  1. I think NE FAN at large grasps football and our team just fine, thanks, and we know that our qb and rcvr situation is going to be an issue: but we are going to be alright! Whichever qb we plug in is a talented guy familiar with the system. It's closer to 'reload' than otherwise. Paul, Holt, McNeill have already seen alot of game time and have made an impact. Brooks, Gilleylen(FAST!) and hopefully Cooper(stud) will provide depth. They are going to be fine. But our line play on both sides is what is going to be the difference, we're going to be stout. Our running attack will be the best in the North w/o a doubt. And our D, forget about it, going to be dominant! If you guys don't improve your running attack next year you are in deep doo doo..... I seriously think that the Puffs(in addition to GBR) have the edge over KU and Mizzou next year.
  2. Well, I guess that's an issue, but if you are in there full time with the team maybe you get a sense of who's the cream of the crop. But x-tra reps with any qb could only help, they are all running the same plays.... I mean, I just don't want him to end up underachieving like Chris Brooks or after a year or so say, 'well, I'm going beisbol full time after all...' Just can't help but see some disruption in team unity there, especially amongst the receiving corps.
  3. You really think Bo would waste a scholarship on a baseball player if he had doubts of his Football ability? Honest question... Do baseball players even have a playbook they need to learn? Seems like you could get all the baseball practice you need in an hour at the batting cage on the way home from Football practice. Maybe get a neighbor kid to hit you some flies. Believe it or not, baseball players spend a lot of time practicing, traveling and playing games. Sounds to me like his heart is in baseball anyway - let the baseball team give the scholarship. He is going to in essence miss spring practice by playing baseball. If I was a kid that worked my butt off in spring practice and working with the number 1's, then someone like Cooper comes in the fall and takes my spot, I would be a little put off. I think either your dedicated to the football program or your not. Football takes a lot of time learning schemes, working in the weight room, etc. If your scholarship is coming from football, football should take all priority. I am not liking this idea of playing two sports, it don't work out well more than it works. What you will get is a mediocre player in two sports at best 99.9% of the time. And then he'll get injured in one sport, probably FB, etc., etc....... The injury thing aside, he was getting rave reviews in FB practice this past season. He could be a really good one, question as HT puts it how will missing Spring Ball affect him? I am not sure I buy into the team will be pissed mentality. He will still be there for the tough fall camp and that is where spots are generally earned. Yea, missing spring ball seems like a huge issue to me and the other thing is we REALLY need another WR, so if he's that good at it he's gotta get with the program. I just don't see how you can do it half a$$'d, receiving takes a helluva lotta skill, timing with the QB; when's he gonna get the reps w the QB? You mean other than Fall Ball? , I mean, usually rcvrs and qbs get together for hours on their own time to work on their timing.

  5. your attempts @ victory here are futile, board rules say '...no cats of any variety can win..'
  6. I think last nite was the 3rd nite in a row I fell asleep in bed with coffee cup in hand. Gotta wash the sheets again....
  7. Well, if Reesing is so great, KU should have beaten us last year coming off their 12-1 season(oh yeah, KU lost all those key guys... excuse) As it was, Joey et. al. carried the day! NE is making huge strides in roster depth. My SEC style prediction: NU 2, KU 0. NU punts on 1st downs the whole game to put our D back on the field(and get in KU's head--like, " are they doing?").
  8. yup. Plus, our QB play should be in pretty good shape by the time we play KU, but I suspect we will have a stout running game next year and rely on that more.
  9. Why ty Mr. 'Forever'! And, to your sage remarks rgdg KU I reply, . I guess the most tragic thing about 'not having a clue' is the not having a clue that one does not have a clue. BTW, s'up with KU Hoops this year? I just recently noticed-- and was shocked-- that they are not rated. WOW! Lost 6 players to the pros. That is not good for the quality. 2 players returned who got any time last year (neither starters) and everyone else is new or pretty much did not play last year in a meaningful way. That said, we are still the best team in the North most likely (not gonna win the Big-12 this year most probably, though) Some, most of those guys that left were just sophs, right? They all looked like MJ clones the few times I saw them play last year.

  11. Well, I was going to say it appears his future is in baseball, so he should go in that direction.....but I think we could really use his talents on the FB field!
  12. He's a real good back, and returner, like a waterfly that guy....doesn't seem to enjoy contact though. How come he only netted like 2 yds against us?
  13. *Big Red--eleventy bzillion. *FL Whozzit--whatever....
  14. But you do need no know her well enough to know you aren't going to catch something... one must always approach these things with an up to date 'screening' process.....'in hand'?

  16. yea, but the BCS rankings are influenced by the others when the BCS rankings start.
  17. You guys battling for second place and lower get nothing. While I, the winner, get it all. Muhahahahahahahaha. what, media attention? Face on People Mag?
  18. Thats crap! KU left a ton of points on the field!! Are you kidding me? Not to mention all the hoilding calls that we'rent called on you guys. See you in Lawrence my friend. I'm not sure I observed Kansas leaving a ton of points on the field in that game. There was one instance where KU drove to the 22 and was sacked out of field goal range. The resulting punt was fumbled by Swift giving KU the ball right back inside the 20. There were no other times during the game that KU stalled out or turned the ball over while on the verge of scoring. Nebraska on the other hand, fumbled at the 23 and threw a pick on the 36, in addition to that fumbled punt giving KU the ball back. Correct, if anybody left points on the field it was NE......and we did, at least 17.
  19. The dealio: 1)Briscoe is KU's only real threat 2)Reesing has peeked and we will beat him up next year more than we did this year. 3)Sharpe is your RB c'mon, that's just not gonna work: TOO SMALL! 4)Our offense will be better than KU's offense next year, even with a new qb. The letter 'Q' ring a bell? 5) (refer back to 2)
  20. I put Swifty in the 3 spot and I don't think I would put Mo P even in the top 10 since he wasn't here that long. Matt Davison is maybe in the 8-10 category. And, The Jet was more of a wing back/receiver than WR. I put Irving as #1 WR.
  21. 16? works for me.... Oh, I'm sorry, you talking about rankings? Sure, I'm N, gives us a good placement from which to climb from.
  22. Unless he's the 2nd coming of bO jAckson, I don't think he can do it. Stick to FB.
  23. new guy wins ya'll can go home now....oh, uh, u prolly are home.....nvm. new guy still wins!
