  1. They also stated that the Raiders quit last year under Callahan. I hope this isn't a trend after hearing the Huskers were arguing amongst each other in the huddle. I think they just knew what was at stake and what they were about to lose. Arguing like that is a reflection of coaching; blaming each other is not the answer, solving the problem together, as a team, is. Damn, I should coach the Huskers!
  2. It's too bad that you didn't watch the whole game, walksalone. The team has promise and is working an offense designed to pass; with run oriented players. If you follow the recruiting picture you will see that the Husker future looks extremely productive. I was upset to see them lose as much as any other Husker fan; but all good things do come to an end. If it wouldn't have been today, it would've been 5, 10, perhaps 20 years from now. But it would have ended. The last time Nebraska had a losing season was 1961? Kennedy was our President and I was 4 years from being BORN. So I take it in stride and I give OUR coach the opportunity he DESERVES to prove himself next year. If Nebraska goes another year a loser, I will support you, but right now I support those who need it most OUR PLAYERS. It's too bad you're not a Nittany Lion fan, you'd probably be suffering from a heart condition coupled by an ulcer. One more time for the GOOD TIMES (Dave Humm, Johnny "The Jet" Rodgers, Vince Ferrigamo, Dave Remmington, Will Shields, Tommie Frazier, Ahman Green, Scott Frost, and Eric Crouch (to name a few), GO BIG RED! Damn its good th be a HUSKER!
  3. When was the last time Nebraska was #2 in recruiting? That is enough promise for next few years for me! Harrison Beck
  4. I agree about Nebraska looking OK in OK. OU really was not impressive to me. They WILL NOT win the National Championship. The field goal made me happy, although I question why Callahan didn't try it on the other end of the field instead of going for it on 4th down. It's not Miami, Bill, and it sure as heck wasn't 31-30. Needless to say, I look forward to next year. If Nebraska loses to Colorado I would imagine their bowl hopes are awash; if they aren't already. GO HUSKERS!
  5. No, wait until this weekend (13th), I have a BAD felling that something terrible is going to happen in Norman. Like Nebraska is going to upset them. Go Huskers!
  6. I am originally from Lincoln, Nebraska and have followed the Huskers for 20 years since I left for the Navy. I loved watching the championship years in the mid-90's with Tommie & Co., and I have weathered the bad times in between. What gets me is why Nebraska fans ALWAYS expect a Championship season. I know how religious the program is to the state, I know the third largest city in the state on Saturday afternoon is Memorial Stadium. What I don't know is why you don't give Bill Callahan a chance. Watching the Huskers play today on FSN was nice; not great. The offense still has some work, and losing Herian will hurt. Listening to the announcers, they spoke of the recruiting class (which is currently ranked #3 in the nation), and the talent they are pulling, and will continue to pull into the WCO of Nebraska. Don't be surprised by the end of the year if NU is #1 in recruiting. Oh yeah, thanks to Bill Callahan. And as for the ones that can't stand an off season, think of all of the other fans, players and teams in the NCAA (past and present), that will NEVER feel what we have felt as Nebraskans. If you need a reminder, perhaps you should pop in that 62-24 throttling of Florida into your VCR/DVD for a reality check. And while you are watching it, think about how long Tom Osborne took to get back to the "Championship Years." If it takes Nebraska another 20 years to reach another championship, I don't feel sorry for the team, I feel sorry for the fans who have no patience. I am confident that it wont take that long, in fact, you might be surprised with what you see in the next two years. Until then, give Bill some credit, he knows what he got into when he accepted the job at NEBRASKA. In the meantime... GO BIG RED!
