  1. Gentlemen, response in the woodshed
  2. I loathe UT, but Im sick of USC. Pretty damn close, if he's not. I remember another QB running for 199 yds in a NC game 10 years ago. Boy, it sure sucks having players like those 2 guys, Im glad NU doesnt anymore
  3. As I mentioned previously, I did not have a chance to watch the Alamo Bowl in its entirety, that’s why I havent commented on it much. Im not gonna dispute this could be true, could be false, but it is pretty difficult to measure the speed of UM vs other teams on NUs schedule when those teams havent faced each other this year. So you dont think that speed is important?
  4. I guess we will see. Havent USC and UT been right up there at the top in recruiting classes, ranked by recruiting "experts??" Obviously, its too early to tell how good any of these teams will be next year, but Im sure that both UT and USC will be pretty decent, at least. Or do you disagree??
  5. Bravo genius... Hmmm LB's getting beat covering WR's.... WOW great insight. Oh the humanity! Obviously, NUs coaches were not smart enough to figure that out But then again, look who Im talking to
  6. Hmm, the only speed guys at WR are Hardy, Fluellen, and LeFlore. The kids being recruited are bigger slower wr's. Not sure about RB's as they never seem to have room to break a big run. Taylor doesnt have the speed of, well, any past NU qb. As far as DBs, it seems that NU has good speed at DB at this time. Didnt look too great getting 480 yards put up on them by Brad Smith, or by having UMss WR's beat our LB's down the field almost every play. I could be wrong, but when NU plays one of the elite teams again, we will see how they compare athletically. Lets see what happens vs USC and UT next year.
  7. Learn this from personal experience? Nice post. No, I have no reason to lie. Actually, my frank and sometimes brutal honesty gets me in trouble, notice people like you taking shots at me while not debating the points at hand
  8. Oh for crying out loud do you ever stop No he doesn't. It's like he strives for attention. Maybe he wasn't breast fed as a child! Classy post. Response in the woodshed.
  9. Oh for crying out loud do you ever stop really do think that he ever will. fyi AU record since 2000 2000 9-4 2001 8-4 2002 9-4 2003 9-4 2004 13-0 2005 9-3 total 57-19 i would say that ranks them up in the top of the SEC How many SEC title do they have and how many NCs have they played for?? I would say elite teams like the Miami's, FSU's, Florida's, Texas's, OU's, USC's, etc.
  10. Should he strengthen is leg even if it means sacrificing accuracy? And why? Because I think it's obvious it takes more than a strong leg to be a good FG kicker. I guess if you want to risk giving the opponent the ball between the 30-40 yard line almost every kickoff, then having a strong kicking leg isnt too important. Field position is important in the game of football too. Or would you disagree??
  11. What are you even talking about? The Badgers handed it to Auburn and PSU beat FSU. The only teams from the Big 10 to lose to south schools during the bowls was Iowa and Northwestern. Are Auburn and FSU not "elite" south speed teams? Did you not see OSU play? They looked so freakin slow. Nice try. The last I checked, Auburn is not one of the elite, when was the last time they played for a NC??? FSU, yes is an elite school, but didnt they finish 7-5 this year. And it took Big 10 champ PSU 3 OTs to put away a 7-5 team. I wouldnt hang my hat on those 2 teams in this discussion.
  12. How? Besides, we were talking kick offs, not field goals. Did he put any balls into the EZ on his kickoffs?? Was he supposed to? I think he kicked off once. They guy is the #1 FG kicker, but he doesnt have enough leg strength to be the #1 kickoff guy. The KO guy even has trouble getting balls into the EZ. Im not bashing the kid. It is what it is. He doesnt have a strong leg at this point in his career, and many of his FGs look like line-drives. Was he accurate this year and deserving of frosh AA condsideration, yes. Does he have a strong leg, no, and we had this discussion early in the year when I was told that "maybe the plan is for him to kick the ball to the 10 and let the coverage do its job". Its obvious that he needs to strengthen his kicking leg, why are we even having this little skirmish??
  13. Good read Apparently, this writer hasnt visited Huskerboard.
  14. How? Besides, we were talking kick offs, not field goals. Did he put any balls into the EZ on his kickoffs??
  15. So when you deny something, you are automatically hiding something. Got it. No, but I remember the denial before TO retiring, and the denial before the FS firing......etc Yea, because those are the same thing. Not the same thing, but it shows a level of blatant dishonesty on his part. Once you are proven a liar, its tough to regain your honor.
  16. It would be nice, but depending on the situation it isn't necessary. More than a couple games this year the strategy seemed to be to kick it high enough and inside the 10. So the coverage can get down there and make a play inside the 20. If I remember correctly, he only attempted a couple of FG beyond 40 yds, and one was at CU???? He certainly needs to improve his leg strength, and getting air under the ball, the Alamo bowl proved that.
  17. Cause he's a friggin bonehead. You don't say anything unless a) You are serious, B) You have cleared it with your client. At least that's what I would do. Let the firestorm begin I guess. I dont see the big deal, except that when you deny something.............. He also said that he didnt make a throat-slash gesture What have you done for me lately???
  18. I couldnt agree more. I loathe the Big 10, and any time one of theirs suffers a loss, I have to crack a smile. The North has represented itself nicely in bowls, too That being said, it looks like NU is moving towards a Big 10 style team (big, slow, "pro style"), which means they will fall short when going up against the elite speed teams from the South. Most of (if not all) of the coaches on this staff have Big 10 roots.
  19. If you check the stats from 04 to 05, they are almost identical comparing YPG and PPG. I think (I could be wrong) that NU actually had more yards and PPG in 04, slightly. I wouldnt say that my statement was too far off the mark
  20. I believe I said that NU would be similar to the 04 squad (true) but would probably end up 6-5 or 7-4, with a trip to a lower bowl. I also think I said that NU had one certain win (Maine) and 3 certain losses (OU, Tech, CU<--- -not so correct). I also said that the other games were tossups (true). I believe that I stated prior to the season that all the games would be tough to predict.
  21. I really couldnt care less if he comes to NU or not, I was never really sold on him to begin with. I just find if funny how most NU fans were oohhhing and aahhhing over this guy, now he's no better than a cancer and a crybaby. There are 8 freaking pages on this guy on this forum alone.
  22. FYI, Tommie Frazier mentioned on the radio how much of an idiot Kirk is, He said he sucks as a commentator, and pretty much sucked as a football player, too. Sounded like Tommie wanted to get the 95 'Skers together to kick some ass
  23. I probably should have clarified, NU winning those games werent upsets, but someone made the point that NU has rarely beat teams with more talent. I was just pointing out that said teams were very, very talented Yes, and you should more often Agreed. NU did it for years.
