  1. On Gameday he just said that he talked to the head of Sunbelt officials and was told that since both Nebraska and Michigan players were on the field, it would have been offsetting unsportsmanlike conduct penalties and the game would have still been over. There would have been no replay of the down. So at least maybe ESPN and Michganders can stop whinning about that now.
  2. Plain and simple, Freeman saw Beck in practice a couple times in the last month. He's afraid.
  3. Carr should also kick himself in the ass for using that last timeout in an effort to "hint" to the referees, or give them more time to look at the play.
  4. I know last night the Husker game was the lead story both times, I guess, if there is a downfall they only showed the one play, Nunn catching the pass then they go back to the lateral play

What a player. This guy set the tone for our defense on the opening NU defensive series. He laid out the Mich WR. Tirico on ESPN make a great call on that. NU hit harder, were more emotional and just as physical as UM was the entire game. I completely forgot about the LB's being hurt, especially the replacement Brandenburg because he played so damn well..
  6. Folks it's not even going to be close.. UM 37 NU 12 rush 28 pass 166
  7. Torreta and Andre Ware should be much higher.
  8. Yards per rush is the big number.....8.9!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Almost a first down every rush.
  9. I don't understand how the biggest radio contract in the contract can't yield a decent play by play man or women.
  10. I would imagine the offensive side of the ball. Our recruiting this year is off in that area. We will lose Cruz Barrett to FSU, hence we are in desperate need of OL
  11. Purdue runs similiar things, but other than that I feel it will be new to UM
  12. This guy is dumber than dirt.
  13. I am sitting at my in laws right now and the amount of idiots here could fill Memorial Stadium. I am currently stabbing myself slowly, while twisting a fork in my eye and while at the same time lighthing M-80's off in my ear as everyone plays "Outburst" upstairs. These people actually believe they are funny. Out of 15 or so, onr has a sense of humor, the others just yell with awkward silences after them while the others try to figure out the joke. My wife refuses to leave until everyone is gone which could go into 11pm or so. I've been trying to get drunk, but everytime I finish I hestitate and gasp at the thought of having to go upstairs to refill the drink at the thought of having to look at these idiots and field their idiotic questions and pestering about why I'm "to good" for them and why I'm hiding in the basement. I just nod, pour my drink, and bolt it down the stairs. I need help. This sucks in the worst way. We couldn't watch football because it was "time to talk" and "catch up on thigs" time. I cried. When we open gifts we sit in a circle and open them one by one and them talk about the gift and all the ways it can be useful or how nice it is. Something that shouldn't take more than 15 minutes or so goes on for two hours. I'm not ungrateful, but I'd rather not get anything than go through this. I hate life
  14. I would like to think he's a "man of his word" and will not go. He has kids in school in Lincoln and as you said unless a head coaching job opens, coordinator wont" pay the bills"
  15. Unseeded Broncos Surprise Visitors to Semis Unseeded Broncos Surprise Visitors to Semis Santa Clara to play No.2 Nebraska Thursday night Dec. 14, 2005 By John Crumpacker The San Francisco Chronicle If it is possible for a school making the national semifinals to be overlooked, Santa Clara's women's volleyball team is probably it. Unseeded at the start of the NCAA tournament, the Broncos (27-4) dispatched Stanford, Pepperdine and Arizona to reach volleyball's Final Four for the first time in school history. They will face No. 1 Nebraska (32-1) at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in one national semifinal in the Alamodome in San Antonio. Washington (30-1) meets Tennessee (25-8) in the other semi at 4 p.m. Winners play for the national championship Saturday. "I recognized our potential to make it this far earlier in the season,'' Santa Clara outside hitter Kim McGiven said. "Actually doing it is another thing. We were disappointed we didn't get a seed. When we didn't get it, we said we'll deal with it and still be great. We were going to go after our goals.'' This is only the fifth Santa Clara athletic team to advance to a national semifinal. Men's basketball did it in 1952, the baseball team played for the NCAA championship in 1962 and the Broncos' men's and women's soccer teams have made it that far on a number of occasions. And now the women's volleyball team, coached by Jon Wallace. "It means a lot to the team and the program,'' McGiven said. "It's really nice to see our program getting some recognition and respect. It's taken awhile for our program to get some respect. It's great to see Jon get some respect because he's worked really hard, and so has the staff.'' Nebraska represents a daunting challenge for the Broncos. The Cornhuskers are big, athletic and powerful and lost just once this season, to Texas on Nov. 26. In racking up 32 wins, Nebraska was extended to five games only twice. Its front line is 6-foot-2 outside hitter Christina Houghtelling, 6-5 OH Sarah Pavan, 6-2 middle blocker Melissa Elmer and 6-2 MB Amanda Gates. "They are big and they are the best blocking team in the country,'' Wallace said. "We'll just have to find a way to beat them and sell it to the girls that there is a way to beat them.'' After defeating Stanford for the first time in school history and then knocking off Arizona in five games to get this far, the Broncos are riding high with players such as McGiven with her 4.15 kills per game and libero Caroline Walters averaging 4.50 digs per game from her backcourt position. "Our team is just ecstatic right now,'' Walters said. "We have just been living the dream this year. It's a great experience, one not many people are able to have. We're very grateful.'' Assessing Nebraska, Walters said, "They are a very, very talented team. They are extremely tall and have a quick offense. We believe with our defense we can counter-attack them.'' Might the Cornhuskers, winners of national championships in 1995 and 2000, take Santa Clara lightly while looking forward to an NCAA title game? "I think they are, but at the same time, I think all four teams in the Final Four have respect for each other,'' Walters said. "Facing an unseeded team in the semis, they could have that attitude.'' That's fine with Santa Clara, the little team that could -- thus far, at least.
