT I agree with ya man... it a tough spot were in thats not gunna go away exept with wins and solid play from the position... I really hope Lee can get something going and carry it through to the Oklahoma game.. its just that I don't see it happening...
  8. Atleast Green came into the TT game and made some plays and moved the ball. Green was also thrown into a tough situation and did fairly well for a true freshman. Took some gambles and provided a spark. My biggest problem with the coaching staff is not that they burned the redshirt but why even stick Green in during the 3rd quarter and then again in the 4th and insist that there is no question on who the QB is? I just don't see how the staff does this, then doesn't expect a controversy? And then not even give Green a series in the next game? His moves just don't make sense..
  9. See zoogies post. I was gonna say the same thing until i read that... how can you blame lee for putting the ball where gilleylen can catch it and not the defenders? be objective here. if that's green throwing that same pass, you think its gilleylens fault. The last one can be put on zac, but they had very little time, and 3rd down, just trying to make a play. If a guy puts 80% of his balls on the money and throw 1 pick that is his fault, you're going to be a pretty damn good football team. See Texas. All I was saying is that when you throw a ball behind and high of a receiver it is not all on the receiver.. any Qb would own up and say that it was a poor throw.. Yes I also believe that it could have been brought in but it wasn't... but once again you put it high and behind more then likely it ends up being an int.. As to other posts about being one sided, I came into the season laughing at a couple guys on this board saying Green would be starting this season... but how much more evidence do u need that Lee just doesn't have it? I'm convinced.. but would love for my opinion to be changed by a strong end of the season.
  10. I'm sure even after that disaster that Lee will still "grade out pretty well" or possibly "manage a perfect game"
  11. The Keller/Ganz thing is probably not exactly relevant. Callahan was calling the shots then. Bo and Watson are calling the shots now. What?? How is it NOT relevant? Its the same OC that Bo claims to have complete confidence in and pretty much runs all the aspects of the offense.. including pt. Also, Keller and Lee are very very similar in they way they play.. love the check down, can't throw across the middle, and overrated running ability.
  12. He defiantly wasn't the only reason we lost but I think he should shoulder some of the blame when 3 of the 8 turnovers were on your behalf... Gillelyens was still high and behind him.. you can argue till your blue in the face but he threw 3 ints.. all were poorly thrown balls..
  13. You seriously believe that? Bo's philosophy is OBVIOUSLY building for the future. Look at the way he redshirted all those linebackers last year. Green was a raw passer running a simple offense in HS. He's got a long way to go before we just toss him in the fire. So we didn't toss him in the fire by putting him in a game that we were behind in and threw it on practically every down?? And that game was his first against a BCS conference school??
  14. Nothing new... just typical ESPN trying to attract an audience by sparking rumors and leaving them unanswered or completely unfounded
  15. I don't think anybody is claiming to know more then the coaches... I just personally believe that they are putting way to much stock into the way Zac Lee practices.. because he clearly isn't the same player in practice that he is in the game. I've said this many times on this board that there are difference between practice players and gamers... and Zac Lee is clearly not a gamer... And another thing that most people who are calling for Green to start is that we may as well build for next year and the future. Apparently that isn't Bo's philosophy.. is anyone saying they know more, no. Its just that I disagree with his decisions. Everyone will differ on there opinions and I think that Bo is just flat wrong in how much weight he puts on how well Lee performs in practice.
  16. Wow.. Really?? The "its just a game" quote coming from the guy with the sign. line at the bottom that reads something to the effect.. that when you die your ghost lives in the hallways of Memorial stadium.. just a game huh?? what a joke man Lee and Watson should not be offended... if it does then they aren't the right people for a job in a position of leadership...
  17. too bad its true. This statement is a JOKE. If we put in Green, our QB will be more talented, but more inept at running the team at the moment, making him worse. Hey guys guess what? ZAC LEE OUTPLAYED TODD REESING THIS WEEKEND. I don't get your logic.. maybe i'm missing something... green is more talented but still worse then lee which means we still have the worst Qb? is that what your saying?? and really... Lee out played Reesing?? They both had 3 ints but Reesing atleast had a touchdown.. (a rushing one).. I don't think I need to even discuss the type of TD droubt Lee currently finds himself in
  18. I put all three ints on Lee. The one to McNeil was tipped and ended low and behind.. he had no chance of catching it but can't fault him for reacting to it. The other was high and behind... the receivers got a hand on the ball which would have been brought it with a great catch but still they were poorly thrown balls... Ok, I give you that the first one probably shouldn't have been thrown in the first place because it was tipped at first. But that was the flukiest interception I've ever seen. I'm still amazed that the ball never hit the ground. Oh, and I'm about 98% sure that the dude's knee was on the ground when he got control of it. Agree on the 1st one being lee's "fault" but as said, it was one of the flukiest plays i've seen in person. seems to be the way this streaks going..... But DRAINO, the one to Gilleylen? really? how is that a poorly thrown ball? a little high? God forbid a receiver has to jump for a ball... God forbid a QB puts the ball where the receiver can catch it, not the defenders... that pick is solely on Gilleylen... and the the OP... thread is a joke. because if you think we're going 5-7 with lee, we're gonna do the same thing with Green. He's the backup, he needs to get snaps in case the starter gets hurt. Last year, people were ripping Pelini because he didn't play Witt/Lee whoever was the #2... this year they are complaining that if Green isn't getting the starting job, why is his shirt gone? Green may be the more talented QB, but Lee did plenty of things to win this weekends game, the reasons we didnt, well no reason to go into em. Even some of the bigger Green supporters say that this game wasn't Lee's fault.... Oh yeah I agree the first was a fluky interception.. bounced off 4 guys.. but the thing is Lee still tried throwing it over a defender that got tipped.. very similar to his last int across the middle the pass to gilleyan was high and behind and yeah still should have been caught.. but thats a cardinal sin for a Qb to leave your receiver out to dry coming across the middle... I think I can speak for most of the people calling for Lee to be benched in favor of Green in that our record will probably be the same no matter who starts so why not start to build for the future.. Lee just doesn't do enough to win ball games.. and most believe that yeah Green's a freshman and will make mistakes but we will take those over inconstancy and possible big play/home runs that Green brings to the table... No matter what the coaches see in practice Lee just doesn't play the same way in games... the dude just isn't a gamer.. time to realize it and give Green some experience for next season and for the future... and at best he makes some plays and wins some games this year.
