  1. So, some of you might have noticed that most of my posts are about bars and drinking I don't live in Lincoln anymore but I am in Omaha now, which bars in Lincoln do you like before and after games? I know some of you will say Sidetracks but I have never been impressed with that place. I would rather go to a bar where the girls hair goes father down their bodies then their boobs do.
  2. Seeing the other thread that started it got me wondering, will the Spring Game be on the Champions Club TV's?
  3. I will echo what the guy in the post before mine said. Now, as of this moment it might not seem like a big deal to not have your brother around but once he leaves thats changes. Now, if Peat LOVES it here at NU and thats what he is telling he brother all the time, its pretty much a lock. Dont think for a second that it wont cross their minds to be the brothers that come to NU, start a bunch of games together and become "legends". Now, if he has a bad time his freshmen year, all bets are off. I know that lots of times brothers or cousins pretend like they tell the younger one "You have to do whats right for you" but that is BS, they tell them "Dude, you have to come here, its crazy!" or "Dont come here, I am thinking about leaving" With that said, have you seen the new Arizona State Unis? I woudl go play for them right now, they are SWEET!
  4. So now it is looking like it might be 61 and windy for the Spring Game! That is much better then 47!

  5. I am gonna bump this. It looks like the weather might be better now, about 60 degrees and windy. Do any of you set up your own talegate? If so, where and what kinds of things do you bring and what kind of prep do you do for it? Or do your friends or family do it and if so, what do they do to get a good one? I have never set up my own, I just hit the bars then champions club if I have passes. So I am curious.
  6. I don't want to take all the credit for my sweet joke, some of the credit goes to Larry Hope and his last name but I think I should probably get at least 75% of the credit.
  7. Are we still doing this? Really? Sounds like another one of these experts has some growing up to do. I agree, they do have some growing up to do. Thanks for proving my point. Give it up. No one wants Callahan to be the coach here. Lets hope not! Thats not the point though, once the BCers realized they were totally wrong and that they could no longer support him, they turned on all things non-BC (Cotton) while sticking up for all things that had BC ties (Watson and Gilmore), you know its true. If you dont, just go check HI Where would I fit in your little structure? I am on the record many, MANY times calling for Watson, Gilmore AND Cotton to be fired. I still can't believe Cotton is here for another year. Maybe he got the hint when we hired several other coaches to "assist" him with his position coaching. It has nothing to do with the fact that Cotton is a non-Callahan guy and everything to do with the fact that his line coaching has been sub-par. I guess you dont fit it, I didnt say that everyone did, you were the one that started it. I said people, that were mostly BCers were calling out Jake Cotton for being worthless. Turns out the guy is getting great reviews and might play some this year and could be really good down the line (or a total bust). I actually dont think we are arguing anything here. I dont care if Coach Cotton is on staff or not.

  10. No kidding, this kid will play this year and probably start in another year, yet all the "experts" here (BCers) had this kid being buried on the depth chart at UNO.
  11. Yeah, it will end up over 60K for sure. If the weather holds, which it might not, but if it does and if it looks like it will be 60 and sunny, then it will be great. Girls will be dressed hot and guys will be looking!
  12. For those that are going for the first time, you might want to know that the second half will probably have a running clock. Keep that in mind if you plan on leaving at half time to get a drink and come back. The second half will just fly by. So when are people getting there? We plan to leave Omaha at 9am. Anyone hitting up any bars first?
  13. Spring game weather good? Its starting to sound like it might snowing!

I couldn't resist. Seriously though... I will cry if it snows.

  14. No idea! I have to pick them up still so I dont know the number, sorry
  15. Sky Box tickets have been obtained!
  16. Last year, I would have read and heard this and thought "Who cares he wont get to play" but this year it seems like the best players will play! There is also a feeling that even if a guy isnt great at say blocking, that he might still get in the game ON PASSING DOWNS because he is a threat!
  17. Simply a superb idea! Oh, I know the bluehairs would shoot it down but it makes perfect sense to me. Thank you! Of course the blue hairs would LOSE it over this idea. I always love the "I just don't see why you need a drink to enjoy a football game" line. Look, just because YOU dont see it, doesnt mean that 50,000 other people dont see it. Embrace the fun and the event instead of hating it. People are going to drink and party regardless so they might as well embrace it and make some cash off of it. Champions Club does it, I know I know, its not on school property, yeah, I know, its 15 feet from the stadium. Heck, you could even have people selling red cups, make that a rule, you need to have your stuff in a red cup at all times. They could even make money off of the sale of red cups.
  18. I think that NU gets so many more people because its an event now. People have decided to turn it into the 8th home game, its a chance to chat, meet girls, have fun, drink, hang with family. I sometimes dont even go to the game but just go to party. The game, especially the 2nd half, is usually pretty boring.
  19. RE: Items 1-4, while I'm 100% with you on these things, not only are we talking about UNL, we're talking about Lincoln, NE. Anything involving beer would NEVER fly. We're pushing it with the "beverages" in red cups on real Game Days. I think Item #5 is a fantastic idea. It's entirely too logical to work, though. I know, I wish you werent right but you are! I know that you can apply for a booze permit, frats do it about once a year when they have a tailgate with dads day and its never a problem, I am sure that UNL could do it too but of course you would have people that made a big big stink about it. If you get a chance, youtube "Ole Miss the Grove tailgating" thats how I wish it was. They embrace it. You can go to the Grove at midnight on Thursday and "claim" your spot and you start partying then. The video is safe for work and shows the very tame side of the grove, but its so cool!
  20. Personally, I think that the Spring Game should be used an experiment. Not so much for the game but for the fans...Things I would like to see tried during the spring game 1. Put it on TV 2. Open up beer stands right across from the campus, kind of like what Champions Club is 3. Open up beer stands in the tailgate area in front of the staduim 4. Let people carry their beers around in cups and have more trash bins 5. Have some "professional" tailgaters set up that are selling their food Its the Spring game, try a few different things, see what happens. Make it an "Event" not just a scrimmage.
  21. I go because of the cost of going to games. It may be my one chance during the year to actually be in the stadium for a day. I can't imagine what it's like to be close and have tickets to each game! I also get to see the folks and maybe my brothers. I'll be in Sec 22 this year. Hey Teacher, Hit me up if you've got any of those tickets laying around too!!!! I cherish any chance to go to a game. No problem
  22. I guess I look at it this way. Things I like include Warm weather Girls Drinking Football Party Atmoshphere Friends Now, all of those things (weather could go either way...then again...so can some girls if you know what I mean) will be there that day. Its a 50 mile drive from Omaha and on the cheap on you can spend about 30 dollars for the day and on the expensive end you can spend about 150 for the day. I plan on leaving Omaha at 9am and leaving Lincoln at around 6. Thats a great day To the poster above how said they have a hard time getting to games because of the cost, PM me. I get lots of free tickets that I never use. I would be happy to toss some your way.
  23. Wow, funguy! I think its more of a fun day, drinking, sun, friends.
  24. I can't wait, I love it. If its nice out the day turns out to be a fantastic time! Last year I think we hit Cliffs for a bit after the game and downed some shark-waters, nice!
