  1. This was cover two and he defiantly messed up his assignment. In almost ever cover two situation your assignment as the two safeties is: On Pass - deep halves no one behind On Run - Late support fill the alley between the CB and LB to your side. Even though the corner allowed Coale to release free to the outside, (which goes against cover 2 principle and opposite of what Prince is doing on the other side) O'Hanlon's eyes are on Tyrod the whole time. He doesn't even realize Coale is streaking down the sideline until he is at the NU forty. He opened up to the right side back to the threat and bite about as hard on the pump fake as Suh did.
  2. The rumor is that his LEFT, non throwing hand is the one that's hurt. His throwing hand is fine.... I hope so. I would prefer both hands be fine. ME TOO!! I didnt notice Lee favoring his hand, but wouldnt surprise me if he hid it from the coaches. I think we would have heard by now if Lee wasnt going to be able to play. I think we will see more from Green this weekend, and MAYBE Washington!? I do believe that Zac Lee will play on Saturday. But for your information the only he would be obligated to know is the 2 deep. It would be terrible for coach Pelini to announce that Zac is hurt and cant play. Why update the other team?
  3. If he would have held on to the ball then the challenge would have come from the booth. The fact that the ball was laying on the ground make the knees down foot down decision irrelevant. If a receiver is on the sideline and lays out for a ball they must do two things. 1) Tap one foot in bounds 2) Have control of the ball even after they hit the ground. The fact that he lost the ball confirms that he didn't not have control, thus no reason to review if he got a knee of foot in.
  4. It easy to make fun of the big ten, but we have Iowa State, Colorado, Texas ATM, and Kansas State getting blow away. If you throw in Baylor half the conference is consistanly garbage.
  5. I am fairly new to the board and this was my first fair well tour post. I think that is pretty funny, was he expecting a bunch of well wishes? I dont know about you guys but at work I have browser open throughout the day and I try to stay up to date with all of our news breakers on the site. This site is a real help to get through the sometime slow work days for me. I also had my first game day thread that was alot of fun until the end of the game.
  6. What did this game show us about the 2009 Huskers? Is it just me or does it seem that a lot of people are let down because of the amount of stock placed on the dominance displayed for the last two weeks against terrible competition?
  7. everyone should have known that's what we were getting with him. Exactly When he was being hired the quality that people tried to sell was him being fiery. I wouldnt have a problem with his Post game if we was as futrated with stupid question after the first two wins. Take the good with the bad. Part of your Job as head coach is to sit and talk to media win or lose. We gave BC crap for not only talking down to the media but the fans as well. The media asked the same questions that people asked on this board from 6PM last night to the present.
  8. Out of the teams that lost #3 USC #7 BYU #14 GT and #18 Utah. If you look at what happened the week before I think we will hold between 23 - 25. It will depend on what they choose to do with Utah who also lost since they are 18 and we 19 it just depends. Missouri, Pittburgh, and UCLA will probaly move in.
  9. I hope we dont continue to hear talk of a fix or out to get NU. Penalties: Nebraska 9-60 V Tech 7-53 Surely we dont believe that 7 yards lost us this game. If you go through the game thread from yesterday alot of people made reference to all the calls going NU way in the first half. I even read a couple that said "I would be pissed if I was a V tech fan on that call, oh well go big red." We can't have it both way the offense need to be fixed and the defense has to fix its holes to be fixed.
  10. Since the ball came out a challenge would have done us no good. In the endzone it is always looked at differently. Maybe a little better pass by Lee but Holt needs to come up with that catch. Thats what separates a decent reciever from a good or great one.
  11. With the lead in the 4th quarter, 4th down and Goal from the 40, what was the coach to do? Try the field goal? This would be good considering it would match the distance of Alex Henery's 57 (10 yards to the goal post from the goaling, and the 7 yard most kickers take to get the ball up with out contact) however, if the kick is missed you know have given the team the ball on the 40, or it could be returned. V-Tech is know for block kicks espically of distance. There are many things to second guess, but the offense let the team down. You have the ball in the redzone pretty much all game and cant get in the endzone. 40 yards of penaltys that cant be blamed on the refs. It was a bad showing.
  12. Yeah I guess, but what will the win we get prove. We can score at will against a terrible conference and cant a win against an equally inept offense. V-Tech won the game congrats to them but they were not a very good team. I am going on the record and saying they will be beat by Miami. Watching the game I got that we were equally as talented as them with them having a little more speed at tailback. October will be a very interesting month for this team. It can be 4 - 0 or 2 - 2. We will see where yeteray lost takes the team.
  13. Hes not being considered. Lee played terrible yes. But if Green was on his heels he would be in the game. Let not forget he had little help from his O-line and many drop on catchable balls. Holt being the biggest contributor to the drop list. I have been trying my hardest to have people take a step back and realize this team has yet reached the turning point. Even though the secondary didnt give up a lot of yards Tyrod Taylor isnt exactly your pick you apart QB. The d line seemed content to stand on the line of scrimmage than really rush. I think this was playing scared not to get beat by his legs. If you check the stat line I would say they were successful. Alot of people are giving O'Hanlon crap for blowing coverage while the grief needs to go to Anthony West for staring in the backfield.
  14. You are spot on here Knapplc. Come on guys we are a better fan base than this. Why sit and what if about a player that was kicked off the team for rules violations. What question will be posed next: What if Joe Ganz had another year? What if Cody Green was under center? What is Suh was in the back field? The coach is the best jugde of talent due to the fact that they are in constant contact with the players. If th ituation would have been better with any other player on the team i'm sure they would have played. Please note I said on the team. Wish Mr Castille the best in his future endeavors and commend your coach on making the diffucult choice.
  15. Suh doesnt need to do that. Lee needs to do that. Well, i agree with what you are saying but Lee proved today he is not a leader, he plays well, we win.. Suh is a leader, and a quiet one at that.. if he gets vocal players WILL take note Not every player needs to be a rah rah guy. Sometimes you need them to step up on the field not running your month. Suh did what he needed to do. He shed blocks, made tackles, and helped limit tyrod to negative yards rushing. Tonight Suh lead the team in tackles and pass breakups. That to me speaks more than yelling and screaming lets go guys.
  16. Dude...it's absolutely un-f'ing-believable how much of a meltdown this board is in. We played well in a very hostile stadium against a good VaTech team. You'd think we just lost to App St or something. So now Lane Stadium is a hostile stadium: All week I heard people down play the crowd with comment like this: THE FANS DONT PLAY ITS 11 ON 11 Stadium doesn't decide the score Doesn't effect the defense ETC We need to stop with the excuses. I am not calling for any coaches head or player to be benched. The coaches got out coached, the offense couldn't move the ball when it counted, and the defense relaxed on the most important play of the game. End of story. So now all of us are Bo Pelini? Unfortunatly it wasn't just Bo saying go through the thread and you will see.

  18. Penalties lost the game? Nebraska: 9-60 V Tech: 7-53 I would say the offense lost QB and WR drops lost the game.
  19. That is true except for when it comes to a touchdown. You have to control the ball all the way to the ground in the endzone.
  20. Glad we got some kinda points on the board but that was terrible. I was suprised they didn't bring pressure on the kick.
  21. HAHAHAHAHA oops I meant 37-30 DUH I haven't had a laugh like I did after reading your original post in a long time.
  22. Damn!!!!! Was that post written with fire and brimstone?