  19. Yeah i noticed the same thing... its not your tv. Anyone have an information or link to a story on this?
  20. I put all three ints on Lee. The one to McNeil was tipped and ended low and behind.. he had no chance of catching it but can't fault him for reacting to it. The other was high and behind... the receivers got a hand on the ball which would have been brought it with a great catch but still they were poorly thrown balls...
  21. The funny thing is that even with my earlier prediction of us going 3-2 we could still win the north... K state may end up being a bigger game this year then Kansas due to the fact Kansas has such a tough schedule with the south...
  22. We finish 3-2... lose to Oklahoma and split between either the kansas or colorado... and thats being optimistic
  23. Never say never. I think NU will be a top 5 team again, just maybe not as soon as we all thought. The talent at WR and QB simply isn't there. Apparently. I never said never. QB and receiver are just two positions where they are behind the right ball. Everything else looks pretty darn kosher to me. NU has one RB and he is a Glass Nancy like Murtha was. They need more than Helu x 4. Also some killer TE's and o-linemen that don't get beat by guys they should be blowing away. The D looks good this year but they need to learn to be faster and hit with tremendous power. Oh, and they need to stop falling asleep and getting burned for the big plays. Add those guys to the new QB's and WR and we have something to move forward with. Maybe I should be recruiting coordinator and spell this out for the coaching staff as they are not getting these types of players. Shamwow...you make a most salient point regarding Florida! Bottom line is: we have a Bo Pelini defense and a Bill Calahan offense. We will obviously never get anywhere with a BC offense. I never really did understand the logic in keeping Watson and Cotton. It's time to get something new, and in the meantime, send Zac Lee's "prettyboy" act back to the fraternity house and start developing Cody Green. Nebraska needs to quit with this one or two year quarterback stuff and get someone in there, who by the time they are a junior, are performing at their peak because they thoroughly know the system and have improved incrementally by repeated game experience. With freshman Cody Green,we now have an opportunity to do just that. They burned his redshirt, now use him and develop his talents the next four years. Just my two cents along with the many other points of view. When you say we have a "Bo Pelini defense and a Bill Callahan offense" you of course realize that for all practical purposes these players on both sides of the ball are all Bill C's and a big case could be made that Bo has no better record than Bill C would have this year. Now don't get all worked up. I don't espouse that we would be better off under Bill C at all. I am just saying that we have someone who has never been a head coach. Our defense is playing pretty well, but when the chips were down they let an Iowa State team without a QB and their leading rusher move the ball very easily. When the chips were down they let VT win the game. They let TT beat us like a rented mule when that team lost big to a very average ATM team without Bo's great defensive strategy. Now this is not to be anti-Bo. But the idea that he has made a great defense in Lincoln is not really true to this point. He has a great player recruited by Bill C. that accounts for a huge proportion of our defensive effectiveness. There are few like him in college football. Like a great horse makes a trainer look smart, a number one NFL pick on your DL makes you a much better defensive coach. Until Bo recruits and year after year shows a better defense than we have now, the jury will be out. Until Bo shows that he can have an offense that can beat a team that would be characterized as undermanned and then lame as can be, the jury will be out. He seems to be paralyzed to making effective moves on the offense. Perhaps there are none to make and our personnel is so bad that we cannot do any better. But he has done nothing to change the offense even though it has become obvious there are huge problems. Will he be able to put a defense on the field next year that is up to this years unit? Doubtful Will he be able to put an offense on the field that is better than this year's unit? One would sure hope but why would we think that would happen? Right now it looks like the growth of this team is dependent on Lee becoming less scared and more capable of a QB and our OL becoming at least mediocre, and our wideouts improving 1000% . I don't see that happening. Freshmen recruited this year are not going to change this thing. Remember we were the ones that were the overwhelming favorite in the North. We may still win it, by default and an easier schedule than some. But so what. We get killed by Texas and then what? More likely we are going to lose more games to teams better than Iowa State and not have to worry about the Big 12 CC. Sorry to be pessimistic but I think this "Bo knows" thing has run it's course. We have major defeciencies that are not being addressed and I fear there is no plan to address them. Maybe I'm wrong and the rest of the season will be like playing the Sunbelt teams we beat. Hope so but don't count on it. We are right close to the cliff Completely Agree... Great Post
