  1. Watson is an offensive guru, who I believed called most-if not all the plays under a very similar scheme during the years that CU was winning the Big 12 titles...... He has a good resume' and by watching him interact with the players, he is a player's coach......Plus, as mentioned, he helps build a gap between the tow era's.....and don't pull the garbage that the whole staff sucked and clean house bit.....anyone who knows kids, should understand that in time of change, these kids need a familar face to ease the transition....and, if that familar face is also a very qualified and proven coach like Watson....it is a win-win. Has nothing to do with "how many" plays he called this year....
  2. Ar Husker fan....... please don't send me on a scavenger hunt... I am not being "sarcastic", but I really would like to know what Bo has done too instill such a deep hatred...... Bo is not my first choice either, but I can't wait for next season..... Please shed some light, without making me sort through 1000000000 Bo posts-links....
  3. Let me just say........... I am not convinced about Bo, but he has me ready to run through a wall....and I am only 155 pounds, so make it a thin wall........ but, if he indeed keeps Watson as OC, and Brown on staff and my main man Marvin Sanders as DC..... I will be in Husker Heaven....This would be a great, great staff...with just those3 guys , plus Bo.
  4. Husker Trucker.... I sure hope so...... I would be very happy to have Watson on staff....plus, he keeps the "link" we have with some of the very high recruits.....as soon as Bo announces Watson is N...let's go get some of these guys back, or guys better than the one's we lost....
  5. If you listened carefully, and I know all of you did......did it catch your ear when he was speaking about the current team, and what type of offense he would run....... Bo's response was something to the form of " offensively, moving the ball really hasn't been much of a problem. Don't expect a drastic change with the offense, maybe a few new wrinkles, but not much." The rumor about Watson has been there....does anyone try to read into this statement, and think that possibly Watson may get the chance to be OC...
  6. I too have a Siberian Husky named "Husker"........... I think you should wait a few days...... if the pup sh!ts all over the place, tears up the house...yet wags it's tail when you scold it.....you could call him....1. Pud 2. Cally 3. Coz
  7. Husker x.....although I don't always agree with ya..... I think this is one of your best.....hit the nail on the head.... I would like to think that all of us share your exact thoughts......this is why, even if we don't always agree on some issues, we all have the same goal in mind.........
  8. Why does Dillard "hate " Bo so much...... I think Dillard was the only tough SOB on defense this year...... but guess what....if he doesn't like it......C'ya......transfer out and we will move foreward without ya !!!! Players who want to play will play.....players who don't like it will leave... They are players.....not decision makers.....No way in hell, should we hire a guy based on whether or not this guy or this guy will be HAPPY... Hell, if Dillard is a real LB and FB player, he should be excited to get a defensive minded HC here....not that I am on the Bo bandwangon, cause I'm not....just don't push the whole ......players will leave excuse... He is good, but not THAT GOOD.... Don't lose any sleep over it.
  9. Bo was NOT my first choice, but once agian, like everyone on this board, I was not asked, nor did I sit in on interviews......... I want to know if anyone knows for a FACT that TO did NOT choose Turner........ I have said this on many, many threads.....it could be very possible that Turner didn't want the job at this point..... TO talks to Turner every week.... they are best friends and collegues....I have a hard time thinking that TO would look Turner straight in the eye and say, I am not going to give you a shot my friend..... better yet, I think Turner MIGHT have said, "timing isn't right...After I finish what I started here, I'll be ready the next time around".......and anyone who thinks there won't be a next time around isn't thinking realistically... Now, when TO comes out and says "I chose Bo OVER Turner, then I will join those who are saying TO made a bad decision...but until then, I truly think that just maybe, there is more to the story that we don't know.
