  1. I am so glad that the fans dont have any say in who gets hired and what his contract consists of!!!!!
  2. For 99% of Husker fans this would go without question under a new coach. I think for the long haul, "we" should expect the minimum to be 10 wins with 12 regular season games, a shot at CCG, and a bowl game. Anything less, and "we" might as well not expect anything and just give a coach a 25 year contract so that he can retire at NU with no worry of job performance. I dont want to settle for mediocre. I have no faith that Cally could have consistently kept NU above mediocre. 9-4 isnt much of above mediocre in the grand scheme of things imo. This is why Nebraska will become a revolving door for coaches!! Diehard --- well done. You are absolutely correct. The NU fan expectation is absurd. Unrealistic expectations makes life very rough for coaches and players. Until the fan base gets realistic then yes, revolving doors is what we'll get. Though another 5 or 6 years of ca. .500 or so play and 1/2 the seasons without bowl games would fix those expectations the hard way. I'd rather just take what we can get, hope for the best and cheer them on hoping for improvement and having realistic expectations. So what should us Husker fans accept as realistic expectations? I'll never get the answer to my next question, but I wonder if someone like a Pete Carroll would ever sign on with an NU with a non-high bar being set. My Huskers have been a winner until this Cally debacle. As a fan, why should I be satisfied with less? I'd rather coach at a place that expects excellence and will give me everything I needed to reach those expectations than coach at a place where the fans are wishy-washy and will "take what we can get". I think thats the most defeated attitude I've ever heard from a Husker fan. You think someone like a Pete Carroll would come here with a NON-HIGH BAR BEING SET? This NON-HIGH BAR being no more than two losses a year?!?!?!?
  3. Like this was the first time a NU team has worn all white. Give me a break we wore them the entire 02 season and that was with Frankie and all of TO's assistant's. If I'm not mistaken we wore them in 92 and before as well. Unless your name is a play on words Billy C came up with that. You better hurry and change it. It doesn't have anything to do with the "tradition" of Husker football. People are really starting to reach for things to bitch about. Im going to go ahead and blame global warming on BC!

  6. zzzzzzzzz. I guess that means he's not going to answer your question..... I figured that would be his answer... Who needs credibility anyway? I would rather make up stories to fit my agenda too.
  7. Hunter94 are you going to answer my question? I would really hate for you to damage your credibility...
  8. Are you a little worried that Callahan will be here next year?
  9. Im sure the rest of Husker Nation cares about how you feel...
  10. You are presuming that he has already formed an opinion. Yeah, I think he is going to make a coaching change too, but Osborne has steadfastly said all along that he has not made up his mind, and he will evaluate the coaches at the end of the season. like many have said, i think TO has been making lots of calls to players and others connected with the program (since he became AD) since cally's tenure, trying to get feedback on how this regime functions. i suspect he has made up his mind by now. you know he is interested in more than just W's, but how the kids have been handled by these coaches. all the incidents with Octavien, Bowman and others are probably the tip of the iceberg of what has been going on with the D and it sure appears callahan has not got involved much with helping out ole coz, even though he has been excellent in all areas...... What incidents with Octavien and Bowman are you talking about? Did I miss something? Yes, Billy C. I see you cant answer the question either. Im guessing that this is a rumor that somebody started just to stir the pot...
  11. What's his name did start the comparison. He and I continued it. Which question should I answer? You may have asked more questions as well, but I don't want to dig through your posts to look. Valid question? Opinions vary. And they say there is no such thing as a dumb question!! Thanks for playing. BEAT CU!! don't waste your time with this guy. You bring up Mangino and his position coaches being great. Clone says it took Mangino SIX years to have a decent team. If this GREAT coach was at Nebraska he would have been run out of town a LONG time ago. You are saying that Mangino Is a GREAT coach because he beat us twice in 4 years? Im glad you arent hiring the new coach!
  12. ... thanks for playing. Hunter94 brought up Magino... Maybe you should go back and read the thread.

I havent heard of any so I was hoping you could enlighten me.

  15. Hes too busy patting himself on the back. Most of the crap he was saying I could read on other sites.
  16. Where are all the Callahan supporters that you are talking about? Do you call people supporters just because they dont pile on Callahan and constantly bash him?
  17. Exactly. Hawkins has a reputation for running trick plays simply because he coached at Boise, but he really hasn't run many trick plays at all this year. He ran a fake fumble/pass play earlier in the year (that was awesome, by the way), but other than that he really hasn't run any outright deceptive plays at all. Except for the "If you don't get a first down or get out of bounds with 17 seconds left in the game, have your players stand around like idiots until you burn the clock down to 1 second then try to kick a field goal after time expires and complain that you got screwed when the refs don't allow it" trick he tried to pull last week...that was one we didn't see coming. What game were you watching? We kicked two field goals in that time frame, one from 50 and one from 55, only in the Big 12 can a college kicker kick back to back 50+ yard field goals and have them waived off if you are on the road. Mike Leach is right, the officiating in the Big 12 is the Big Joke, and ironically I root for UT after CU because that is my father's alma mater and I grew up a Horn. Either get some refs that have no allegiance to a Big 12 school or just contract out to those retards in the Sun Belt Conference, at least then you cannot claim bias, you can only claim idiocacy. I claim neither bias nor idiocy...I claim VICTORY! Yes...ISU 31 - CU 28. We win! You lose! Losers! Losers! Bwahahaha! Sweet victory! Same type of feeling that the Huskers will be enjoying after they manhandle Hawkins and his gang of thugs. By the way, in case I forgot to mention this: ISU 31 - CU 28! Losers! Losers! Bwhahahaha Also, could you please educate me as to what this idiocacy is? Is this a new form of government like a democacy or some sort of secret society that only CU fans know about?
  18. I love how you guys have taken up referring to him as a noun "The Ganz", rather than a proper noun "Joe Ganz". It makes him sound like some horrible form of venereal disease or something... "nah man, I can't go out tonight, that girl I hooked up with last week gave me The Ganz... it's effin brutal, dude." Im sure most buffs fans know all about venereal diseases... Most of them originated in Boulder. Its nice to see you can live with it and even joke about it. Good for you.
  19. Its not hard to see at all. If people look at everything with blinders on they will see what they want. Most of the people posting in this thread only want to see the negative because of their hate for Callahan. I would much rather look at everything and not dwell on the negative. Callahans going to be gone soon enough and I dont feel like kicking the man while he is down...
  20. Wally --- I like that No, I am not Callahan. I do however think that right and reasonable behavior is it's own reward and that it would be great if we as a fan base were classy and great sports in both victory and in defeat. Nebraska is a great place. We long ago had to leave Nebraska for a job but still see that state as a special place. Frankly, I have been surprised that we as fans have been so classless (again, not everyone, but many). Perhaps it is just an outcrop of the internet age --- anyone can post in representation of a group and all it takes is certain critical mass of posters with poor behavior before the thing goes south. In any event, I, and I can only speak for myself, am more saddened by the fan response than what it that the fans are responding to. It's not the entire fan base...it's just them damn hillbillies from Cozad. I agree. Its those damn Haymakers. When I was growing up in Lexington I had a great hatred for Cozad. I didnt understand why but now I know!!! Thanks Cy
  21. So a death threat isnt serious? How old are you?!?! 12?? Im sure its serious enough to get the guy some jail time. Hopefully on top of what ever the law does to him the University bans the a-hole from anything UNL related.
