  1. great all the way. but not best ever. comin back from 17-7 down in the 4th quarter against miami in the national championship orange bowl game of 94. that was way better because it was to decide a champion. and it came with us losing 7 consecutive bowl games (most to miami and fsu in the orange bowl, but dont get me started on the 93 fsu game) sacking costa in the end zone to make it 17-9 then getting a touchdown from schlesinger and nailing the 2pt conversion. holding them to almost no offense in the 4th quarter and getting the game winning touchdown drive goin with tommie frazier getting a big first down and handin off to schlesinger again up the middle for the game winner. we really killed that miami defense in the 4th quarter. and it was so bittersweet because it looked like the same old game they beat us in for the longest time and we overcame it. almost too good to be true at the time. then boom it was over and we brought that championship back home to lincoln. as you can tell i really love that game and 94 team. that one has to be at the top of greatest comebacks EVER.
  2. well i've watched it and it was close. but a fact that he was down short of the goal. but its a game of inches and refs haveta make quick judgement calls and i dont blame them. i wouldve probably made the same call. so close that it coulda gone either way. i still dont understand that catch either. he was clearly out of bounds and never had a foot in with the ball. how is that not 'indisputable evidence'? as they claim they need. it was clear obvious and appearant.
  3. no panic. i knew we could easily win if our offense moved the ball. but i had to wait 3 full quarters before that happened lol i had faith in our D the whole way
  4. great game he played. he's definetly up there. i've been tracking this guy since we recruited him last year and he really likes to make plays on the ball. im glad to see this and him flying all around the ball like he did tonight!
  5. i agree. bad calls are getting outta control in football. i heard an idea years ago that really should happen no joke. after every game have the referees in a live press conference and ask them questions on the calls they made. question the reasoning behind calls. because they'll call something one minute and not call it the next minute. this not bein able to hit the QB thing is ridiculous. whats a player supposed to do? put on the brakes and fall to the ground if the qbs sits back to throw? what if they pump fake it? ive seen players coming at the QB in one motion while he's throwin the ball and get called for a personal foul. it's not fair. its called football. i understand cheap hits but gimme a break. the QB is a player on the football field just like everyone else. also don't like these late hit out of bounds calls. players will tip toe the line and when they see a player come at them they get outta bounds real quick at the last second. and the player gets called for a 15 yarder. whats that player supposed to do? stop the pursuit? again what if the player makes a move inside? again it forces a player to stop his pursuit of another player early. leaving them extra chances to gain more yards. and im not saying this because it's a bad rule. i agree with the not late hitting out of bounds. but i've seen a hundred bad calls on this the past 5 years or so. and its ruining football. something seriously needs to be done about this. one other thing. if they are gonna make these calls as much as they do. there should be a difference in yards penalized between a blatent personal foul, cheap hit, late hit, etc then one that a player gets that is questionable and in the motion of hitting the player as they're throwing/going out of bounds. its making questionable calls help start a drive for one team. its not fair. and most of all it's not football.
  6. we have a very sluggish and inconsistent offense right now. i see us getting better down the road. but our defense is gonna be carrying the weight for our team. and i have no problem with that whatsoever.
  7. great sportsmanship. i always like to see that. it was honestly a great game by both teams. defense is the name of the game. the most important thing in football. and both teams played great on defense no doubt. until the 4th quarter you guys played a PERFECT game on defense. wish ya the best of luck the rest of the season!
  8. yeah i noticed it a few times. i also noticed on the missouri sideline they kept moving the yellow marker. it didnt really matter and i dont think it was intentional but it was a good yard or 2 off a couple times. not that it mattered anyways it was a little deceiving. yeah the horse collar wasnt the right call but it close enough to being called. refs gotta go by judgement calls some they get wrong some they get right. im just glad it didnt cost us the game. we really stepped it up when we had to. there were alotta calls in the game that were questionable honestly. on both sides. i still honestly believe that gabberts knee was down on the 1 yard line i've looked at it over and over and it was a great play by the defense. and its saying something about our defense when their only touchdown of the game comes on a 4th down and is THAT close. don't have a problem with the call though since it happened so fast. once again its a judgement call and i would've probably made the same call. good to see a bama fan on here. huskers are my pride. always will be. but bama is also one of my favorite college football teams always has been. i wish you well in your game against ole miss over the weekend ill be rootin for ya.
  9. and when he gets ahold of someone. its done. he doesnt let go.
  10. the polls dont usually show us any respect. most of the AP voters are on the east coast and this was a late late game especially in the east so i bet most of the voters didnt watch most of the game and just go by the stats. if anything our defense proved we can be ranked up there with anyone. defense wins championships. i know our offense was sluggish and inconsistent but i see it improving over time. like i said our defense will be our backbone to carry the load and thats always something you see in the best football teams. i'd say top15 mostly cause im biased but it all depends on what the teams ahead of us do. i doubt the polls will show us too much respect but hopefully im wrong
  11. true. im not arguing with the rule. im saying that since that's the rule. ive seen it called wrong plenty of times. especially to teams who ALWAYS get the benefit of the doubt. and it makes me sick to see teams get the call wrong in there favor and we don't. its a bad rule. plain and simple.
  12. no one said it was a conspiracy. it was just a crappy situation that couldve gone better for us. and like i said earlier i've seen it called wrong plenty of times. just so happens to get called right when it affects us.
  13. i'm not gonna get into the whole "correct rule" argument whatsoever. but i can tell you something that is true. i've watched football since i was 5 years old and i've seen atleast 200 catches just like that where the exact same thing happened and it was ruled a touchdown. just since instant replay came out i've seen it many times reviewed and STILL called a touchdown. i cant remember exact moments or games cause i never seen the call hurt a team so badly. but i assure everyone here that if the call against us was right. then i've seen it called wrong HUNDREDS of times. and like i said even have seen it reviewed and STILL called wrong. so that's something to think about. i know it's football sh#t happens and refs have to make calls quick. i know they're gonna be wrong sometimes and everyone in the world makes mistakes. but i personally believe that those officials did not want us to get in the endzone. argue with me all you want but i know it's a fact. and in a game that was as close as it was. ONE CALL like that can lose the game for ya. that's all i gotta say about that.
