  1. I don't think that people are expecting Nebraska to get blown out Saturday. I know I'm not. Any realistic Missouri fan wouldn't. Lincoln is a tough place to play no matter who is visiting. NU has a real chance of winning this game, as does Missouri. I think the key for Nebraska is getting pressure on Daniel from the D-Line. Oklahoma practically pitched a tent in Mizzou's backfield twice last year, and that pressure really threw Chase off his game. Mizzou will most likely get its points, but minimize big plays and constantly pressure Daniel and we have ourselves a tight ballgame.
  2. I'll disagree with this one... Texas (4-0) at Colorado (3-1) – Frankly, because of the intangibles, I’m going to give this one to Colorado in an upset. Yeah…I hate Colorado with a passion but still…Texas will be sucking wind at that altitude and Colorado always plays well at home. If the Buffs can ride out the first quarter without getting lit up, they will take the Longhorns down…if only to totally ball up the Big 12 North standings Colorado (4-1) over Texas (4-1) BTW-- Speaking of ignorance.... I was right on all three of my disagreements last week. I think UT wins too, but CU could do it. THat is the one upset he picked, so it is easy to go with the favorite. I must say, Cy has been pretty good so far, but most of these picks are favorites... So he's more credible if he picks more upsets? I think Cy's picks are pretty spot-on. I'm guessing KSU will get waxed. I would be surprised (but not totally floored) to see Texas or Missouri lose this weekend. They're both playing at tough venues. If UT and MU minimize mistakes I feel like they should both win by 10-14 points. We'll see! Go Mizzou!
  3. This has been a fun thread to watch! Let's just say that us Mizzou fans are new to the big rankings and expectations. We're not used to being good. So forgive my fellow MU fans for being excited. Of course, you'll always have a few knuckleheads in the bunch. I enjoy the back-and-forth banter, but it's silly to come to a Nebraska board and say "You guys are gonna get rolled". Both teams have hopes that they can win, and that's why we play. I can remember sitting in 25-degree freezing rain with maybe 18 other people in the stands at Faurot Field watching Mizzou get drilled by Nebraska. I remember the first "golf clap" I witnessed at Memorial Stadium after my Tigers got waxed and were limping off the field. Point being, this is a huge game for Missouri fans who have followed the program closely over the years and know what it really means for Mizzou to win in Lincoln. Personally, I'd be happy to win the game 3-2. Nebraska will always be a presence in the Big 12 North, and always has been at the top of the conference. I'm hopeful that Mizzou can achieve the same type of staying power in coming years. But for now, I'll take a win in Lincoln any way we can get it. Do I think Mizzou has a good chance of winning Saturday? Yes. Do I think Mizzou SHOULD win the game? Yes. Has Mizzou played like crap in Lincoln in the past? See 1980-2006. Have fun at the game everyone, Go Tigers!
  4. 1. Nebraska has to force turnovers. Mizzou will get their points. If Virginia Tech can get their points, Missouri can too. Probably more. That's why the Huskers will have to win the turnover battle to be successful 2. Somehow get pressure on Daniel with the front 4. You're not going to be able to blitz a lot, Mizzou likes the screen too much as it is. 3. Avoid giving up big plays. Missouri has burned every team this year deep. 4. Try not to get into a shootout. Nebraska will win the time of possession battle without too much trouble, as Mizzou doesn't chew up too much clock whether they score or not. 5. Avoid giving Mizzou a short field offensively. Kind of a no-brainer, but something that has happened in every game for MU so far. Nebraska has to be able to pin MU deep in their own territory as much as possible. Just my opinion, for what its worth. Looking forward to a good game Saturday. Go Tigers!
  5. Hey everyone, just wanted to say hi. Mizzou fan here, looking forward to a good game in Lincoln Saturday. I'm not really sure where the line should be on this game. I feel like Mizzou stacks up pretty well, but then again the game is in Lincoln. If MU can avoid the mistakes they made vs. Buffalo, I think Mizzou should win by 17 to 21. If not, it could be anybody's ballgame. Cheers!