  16. Great news, but I won't really feel good about this one until we get the thumbs up from our buddies at the NCAA Clearinghouse. Truely our first "big-time" Wide reciever. Same mold as Roy Williams, Dale Jarrett and other tall WR. He has 3 years to play 2. Now the question is: CAN HE PICK UP THE SYSTEM?????????????????????? He wont be here until MAY.
  17. His decision will come at the end of the month. If he took the terst this month, no one will know the scores for a couple weeks.
  18. Gary Barnett’s Farewell Party IS Going to be Freaking Awesome December 14, 2005 - AP staff writer With Gary Barnett’s tumultuous tenure as head football coach at Colorado finally coming to an end last week with his dismissal, plans are already underway for his farewell party. And those with details of the shindig say it will make Colorado’s famed recruiting parties look like bingo night at the VFW. “I’m telling you, if there’s any way you can get on the list for this party do it,” said Colorado athletics director Mike Bohn. “It’s going to be like nothing anyone has ever seen before.” Top prostitutes and strippers are being brought in for the event not just from Boulder or Denver or Colorado Springs, but from the entire Rocky Mountain region and some from as far away as New York and Miami. “The coup de grace, so to speak,” said Bohn, “will be his farewell cake. We got Katie Hnida to agree to jump out of it naked. I can’t wait to see the look on Gary’s face when that happens.” Bohn, who fired Barnett, said there is no conflict of interest in also coordinating the coach’s farewell party. “None at all. I personally would have loved to keep the guy around. This campus has never been so much fun as when Gary was our coach. But eventually we had to start worrying about the reputation of our school nationwide, so I had to let him go,” said Bohn. “But he’s going to go out in style. If this party doesn’t end with some football recruits getting arrested for killing a hooker, I’ll be shocked. I expect it to be that good. Plus, since we kind of have an alibi on this party since Gary is no longer an employee. No matter what happens we can say the University of Colorado had nothing to do with it. We just need to make sure none of the trustees get arrested or knock up any co-eds or anything like that.”
  19. I understand the need for JUCOs, but I also see a higher failure rate for JUCOs also--for every DeMarrio Williams, there seem to be a dozen flops--Again, I understand the immediate need, but would like to see a greater emphasis on HS players
  20. Have fun at Penn St. Wallace. It was good while it lasted.
  21. With a couple OLineman hurt we could have a field day, but I really think it's the scheme that UM comes at us with...feast or famine in my eyes. Were gonna get him and get him often or nothing.
  22. Troy State? Yep... beating Troy State sure is gonna get us high ratings. Now if Pederson wanted to get on the graces of Husker fans that are not too enamoured with his performance so far... he'd get a game like Iowa on the schedule seeing that is something the fans would like to see happen. Plus you beat a team like Iowa and the nation starts taking notice. Right now we aren't even on the radar nationally except when something un-Nebraska like happens on our part. You want order restored? Start scheduling a few more respectable opponents and take them to the woodshed. Its takes some to get some.
  23. Thank God others are seeing his potential at WR. I've said all along based on his HS Film he's the closest thing to Irving Fryar
  24. It was on about a week ago