  10. If it comes to LSU in the NC game, I truly expect Bo to try to do "both"...... I know this isn't a great recipe, but very possible, and HAS been done..... If announced tomorrow, Bo will have approx. a week-10 days off from LSU before they begin preparation.....pretty standard.....during those 10 days, he will be in Lincoln, starting to put together a staff and recruit.... Once LSU begins preparation, he could join the team and "share" DC duties with the LB's coach.....(who will probably be promoted after Bo leaves anyways)..... By "sharing" duties, Bo will have a little more freedom to keep in contact with recruits, especially visiting those in TX-LA, and keep looking for staff... This also allows him the opportunity to be with his team as they get the chance to play for a NC.....this doesn't happen everyday...... Bo deserves the chance to add a NC to his resume.... I can't see Dr. Tom expecting Bo to "walk away" from this opportunity...... regular bowl game....yes, but not the NC... If he is able to do both, why wouldn't NU fans want him in the spot-light again in the NC.....think of the national attention we will get every time they show Bo on the side-line......and as his defense is swarming an OSU team, who has only played 1 top 25 team (and lost)....... Bo will look brilliant, and recruits will see this..... We all know that early recruiting means crap......it is what the kid thinks in Jan. that counts.. Personally, having Bo in the spot-light, giving NU national attention........ I wouldn't know why anyone would disagree with that.....unless LSU gets shelled and Bo looks bad..... then backfire.... but I don't see it. Don't you think it would help even more if Bo could walk into a living room and say "My defense just won a NC"?
  11. Almost no doubt that Pelini will join NU immediately if they are not in NC game.... this is what is normally the case....most of the times, even the HC leaves for his new job....they will have an interim DC for the bowl game... Just my opinion....based on nothing but my "empty skull".
  12. Yes, the computers decide, but based on human polls too... I think that if LSU is in, it definately does not help NU...unless Bo comes right away....... If this is the case, I blame that f'n Steve Pedersen......that SOB went to Pitt... Pitt upsets WV, causing this whole stinkin' debate.....that dumb a$$ is getting the last laugh
  13. Almost everyone on all stations are suggesting LSU-OSU
  14. I understand that if Bo is announced HC, then only Bo/assistants can recruit.....plus, you only get 1 in-house visit..... I am not predicting....but this is going to get nuts....... georgia....not even in SEC championship game KU...not even in Big 12 * the nation will freak out again, as 2001 next, VT.....lost head to head to LSU...huge NExt...LSU 3-3 guys on ABC (as you heard) say LSU should be in..... most on ESPN say the same.... This is NOT A STRETCH.......... once again, not predicting....just saying... I think if this happens, Bo will be announced HC for recruiting purposes.....He will begin putting a staff together, recruit from Baton Rouge.....but will remain with the team and practice and prepare in "some" fashion....may turn over DC job to LB coach, but Bo will still be part of the team and game....Can't blame him....it would be the NC.... and they CAN, and probably will beat OSU....then he can add a NC to his resume'.
  15. Well, 1/2 of this equation is done...WV lost....even ABC is saying you would have a hard time putting Georgia in before LSU..... once again, KU didn't even win their division....same philosophy applies to KU as Georgia...... may come down to LSU and VT ..... only becuase of all of the sh!t NU caught in 2001... Fella's, if MU loses, LSU could be in the NC game...... not predicting, just speculating.... No one has answered my question........ IF, LSU is in NC, does Bo stay and prepare his team to win the title or does he come to NU early.....does he try to do both...... before LSU lost, many said they would NOT expect Bo to skip the NC game....when they lost to Arkansas, we thought "problem solved" if Bo was named coach..... Now what do people think?
  16. The refs are doing everything they can to make sure WV wins.....Pitt has been screwed out of a TD and a 1st down late in the game that would have almost sealed it....
  17. I know that both games are in the 2nd half and a lot of football left....but if OU beats MU and Pitt upsets WV (they lead by 6 with approx. 7 min left)...... the guys on aBC feel as if LSU might have a shot at the title game..... Georgia is #4, but they didn't even win their side of the SEC (Nebraska rule....not really a rule, but...)...... and VT is still ahead of LSU throttled them early.... Flutie seemed to think that if both lose, you could see LSU leap from georia and VT to play Ohio State... If LSU is in the NC, does Bo leave early to come up, or does he stay and prepare..... Could get interesting.... Any opinions ?
  18. I know.....that whole rational thinking thing is my bad...
  19. Remember, I am one of those guys who is not sold on Bo....I have made that clear many times.....but I don't need a source or anyone on this board to say....source, source, source... Proof enough......living my life around football, you DON'T DOUSE THE D-COORD. after just a conference championship......maybe after a NC, but not a conference championhsip....especially when a week ago, the SEC title meant nothing, it was NC or bust... They doused him and hugs all around on national tv....they were saying good-bye and thank you coach. Some of you can "wait" for you "sources"....but at what point does some things just become too obvious to deny?
