We?  You were the only one talking hypotheticals.

The rest of what you said here is correct.

We're discussing hypothetical policies that could save these lawless leftist hellscapes.

I think Trump said it best: this current administration is simply orchestrating a conspiracy to overthrow the United States of America.

The lawlessness here is just a part of that!

COVID was incredibly damaging in terms of taking a relatively fringe movement and mainstreaming it for a lot of people. It made it pretty easy to ID the morons amongst us, though.

Ole George had a pretty good take on this...

  3. Amazing considering we lost a couple bats to the draft last year but our offense sure feels a lot more dynamic than last year already. That's with key guys like Gabe batting .067, Carey .205 and Anglim .227 before today's game.

Obviously need to still find the power stroke but coming home should help.

Super impressed with the pitching so far too. Canning Christy was the right choice - Childress is paying immediate dividends.

Really enjoying things so far. Can't wait to get the home season kicked off next weekend.

Well, we all have our different views of what is appropriate and realistic.    You have certainly explained yours  (if we are easily duped into believing this is actually what you want or if you are going with more snark)

Why limit yourself to what is realistic if we're just discussing hypotheticals? Good policy is good policy. Don't constrain your mind for the sake of appeasing the woke mob.

These areas are clearly out of control, lawless crime beds. The only solution is to make people afraid of the legal system again. More force, not less. Make America scared again!

Turning a blind eye to these scumbags isn't going to make the problem better. W e need to deal with them, harshly.

Draconian is obviously the incorrect word to use.  Tougher deterrents make sense

    Why?

I’m not about to run around worrying about people’s feelings. That kind of thinking is soft.

If the goal is deterrence I want people TERRIFIED.

In fact maybe draconian isn’t tough enough…

You certainly are welcome to that opinion.

Makes more sense to reply to a different post with it though:thumbs

I mean if the discussion is crazy leftist policies, I think moving to embrace more draconian measures would be beneficial.

Let's get some tougher deterrents to start cleaning up these hellholes. Or we could just continue with 24/7 crime and chaos.

It’s so crazy to me that people on the Left leave a state or locality with policies they helped vote in which made said State/Locality unattractive to live in, only to vote in/try to vote in those insane policies for their new State or locality.  It’s like they need to get thumped in the head multiple times before they figure out it hurts.

I mean personally I think they should bring back the guillotine for this wanton criminals and gang bangers. I'm tired of half measures.

And use it at the border too.

Politicians today need to get tough and stop fooling around.

They're working with a pretty big barrel of chum, limited only by the imagination and unlikely to go away. Here's what I've seen from a small sampling of my conservative friends on social media the last couple weeks

    • Joe Biden's confusion, gaffes, and age-related issues will never stop giving

    • Joe Biden's history of criminal corruption is so well established it needs no specifics

    • Joe Biden's illegal immigrants are killing our beautiful young women

    • Zelensky and Ukraine are conning U.S. taxpayers and the Dems are helping them do it

    • Every trial facing Donald Trump is a political witch hunt, confirming the weaponization of federal law enforcement to prevent the rightful president from regaining his rightful office

    • This Trump Derangement Syndrome keeps liberals from admitting how much better the country was when Trump was president

Honestly what a lot of MAGAs need is an honest sit down with Dean Wormer. Of course he'd have to slip the word "angry" in there.

Yet Hunter isn’t actually saying what Krass Bro claims.   Hunter’s words choice is important especially when under oath.

1). He said “not that I remember” “I don’t ever remember doing that”

2).   “There are many different things in there that are either fabricated, hacked, stolen or manipulated”.    Keep in mind the word stolen, because Hunter is suing the laptop guy for stolen property I believe and Hunter believes the laptop and/or hard drive was stolen.   So with his word choice, fabricated, hacked, stolen or manipulated doesn’t even need to be true for his statement to not be considered perjury.

The intelligence agencies have already confirmed its existence and that it’s not Russian Disinformation.

And Hunter admits Joe IS The Big Guy!

When you finish your dissertation on Hunter's crimes I'd love to be in attendance when you defend it. Please keep us posted!

  10. Ahh yes, tried and true:

”Be afraid, very afraid! And also very angry!”

Now where have I seen these type of tactics before. Hmmm…

Or it opens up the door for Biden to play the same game - obstruct the election or don't vacate the WH if Trump wins.  For the good of the country, he could say 'We cannot allow trump to be president again. It will destroy democracy'.  So in in destroying democracy, he will save democracy.    Do I think Biden would do such a thing - absolutely not.  But the SC has opened the door to the possibility of a tyrant taking over if they rule in favor of Trump.  And slow walking the decision until after the election would show (1) Cowardness on their part & (2) Give 'aid and comfort' to an enemy of the state - Trump the would be dictator.    Now that the SC wants to weigh in on this, to elevate their status no doubt, they need to make it an emergency ruling.   A judge in Illinois has ruled against Trump being on the ballot - so there are now several states who have ballot issues on hold pending the SC decisions.  This is far worse that GWB vs Gore and the 2000 election stalemate.

