Okay I need the collective knowledge of this board to fill me in on details I am missing. If need be I will start a new topic after the Frost hire. Jay Foreman was just on Sharp and Benning. Both Jay and Damon were dancing around the topic and discussing the "complicated" past of SF and LP. Jay almost expects SF to address the topic and apologize once he is hired. What's so complicated about it? SF was dating LP's former girlfriend. LP went crazy and broke into SF's apartment and drug her down the stairs. The story about hiding in the closet is not substantiated in the police report or court transcript. What would SF now a 42 year old man need to apologize now for given he wasn't really wrong and he was 20 years old at the time. What am I missing??

I believe the APR is very similar to 2015 but is down just a little. The bigger difference is other teams that have 4 and 5 wins now as compared to 2015.

No, it's actually impossible barring several teams opting not to go to a bowl. See what I said above.

Eight team with 5 wins play each other so it's really 74. Then looking at the APR ranking there are more than 4 remaining with less than six wins that are ranked ahead of NU.

Looking at the teams that have yet to reach six wins and Nebraska's current APR ranking a 5-7 bowl appearance for NU is impossible this year. So this will not be an issue when Riley is fired after Iowa even if DONU wins.

SF may feel he's not done at UCF yet. We would wait because it's what we would be doing if MR had been successful enough to keep his job. We would go get SF after a Riley retirement instead of a firing. DONU is at an extreme disadvantage with it's lack of recruiting base. Only certain kinds of coaches can succeed here. Nick Saban before he won at LSU likely wouldn't have had the cache to bring in players here and win.

24-3 using leftover players isn't a blowout. Riley used a roster with twice the talent of Iowa to lose by 30.

I understand the consternation. However it would be an emergency hire if it were to happen. He could build a solid Wisconsin like program here given the time.

If Frost doesn't go to NU I think he stays put at UCF. Bohl then becomes the next likely canidate. Kelly is not coming to Nebraska. Bohl is what Riley was supposed to be. An experienced coach building a solid program while we wait for Frost to be ready. Bohl won't be the DC this time. He's obviously knows DONU maybe too well and what happened in 2002 might have soured him. He's right at the age Riley was in 2014.

Definitely. NU will be one year ahead in player development and system implementation as well.

I remember when it was said Pelini would never come here to be the head coach. It reminds on some levels of the current situation with Scott Frost.

There is a process to all of this but it's a little unclear to me. Putting together various statements as they appear is like reading tea leaves. Why did Spurrier say what he did over the weekend when Kelly was their target?

Is there a number of posts or likes that someone must reach to move up in rank? If so where is this information located?

Kelly to some place like UCLA makes more sense to me. Lots of talent and more time is given to coaches as well. Heck if I were Frost I would stay the heck out of the SEC. Either stay at UCF, go to NU, or go to a Power5 with sane fans like UCLA or North Carolina.