  20. no kiddin' KC.... I am not Cooper, Ahman, Davidson, or Clester....all of these guys that she is into... but who knows, maybe I've worn Coop's glove before
  21. Husker runner....... I am not disagreeing with you, because you may be right....as all of our opinions may be "possible"....no one can predict the future... IMO, regardless if TO is AD or not, if Gill continues to build his resume, (if it was Turner who turned us down), the AD at the time will give Gill a fair shot..... Although TO may be gone, the boosters and the big $$$ people will not have forgotten Turner's legacy..... He will ALWAYS be welcome in NU as far as most fans believe.....As he builds his resume, he will either show he is worthy or not of leading a major program... If it comes down to the job coming open in the future, and Gill has proven to be the coach most of us feel he is, the AD will absolutely give him a shot at an interview...furthermore, I am assuming that TO will "hand-pick" the permanant AD, and something tells me that this permanant guy will have Nu ties......anyone with NU ties will give Gill a shot..... Dave Rimmington's name keeps popping up in some "rumor" circles.....Whoever the AD is, he/she will have NU roots....which will always help Gill !!!!! Now, if TO chose Bo over Turner (which, as I stated, I honestly don't think it went down like that), Gill may never apply here agian.
  22. get huskin....sounds good , but I prefer a rib-eye and a Michelob Golden Light ..HA
  23. Finally, it looks as if the whole thing is over.......Thank goodness, now we can go back in putting more emphasis on the Daily Skin... That damn thread hasn't been updated for almost a month just a little humor....and truth...I want an update
  24. Without bashing Bo, I too agree.....but until we find out differently, who says "WE PASSED ON TURNER"..... could he have possibly passed on NU? I know those with husker-goggles will sh!t themselves with this thougt, but is is a possibility....until we really know, we shouldn't blame TO for making a so-called wrong choice.... Wouldn't surprise me if Gill want to stay at Buffalo and honor his committment he surely made to the fr-so recruits who chose Buffalo over many Big East schools....He may want to be the 1st coach to take this school to a bowl, and go down in Buffalo history.... To many of those who don't see much farther than the red-lenses, this NU job will open up agian, and he will have another chance at his so-called "Dream Job" if he chooses..... If Pelini is the HC , and he is successful, he will jump just as every other coach in America, and if he fails, he will be gone in4 years.. Win or Lose......hello revolving door, and Gill will get another shot.....if he DID turn NU down.....If TO picked Pelini over Gill, (which I have a hard time believing, without a great reason from TO), then Gill's ties with NU may be done.... My guess is that either Gill turned down TO "for the time being" or he may still end up here in a very unique capacity.....(associate AD)..... I refuse to believe that TO just "cut ties" with one of his best friends......
  25. I will neither bash IBR or totally accept his word as gospel.... I sure hope he is right, and I honestly believe that there is a deceent chance of both of these things happening..... The Gill situation has already been discussed numerous times, and I do believe the OC at NU is a faster track to a big time HC, especially if TO is backing you...... now, I also wouldn't be surprised to see Gill stay and "finish" the job at Buffalo...we all know he is a man of character and probably made certain statements to recruits....I know "statements" mean "0" in today's world, but they might if you're Gill..... I wouldn't be surprise to see either scenario.. Stoops has been rumored for weeks now, even on this board, and yes, as a DC......If he knows that he will be gone, he might as well latch onto something if offered.....a lot more secure than searching...... He also probably realizes that if he can bring back the "Blackshirts".....that have been in the national spot-light for their demise, that it wouldn't take long to get another HC job at a big time program.....the whole brother thing is crap.....just ask the 45 Bowdens.... I could actually see a little validity in this... I hope IBR is right.....as far as I am concerned, he is batting WAY above .500, and that is better than most on this board, including myself.... So, he was wrong on McBride ..... but correct on a lot more....time-line may not have happend exactly, but things change every minute.... I will not bash or totally believe , but more than anything, I HOPE !!!!
