    Top 25

This poll isn't considering strength of schedule. Not interested in how good other teams are. Just wanna know who you think are the best teams going in to next season. Here's mine: 1. Florida 2. Texas 3. Oklahoma 4. Alabama 5. USC 6. Georgia 7. Ole Miss 8. Virginia Tech 9. Penn St 10 Ohio St 11. Pitt 12. Oklahoma St 13. Florida St 14. Oregon 15. LSU 16. North Carolina 17. Nebraska 18. Oregon St 19. Miami(FL) 20. Texas Tech 21. Utah 22. Kansas 23. Iowa 24. Georgia Tech 25. TCU
  2. It's always great to have a running back step up and show that he can be the man in a game but... name one team in all of football, college or pro's who doesn't have some sort of rb roation. Name ONE!
  3. Mendoza looked very impressive in the spring game. He also showed flashes of potential against CU. How does he not get any reps versus Clemson. What's the RB rotation looking like for next year? Will it be all Helu and Castille or will another player be in the mix as well?
  4. You're kidding right? Henery is the same kicker who made every attempt a year ago. Henery's kicking percentage is higher and he has the stronger leg. What makes the Mizzou kicker better and when did he have a kick that meant anything?
  5. How does Henery not win All-Conference? Is Mizzou's kicker really better than him?
  6. What happened to last years senior db's? Anyone know if Grixby, Jones, or Green ended up playing anywhere?
  7. Does attitude or the willingness to give it everything you have every play come into the equation? If so, this year's team....by far. Attitude reflects leadership and Callahan and his staff wouldn't be in charge. With that said, which team would you rather take? This years or last years?
  8. Yes, the record has improved this year but if you were a head coach and you could pick between last years and this years roster of athletes, which do you take?
  9. The dline was a huge question mark coming in to this season. The unit has stepped up and played better than last year. With Pierre Allen, Barry Turner, Ndamukong Suh, and Baker Steinkuhler as the likely starters, What do you guys think about 2009 dline crew?
  10. Swift and Peterson are pretty good and they may be carrying the team right now but there is plenty of other talent at the position. Niles, Meno, Brooks, Khiry, and Curenski will all do pretty well next year. Will Henry and Steve Osborne are both big targets that could also do pretty well. The cupboards are not bare.
  11. Do you see ANY teams with four losses ranked?? NO. There's your answer. BEAT KSU!! Kansas earns votes in every poll, including 9 in the Harris poll with... FOUR losses! How???
  12. I checked the AP, Coaches, and Harris Polls this morning and was shocked to see that Western Michigan and Kansas both earned votes this week. The Huskers just beat Kansas saturday yet the Jayhawks STILL get more respect. Does anybody have an explanation for this? LINK http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/polls
  13. Ganz ran the shotgun pretty well at the end of last season. I think he'd be effective in the spread. I also think that running the option again would be a huge risk that could have an even greater reward. There is a reason that it worked for so long in college football. Defense's these days are aimed toward stopping the spread. Teams are going for smaller, faster dline and linebackers. Would todays defenses be able to stop a powerful option ground attack? Would option give the Huskers that edge that they once had? Would Cody Green be the man to turn things around?
  14. Do the Huskers have the talent to run the spread offense. I hear over and over about how teams are winning because of their "systems." I don't think people realize how much the spread has helped mediocre teams such as Kansas, Texas Tech, and Missouri, look good. Would Nebraska's current talent have more success in the spread?
  15. The running game failed against Va Tech because Watson didn't make an effort to get it going. Every play, especially a dive or an iso, can't go for a homerun. It's pretty rare to see a RB with stats such as 6 carries for 100 yds but you'll often see stats like 20-110 yds. Just how the game is. If the Huskers can combine a solid running game with a VERTICAL passing game, the offense can be very dangerous!
  16. Nebraska has by far the most dedicated fans in the nation but... it seems like no one believes in the team at all. Pathetic! Why not just root for a USC, or a Florida, or even a Georgia???
  17. Baylor's QB has looked very impressive so far. Any chance of the Bears making any noise in the conference???
  18. Mason's already proving the skeptics wrong!!
  19. I think it would be nice to redshirt Mason and have him back for another 4 years but this kid was recruited because he is a heat seeking missile. We've all seen the tape. He finds the ball carrier and blows him up. Kickoff team and maybe punt sounds like the ideal spot for this kid right now!
  20. So how can a talentless 7-7 Nebraska team turn around the next year and go 10-3? Was it Jammal Lord's option attack? Did Solich recruit a super class that made an immediate impact? Did the blackshirts bring in a whole new line up? No, No, No, and No!!! Pelini left the Green Bay for Huskerland and things turned around from there. The players stayed the same but the play on the field improved. This year, we will see how much talent NU actually has! Go Big Red!!!
  21. Why does everyone hate on Mo!? He was the best player we had last year! If we had Mo back this season, no one would be worried about the wr unit! Wish we had him for 4 years instead of two!!
  22. Right. Kinda of. I mean, what kind of opportunities were these guys given on game day exactly? I only saw Nunn, Purify, Swift & Peterson on the field the past two seasons. Just sayin.. I hear all the time that NU doesn't have any talent. There is talent on the team but these guys need to get there chance. IMO, all four players, including Henry, would have seen the field for almost any other team in the Big XII.
  23. I noticed that too. 55 is a defensive number. Yeah, it can be on the other side, but this just screams DT to me for some reason. Not sure if you've heard the story about Desean Jackson and USC but... they say that he was a sure commit to the Trojans as long as he could wear the number 1. Well apparently, that number had been promised to Patrick Turner. Cal gives Desean #1 and he becomes a Golden Bear. There aren't too many star players that wear 80's in college and even high school. 80's are too blah. Single digit and low numbers stick out. A lot of people may say that numbers don't matter but it's like that with most positions. Star WR's don't like 80's, Star RB's don't like 40's, Star QB's usually want 19 and under, Dline want 50's or 90's, DB's prefer low numbers too. To be honest, I can't really think of too many college WR outside of Nate Swift that wear 80's. There's the Brian kid from Ohio St. but I can't even think of his full name. Some recent stars include: Cal #1 Desean Jackson Florida #1 Percy Harvin Michigan #1 Braylon Edwards Ohio St #4 Santanio Holmes #7 Ted Ginn Jr. #11 Anthony Gonzalaz Oklahoma #4 Malcolm Kelly Penn St #1 Derrick Williams Tennessee #3 Robert Meachem Texas #4 Roy Williams and Limas Sweed Texas Tech #5 Mike Crabtree #8 Joel Filani USC #1 Mike Williams and Patrick Turner #8 Dewayne Jarrett #2 Steve Smith Virginia Tech #4 Eddie Royal Washington #1 Reggie Williams
