  1. Rex? Is that you? No, but I can dream.
  2. Unfortunately, the DT from Katy is going to Oklahoma. The QB and WR from the other team (Cedar Hill) are going to Texas A&M. Another kid, I forget the position is going to Arkansas St. There one other D-1 prospect that is uncommitted. Not bad, 6 D-1 prospects in one State final game. The player going to Arkansas St. is the QB from Cedar Hill, Damion Hobbs. Taylor is an excellent recruit for Nebraska and I am glad he didn't commit to Texas or Texas A&M like it seems most of the talented high schoolers in Texas seem to do. For example.... Kenny Hill the QB at Southlake Carroll is an amazing player and he committed to A&M to play behind Johnny Manziel for the next three years, barring any injuries or early draft for Manziel.
  3. It is really hard to see Rex hurting. All of his Plano fans love him and are so proud of his success and the love and respect the Nebraska faithful have shown him. Since I see zero chance of a Cornhusker national championship this year (sorry guys), I personally believe it is time for Rex to rest and get better, so he can fulfill his life long dream of playing in the NFL.
  4. NEBRASKA - 9 MICH ST - 31 Rush: 195 Pass: 153 I made this prediction after another painful last minute Plano loss. We sure miss you Rex. I sure hope you prove me wrong.
  5. Even with Martinez at full speed it could be a tough game. You all seemed to forget here that Iowa State beat Texas (in Austin), a team the handled Nebraska (easily I might add) at home. ISU takes great pride in beating Nebraska and every generation or so they prove. I recall, when I was at Ames in the fall of 76 and 77, two back to back victories. I am a huge Rex and Plano Senior backer (he is not from Plano East like the idiot on ABC has said the last two weeks), but I still have that little tug in my heart back to the days of yore.
  6. I'm biased, so I'll go with Burkhead on a wheel. Since he is new on the collegiate level, he'll sneak by everybody and be wide open for 6 from around 40 yards out. Shake it up.
  7. Well said, Sheep.... As a huge Rex fan, I was just hoping he could get into the game, late for some mop up duties or come in as third down slot back. He guy flat out leap and will catch anything near him. This is a lot of pressure on him a little too early in his career. It's not like playing at SMU, where he could of been an impact player his whole career. (I was hoping he would stay closer to home, so Rick and Robyn and a third of Plano could still watch him play in person).
  8. http://journalstar.com/news/opinion/blogs/...1cc4c002e0.html Three out of five backups from Texas. Gotta love that Texas high school football. As Walter Brennan use to say in "The Guns of Will Sonnett", "No brag, just facts". How's that for dating yourself. GBR
  9. I guess depending on which poll you followed; wasn’t Euless Trinity closer to #1 in the nation last year? As for taking contact, he is very tough. For as many touches as he has had, I can only recall one time where he was slow getting up. The only time I saw him limping was in a playoff game against Trinity, in 2008, at the end of a double OT loss, (that Trinity team was huge). A game in which was rumored, that he played sick. I really don’t fully agree with your statement about being blown up by some D1 players, but I can think of one instance where that is true. There was only game in his senior year, where every team keyed on him, that he was held for less than a 100, actually less than 50 yards. Nikita Whitlock and the Wylie Pirates beat the heck out of our OLine and should have won that game, if they would have a wide receiver that could catch a ball that hit them in the hands. Nikita went on to be the Texas 5A Defensive Player of the Year and will be playing this fall at Wake Forest. I wish Nitika a lot of success at WF. He was amazing to watch, also. Side note: I just rechecked my stats and in the first game of his senior season Rex, only had 76 yards, but I recall he was pulled for most of the fourth in a one-sided victory.
  10. Rex is truly a team player. I have watch that young man play football and basketball, since he was in the 7th grade. He will play his heart out to win, but he will do it with class. No cheap shots and no show boating when he gets into the end zone. He has been there before, but I imagine he will be a little excited when he does it in front of 80K cheering fans. You guys are in for a real treat getting to watch him mature as a college player. Rex was the first freshman to play for Plano Senior, since like 1964 and unfortunately his first few games of sharing FB duties he looked like a freshman, but he learned quick. He helped the team make it deep into he playoffs, where the got beat by the eventual state champs and quarterback Chase Daniels. Come on, Rex. Quit referring to yourself in the third person. Geez, and I was worried about sounding like his daddy/java script:emoticon('',%20'smid_22')

I need to correct this last statement... the timing isn't right for it to have been Chase Danie, so it must of been Southlake Carroll coach's son Riley Dodge. I shouldn't rely on my mind, that far back, sorry.
