Tmart did not leave the team, that is a fact. Tmarts dad did not try and beat up Watsons kid before/during the bowl game. That is fact To many people want to believe in crazy stories, that is fact. Having an outlet for Tmart to pass too, like Green or Abdulla or Heard will make him look like a star, thats a fact. Who remember Marlon Lucky catching like 75 passes a few years back. That will be happening this year, in bunches.

Alabama won the NC two years ago with basically a solid running game and a passing QB who will probably be in the top 2 QB's selected and will probably have the longer of the two careers. Gregg McElroy? Is that who you are talking about? I guess I did not think he will one of the first two QBs taken in the draft. But you are right he was a passing QB. So we have him, flynn from LSU, did Luck win his BCS game? Then "running" qbs in BCS games that won, Newton, Pryor has won a few I thought, That dude from TCU, heck thats all I can remember.

Who was that last pocket passer that won a NC or even a BCS game for that matter?

The experience part is a joke, from some other boards. I also dont pay for Rivals, its not even that expensive but sure doesnt seem worth it.

THIS, I totally agree with right now. I didn't see the game, have only seen the highlights, but from everything I've read and heard, Carnes looked better in the spring game the other day. HOWEVER, based on what I've read from the coaches, it doesn't sound like they think that there's any meaning in that. It's also a spring game, with players divvied up in weird ways, and it's impossible to get a read on anything. Zach Taylor contributed at IB. Is he going to be a big contributor in the fall? Probably not. If Brion takes over the job from Taylor, fantastic. We'll have a freshman all-american as our backup, which would say something about the new starter. However, I'll wait to see Carnes in some real action before I start buying into the notion that he's the best QB on the team. If Carnes becomes the starter we won't have a freshman all-American back up because I highly doubt he'll be here. He's a lot like Eric Crouch in the sense that when things don't go his way he likes to let everyone know it and try to manipulate things to make it as such. To me that's T-Mart's biggest flaw. I know he had some of the Seniors on the team pissed off at him last year. Some of it was deserved and some of it not. Its kind of like when you decided you don't really care for someone. It becomes very hard to see what they do and say objectively even when they are right. You find a way to criticize the delivery of the message or just disagree with it altogether because you don't like them. I know TMart took a bunch of heat because he called out Niles Paul in the locker room for running his mouth and told him to stop blaming him and catch the damn ball. A bunch of the younger guys liked this because they were tired of Paul always hyping himself up but then never delivering. A bunch of the older guys got pissed because here was this guy who hadn't done anything and BTW has his own issues calling out their buddy. I guarantee that had Rex said that to NP it wouldn't have been as offensive. Either way. . he was right in the sense he needed to call out someone not getting it done as leaders do but he was very non leader like in the way he did it. I think this has to do with the way he was brought up and again. . it goes back to society's new issues not teaching people how to deal with adversity. I think the real question becomes how much of the team does TMart have behind him? Can he get back some of the guys he lost? Or will he implode? This is a really good post! Lots of time people decide to "hate" on a guy before they know him or because they think they are sticking up for a friend.

It seems like some of you are reading Jawbreakingsafetyplays threads on HI. Look, that guy is a super-virgin. He tosses out more rumor crap then anyone ever. So he hears stuff from a few players that are griping and its all true, how come the players he talks to arent lying or embelishing things??? See how that works? Generally speaking when you have guys on a team bad mouthing other guys on the team, its because the ones doing the bad mouthing arent playing and think that the coaches are "out to get them" T-mart is just like any other 20 year old kid, super great at times, super insecure at times, super fun at times, super lame at times. Only difference is, most 20 year old kids dont have a bunch of Super-V's attacking them and their family all the time. Think for a second, do you really think T-mart is trying to do well? I hate to pull out the coaching card but I have coached for 10 years, kids dont play football to try and do bad.

For some reason, T-mart bothers certain people and those people usually seem to be the ones that thought Lee was going to be the starter last year.

Lots of times its not that I turn it off, but I will be at bars with friends and kind of start chatting more. Also, if I go down to games I tend to leave early to hit the bars. Come to think of it, I might just be a fan of partying and not so much the Huskers! haha

The Rail is an interesting place. I think that back in 1993 it was tabbed as one of Playboys best college bars. I remember in the later 90's that they had a sign up that said that. The bathrooms in there are scary. Now, if you get there before a game it can be okay but at night it seems to be lots of peoples last stop. All I know right now is that my plan for Saturday is this. 8 of us heading down from Omaha at 9am. Hit the O street bars, not sure which ones, by about 10:15.

So, some of you might have noticed that most of my posts are about bars and drinking I don't live in Lincoln anymore but I am in Omaha now, which bars in Lincoln do you like before and after games? I know some of you will say Sidetracks but I have never been impressed with that place. I would rather go to a bar where the girls hair goes father down their bodies then their boobs do.

Seeing the other thread that started it got me wondering, will the Spring Game be on the Champions Club TV's?

I will echo what the guy in the post before mine said. Now, as of this moment it might not seem like a big deal to not have your brother around but once he leaves thats changes. Now, if Peat LOVES it here at NU and thats what he is telling he brother all the time, its pretty much a lock. Dont think for a second that it wont cross their minds to be the brothers that come to NU, start a bunch of games together and become "legends". Now, if he has a bad time his freshmen year, all bets are off. I know that lots of times brothers or cousins pretend like they tell the younger one "You have to do whats right for you" but that is BS, they tell them "Dude, you have to come here, its crazy!" or "Dont come here, I am thinking about leaving" With that said, have you seen the new Arizona State Unis? I woudl go play for them right now, they are SWEET!

I am gonna bump this. It looks like the weather might be better now, about 60 degrees and windy. Do any of you set up your own talegate? If so, where and what kinds of things do you bring and what kind of prep do you do for it? Or do your friends or family do it and if so, what do they do to get a good one? I have never set up my own, I just hit the bars then champions club if I have passes. So I am curious.

I don't want to take all the credit for my sweet joke, some of the credit goes to Larry Hope and his last name but I think I should probably get at least 75% of the credit.

If you dont, just go check HI Where would I fit in your little structure? I am on the record many, MANY times calling for Watson, Gilmore AND Cotton to be fired. I still can't believe Cotton is here for another year. Maybe he got the hint when we hired several other coaches to "assist" him with his position coaching. It has nothing to do with the fact that Cotton is a non-Callahan guy and everything to do with the fact that his line coaching has been sub-par. I guess you dont fit it, I didnt say that everyone did, you were the one that started it. I said people, that were mostly BCers were calling out Jake Cotton for being worthless. Turns out the guy is getting great reviews and might play some this year and could be really good down the line (or a total bust). I actually dont think we are arguing anything here. I dont care if Coach Cotton is on staff or not.

No kidding, this kid will play this year and probably start in another year, yet all the "experts" here (BCers) had this kid being buried on the depth chart at UNO.
