  1. Yeah true. What are the chances of Carnes seeing game time next year? Considering Green is a wash, and we like to run our QB's as much as we do, I'd say chances are pretty darn good. If Bubba Starling actually comes to school, I say there's a good chance Taylor doesn't start next year anyways. Chances are Bubba will go play baseball though.
  2. Huskers will put up some points against a horrific Washington defense and all the Watson apologists will rejoice!
  3. Methinks he's a little injury prone. We'll need solid depth at QB either way.

  5. I have toenail clippings that can out coach Shawn Watson. Seriously, this is a guy COLORADO fans don't even want back.
  6. Problem is, there are far to many "small" adjustments that have needed to be made for quite some time now (receivers not catching, o-line not getting the blocks, reverting back to play calling that hasn't seemed to work, etc). These are things I would have expected the 1st, maybe 2nd year. But well into the 3rd year, they're things that have yet to be corrected. Young players, injured players, first year in an evolving offense. Time is needed. Excuses are starting to get REALLY old. How much longer do we waste championship level defenses?
  7. If you turn the ball over 5 times and lose to a team like Oklahoma by only 3, and seriously think the defense is to blame for the loss, then you're mentally deficient. Sorry to be so blunt, but it's true.
  8. The Oline has improved quite a bit over the last three years hasn't it? I don't think Cotton is going anywhere.
  9. Pelini should be held responsible too. It's his job to either fire Wats or scale back how much control he has over the offense. Pelini is also largely to blame for the lack of discipline on his team.
  10. I'll give you Mizzouri. I really don't care what the rankings are. I'll take an offense ranked in the 60's as long as they don't keep commiting turnovers, penalties, or generally just keep shooting this team in the foot, which has sadly become the norm around here. Sooner or later Watson has to be held accountable on how his squad is performing, I defended him through all last season but I just can't bring myself to do it anymore. It's a shame we've had two championship level defenses wasted because of shoddy offensive play. Something has got to give eventually.
  11. I can't imagine why they weren't prepared to execute. Coaching has nothing to do with it I suppose.
  12. You didn't take results. Hence I offered explanation. But if you're not listening to explanation, there's really no point in discussing it. We have an offense in the 30s this year, and your excuse for that is "They didn't go up against good defenses, except for one, and even then, it wasn't for four quarters." Oh well. Right, you explained why we had so many poor games on the offensive side of the ball. Which was my whole point to begin with. We're not fielding a quality offense, excuses as to why we aren't don't change that. The reason we have a 30s offense (whoopie) this year is because of the horrible defenses we've faced. No reason at all why we shouldn't of hung 60 on a vastly inferior team like SDSU. I suppose our definition of quality and our expectations our just different. I won't apologize for having high expectations, it's what keeps programs like Nebraska successful.
  13. I'll take results over excuses on why we can't produce results any day. Excuses don't impress me.
  14. 5 turnovers cost us this game. Period.
  15. Wash - Mizzou - OK State - Kansas State - 414 yards a game - I don't know what to say. Sure it wasn't Herculean. But not a quality offense? South Dakota State, Texas, Texas A&M, Iowa State, Kansas, and Oklahoma would like to have a word with you. Mizzou is the only halfway decent defense of that bunch. We had a really, really good quarter against them. I remain unimpressed.
  16. I've just realized Shawn Watson can't be bothered to prepare his offense or make in-game adjustments because he's too busy making excuses for his shenanigans on the HuskerBoard under the username "zoogies". If you really believe we fielded a quality offense this year you're not paying attention.
  17. I can't take any team that loses to Minnesota seriously. Just can't do it.
  18. lol Iowa sucks. It was proven this year that their string of luck in '09 was just that, luck.
  19. 70%? You didn't actually watch the game did you? Taylor was moving fine for most of the game. Started limping again in the 4th quarter. How many games is Watson going to have to cost us before you see the big picture? Look at our losses the last two years... it's pretty obvious the offense is holding this team back. In a HUGE way. Are they not? With plenty of talent to go around Wats hasn't been able to field a quality offense. Period.
  20. I think Cody's grandma would have stood a chance there on some of those sacks Taylor took. Slight exaggeration but I'd be surprised if Cody took sacks with all kinds of time like Taylor did. Then, maybe he throws some picks or fumbles so you never know. He had time on a few plays and made boneheaded plays by not throwing the ball away. But for the most part the o-line was getting torched all night. Let's be honest with ourselves here.
  21. Look at it this way, at least that stupid zone read works against slow moving defenses, like in the Big Ten. Somebody should have told Wats running sideways doesn't work against speed. Then again, if he was an average coordinator he would already know that.
  22. Oh just fire his @ss. This Shawn Watson joke is no longer funny. Really.
