Yeah, Raiola is N. He'll be arriving for his weekend OV soon, and they'll be shooting a commitment announcement video when he gets there. As far as the competition side goes, it sounds like Raiola is OK with not being guaranteed the starting job this year, he just wants a legit chance to compete for it (probably not happening at Georgia if Beck comes back). As for the McCords, I think they (and particularly his dad) were OK with a QB competition until they saw who the competition was going to be. Dad got panicky and started making more demands, and apparently it reached the point where Rhule threw up his hands and said we're not gonna be able to do this. As far as another 1-year bridge guys goes, I haven't heard any names. But look at that tweet I posted about Cam Ward - he didn't just name drop us out of the blue, you know? Rhule is probably trying to get in the ear of any top portal QB who will listen, with whatever dollar figure 1890 can provide.

If the rumors are correct, Kyle and Dylan were both OK with whatever arrangement Rhule was proposing. It was McCord's dad, who thinks he knows what's best for Kyle better than Kyle does, who threw a fit...

Also, apparently Ward isn't out of the question for us. He'd probably be a bigger get than McCord.

Yeah, that's a real nice score for Indiana. Wisconsin (Tyler Van Dyke) and Minnesota (Max Brosmer) got some solid portal QBs, too, and of course Michigan State landed arguably the top portal guy in Aidan Chiles. If he were still 15 years old maybe he could improve his motion, but very few guys are really able to make that big of a change to their throwing motion by the time they get to college. And Haarberg would need a HUGE overhaul to be a realistic option at QB, not a little tweak. 'Tweaking his throwing motion' might seem like a path of less resistance than switching to another position, but it's really not.

Upgrading Haarberg means moving him to another position where his athleticism could potentially make an NFL roster, not keeping him at QB where he has no future. Or never, if you're Iowa.

For those who haven't been following along, he's had some legal troubles, so he could end up just being our next Arik Gilbert (ie don't get your hopes up). He was a 5* guy out of HS (originally went to A&M, then Garden City CC), but it looks like On3 & 247 downgraded him to 3* as a transfer.
