  1. Don't get to confident about those team losing QB's If you look around the Big 12 and the country a lot of quarterbacks are coming from LA, TX and OK. I don't know what OK has lined up but you know Texas doesn't have a bare cupboard.
  2. Exactly, if Ganz would have been made the starter that year that would have been shocking, but agreed guys that leave programs will look for the easy in. Paulus would have had a huge uphill climb at NU. Yeah against such an advanced opponent in Zac Lee with all his starts and career touchdowns. Lets not act like both of these guys aren't coming into the season with the same type of experience. Yeah Paulas has been away from the game but he was highly touted out of high school with many accolades. King of flop or not his competitiveness and willingness to win cannot be denied. I think it will be interesting to see what both of these first year quarterbacks do.
  3. Jen, I would have to agree with you. The opinion of people are skewed by the 5* player attributes in the game. I have heard people say certain receiver aren't good or fast because they he only runs a 4.5. A lot of people have lost touch with how fast a 4.2 and a 4.3 is. They also seem to think that a 4.6 or 4.7 receiver cannot get it done. The one thing I will say though is even in game recruiting I still find my self recruiting speed. If the player has behavior problems and runs a 4.1 or 4.2 I know people will still offer him a scholarship. Its the same thing in real life yet people act like it should be different. 5* recruit with a history but he runs a 4.2. The coaches and administrations at most schools will sell their souls to bring that player in.
  4. Your going to tell me about 8 man tackle and 7 on 7? Really? My statement was one of the biggest district did not have middle school football until recently. As I look into it further Lincoln Public school does not have Middle school football either. So two of the biggest district population wise are behind the eight ball when it come to middle school football. That would be Lincoln and Omaha. Omaha I believe is in there 2nd year of middle school football. FYI They play 7 on 7 along with flag football in most elementary schools. 7 on 7 passing camps are used by the major football states as a tool when football cannot be practiced due to state practice regulations. not as a supplement to actual football.
  5. so god is a villian? That's why I thought it was funny
  6. While I agree with what was stated by many above. One of the reason for decline is overall there is not as big of a commitment to youth football in the state as in some of the power states. Omaha Public School which by far is one of the biggest district in the state did not have middle school football until recently. So you have a lot of kids that play pee wee football when they are young and then have a big lap in between that time and High School. Places like Texas, Cali, PA, and FL have football or basketball athletics during class time. This is not P.E. it is the substitute. Instead of being in PE with a bunch of druts (Turd backwards) you are surrounded by every player on the team working towards getting better within your sport. High School football coaches in this state really can't make a living working as a coach alone you are mostly required to teach and coach as well. In the state before mentioned the head coach doesn't teach. During the school day he is able to reviews film and is able to evaluate talent to put the players in the best position to be successful.
  7. Wow #13. Hurricane Katrina -- Act of God, 2005 Don't take this wrong because I know it's not at all funny with all the lose and suffering that occurred and continues to take place. But somewhat kind of funny to me that its on the list as a villain.
  8. Turning point? Its really surprising to me that after a mediocre 9 - 4 season everyone is jumping up a down claiming NU is back. If you break down the record 3 of the nine wins were weak non conference opponents. The four loses that NU had were to teams that finished the season with over 10 wins. Lastly in conference NU finished 5 - 3. I think it pathetic that people held that up as a banner. "We tied for the Big 12 North" big deal. So to me the turning point has not occurred. In order for NU to be back they have to beat one of the four digit win teams from last year out of VT, Missouri, TT, or Oklahoma. In closing, looking ahead to the VT game which people now seem to think there is an edge. 1) Beamer ball will be in full effect and they will dominate specials teams. 2) Running back by committee will be affective as they still have Tyrod Taylor. 3) Baylor will be watching the Mr. Taylor led offense closely and if VT is successful expect to see a carbon copy in a Griffin led bears offense.