I do agree Biden is like never try that. Of the two parties, his is the one that maintains the capacity for shame, much to the detriment of the Republic.
So we’ll probably just continue our cycle of R’s becoming more and more unfettered by any kind of guardrail or legal framework and Dems telling everyone how bad that is while having no real counter.

I obviously expect Trump to exploit every advantage he’s given and every rule or law he can bend or break in furtherance of his own agenda. So either way he will use this situation to his advantage.

Honestly this is pretty hilarious. You have to admit, Republicans going from "Lock her up!" to "it's absolutely essential that the President be allowed to commit crimes" is quite amazing. Of course, Republican voters are immune from irony so this - like many things - is lost on them.

Regarding SCOTUS, it's unfortunate that two of their members are openly compromised and obviously corrupt. Without a miracle, the court will be a Heritage Foundation/Federalist Society outpost for a generation. I'm not sure if or when liberal Justices will control the court again, but it's likely going to be decades.

Yeah the theory I heard bandied about this morning that I think is EXTREMELY plausible is that certain justices (pretty easy to identify Thomas and Alito) are doing this on purpose and are going to slow-walk things as much as they can because they want to retire but they want Trump to name their replacements.

Who would actually be surprised by this? Congrats America. We get what we deserve. Roberts can preside over an openly and unapologetically corrupt SCOTUS that drags the country further and further right with exclusively Trump appointed justices handpicked by the FedSoc weirdos for basically the rest of our adult lives.

How’s that for a shot of optimism?

Roberts's legacy is not going to be a good one. Especially if this goes sideways, which it very well could with the way things have been stacked. We know Alito and Thomas for sure will vote in favor of Trump. Roberts could end up being the swing vote as 2 of the 3 Trump appointees will probably vote in his favor.

Then again Trump's lawyers have a way of f#&%ing everything up...

No big deal. Only the fate of the country's future hangs in the balance.

I think I’m with @commando here. I would hope there’s not a snowball’s chance in hell they actually rule in his favor. That would be a catastrophically awful ruling just facilitating our slide into fascism. I don’t trust SCOTUS at all but I don’t even think they’re that stupid. The logical consequences of that ruling would be that Biden could just order a government-sanctioned hit job on Trump (or SCOTUS for that matter) and claim presidential immunity.

If you think that’s insane, that’s literally one of Team Trump’s arguments.

Unfortunately I think they’re just stroking their own sense of self-importance on a ruling they didn’t even really need to make. They were asked to take up the case last fall and they passed, sending it through the typical channels. But now obviously they need to have their say. Coincidentally it aligns perfectly with everyone’s favorite crime lord’s strategy of delaying everything as long as possible so he can’t be held accountable.

And you’ll still get people arguing how he’s just exercising his rights and SCOTUS isn’t just a partisan group of FedSoc lackeys.

It’s really embarrassing how badly one can exploit our justice system if they have unlimited resources from their cronies and moronic following footing their bills.

  14. SCOTUS so high on their own supply as high-minded apolitical neutral arbiters of the law (lol) that they just took up Trump’s ridiculous immunity argument that’s been destroyed at every lower level so they can in effect gift him another delay trying to run out the clock on justice.

SCOTUS is a bad joke. There’s a reason their reputation is in the toilet.

With lots of evidence they themselves are openly corrupt and able to be bought for the highest bidder, it’s no mistake they want to let the slimiest, most corrupt scumbag in our political hellscape slide by on his rather obvious crimes.

But HEY! Look over HERE! It’s Hunter’s schlong!

Screw that. Toughen up you pinko commie. I am hereby and henceforth calling for nuking the border until we figure out what the hell is going on.

It’s a perfect plan. The illegals are not well equipped for cold weather as they’re currently openly pouring into our country through, naturally, the desert. So it’s a real 4D chess move to surprise them with a little nuclear winter.

A little collateral damage is acceptable; Texas is pretty big and the Southwest sucks anyway.

Personally I’m tired of these wussy politicians offering watered down solutions to real problems. We need ACTION!

Frankly if we’re just gonna go gloves off (seems like Fox is more than happy to milk this subject for all it’s worth while their braindead following laps it up) maybe there should be a lot more coverage of Trump’s declining mental faculties.

I mean what’s up with that? Not like he was the most stable guy to begin with. Now we’ve got untold levels of cognitive decline too. What is Team Trump trying to hide?
