  1. We'll have a shot but the margin for error will be a lot tighter for the Huskers than Kansas or Texas Tech. How many holding calls did the Sooners have tonight? I'm thinking 4 or 5 but several were declined. As crazy as this year is getting they probably will beat Texas!!!
  2. Sorry but I did absolutely nothing to have beer poured on us from above as we left Folsom nor was I doing anything to get my vehicle damaged other than sleeping in our room. My crime would be wearing red and having a Nebraska license plate. You failed to mention the in stadium incidents I mentioned BB or do you attribute that to myths also.. I'm pretty sure I saw an entire student section removed during a beating the Huskers put on you. I'm pretty sure I saw the lazer light shining on an OK State qb during a play but maybe ESPN doctored up the video's. These and the buff's poor attitudes are not myths, they are factual and reported by a lot of Husker fans that attend games in Boulder. I've been there. Don't try and bs me.
  3. Try some Hot Damn with that apple cider sometime! In fact Hot Damn and Apple Puckers works too!
  4. Sorry Buff. These are personal experiences that many of us have had. I've been to Boulder and seen some of the rudest people in my life before, during and after the game. While all teams have their idiots and poor sports it seems a larger percentage of CU fans fit that description. Our vehicle was egged and keyed there. I had beer poured on us as we left the stadium. Yelled at and taunted the evening we arrived. You name it and then we all have seen the behavoir displayed on television of their fans. Clearing out a whole section of students because of their actions, throwing snowballs or batteries, lazer lighting opposing players. If you want to do something about it I'm afraid you need to address it with CU fans and not on a Husker board.
  5. And then of course the great Michigan goes down to their little brothers from East Lansing. That made my day already!! Don't worry about Iowa. Congratulate our neighbors for taking Penn State out of the national championship picture. Iowa will lose soon enough.
  6. As of late USC made a run at it but fell short. Now Florida is looking like they could be at least compared to that string that the Huskers had. Don't forget that the Huskers also played Florida State for all the marbles the year before the string of NC's started. I don't see anyone matching Osborne's record of his last 5 years. I do see the Huskers getting into the top 10 on a more consistant basis however much the same as the Huskers were excluding those 5 seasons.
  7. Nebraska 48 Misery 17 rushing 256 passing 210 Gabbert throws 2 pics and loses a fumble
  8. Nascar is in KC this wekend. Arrowhead probably won't be the busiest place in town.
  9. Like I said before. A 4-4 Missouri team on Halloween headed back from Boulder. Their fans can wear Jayhawk caps and trick or treat as winners!!! Winning this game will do nothing as far as national image but is a first step towards the north division title. In all actuality any game on the Husker's schedule excluding the Sooners is not going to reap much nationally. Iowa State, K State, Mizzou, Colorado, Baylor. Basically all the same. Win one and not much. Lose one and it's headlines. Is Nebraska back? Not even close yet. But unlike Mizzou, we have at least been there.
  10. Still trying to talk yourself into thinking you're going to win this game Doc? Do you think you have changed anyone's mind here of what to expect? So I guess there is only one person you're really trying to convince........ Take a break, enjoy some other teams over the weekend for a change. Try and get a little balance in your life. It'll help with the depression you'll feel after Thursday night.
  11. You done palming yourself yet? I guess if you gotta beat something it beats a dead horse!! ...............
  12. Some weird stuff some of you are drinking. Sure you aren't CU fans? I prefer a man's beer, Busch Light or Bud. Maybe a shot of crown if I'm lagging a bit. Keep it under you're hat but if I'm going to the game I buy a monster lemonade outside the stadium, poor half of it out and fill it back up with vodka. Works like a charm. It tides me over until I get to the press box!!!!
  13. It's pretty sad knowing what the CU fans are going through........... so why am I grinning! But if you look back through the history of CU football they have a lot of 1, 2, and 3 win seasons. About once every decade or so they get a respectable team. It's like skiing dude! You start at the bottom, slowly get to the top and as fast as you can go, get back to the bottom. Welcome to Colorado!
  14. I have to go with Brad Smith as the best qb the Tigers had against the Huskers also. Granted I don't make a habit of watching MU but he was a one man crew! Who was it? Corbie Jones? He was alright and caused teams fits and the qb back in the mid to late 70's that beat the Huskers in back to back years? MU has had some pretty good COLLEGE qb's over the years.
  15. I think great practices will determine when rather than game scores.
  16. NOW more facts for Tiger Tim and hsi believers. WE OWN MIZZOU! A record of scores from 1978 to 2003.... bookend wins for the nations leading football team 1978- NU 31/ MU 35 note, a Misery win 1979- NU 23/ MU 20 1980- NU 38/ MU 16 1981- NU 6/ MU 0 1982-NU 23/ MU 19 1983- NU 34/ MU 13 1985- NU 28/ MU 20 1986- NU 48/ MU 17 1987- NU 42/ MU 7 1988- NU 26/ MU 18 1989- NU 50/ MU 7 it gets worse 1990- NU 69/ MU 21 1991- NU 63/ MU 6 1992- NU 34/ MU 24 1993- NU 49/ MU 7 1994- NU 42/ MU 7 1995- NU 57/ MU 0 1996- NU 51/ MU 7 1997- NU 45/ MU 38...... 17. The most accomplished football program in the nation at producing CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, Nebraska has captured a nation-leading 98 CoSIDA Academic All-America awards. Before CoSIDA started recognizing the nation's finest student-athletes for their work in the classroom in 1952, three other Husker football players earned academic All-America honors from other sources.
  18. More for you Tim Greatest Fans in College Football Every entrance at Memorial Stadium welcomes Husker fans with the following phrase: "Through these gates pass the Greatest Fans in College Football." Nebraska football fans are perhaps the most loyal in college football. Entering the 2009 season, Nebraska owned an NCAA record streak of 297 consecutive sellouts at Memorial Stadium, which will reach 300 on Sept. 26, 2009 when the Huskers take on Louisiana-Lafayette in Lincoln. Although the Huskers added more than 6,000 seats to the stadium before the start of the 2006 season, Nebraska received approximately 15,000 requests for the new seats, ensuring that the sellout streak would continue in the years to come with capacity crowds reaching more than 80,0000 at Memorial Stadium. Nebraska's football fans have been given the distinguished title - "The Sea of Red" - as waves of red-clad Husker fans follow Nebraska at home and on the road. In fact, the entire state follows the Huskers, along with an ever-growing national fan base, packing Memorial Stadium for every game since 1962. Husker fans bring their show on the road as well. More than 60,000 red-clad Huskers trekked to Pasadena for the 2002 Rose Bowl, and in 2001, more than 30,000 Huskers swarmed South Bend for a matchup with Notre Dame. Spring Game Crowds Perhaps the most impressive measurement of the support Husker fans give to the Nebraska football team comes from its Spring Game attendance. Over the past five seasons, nearly 400,000 fans have flocked to Memorial Stadium to watch NU’s final practice of the spring, including a school-record 80,149 fans in 2008 - one of the largest spring game crowd in college football history. Fan Day Another Husker tradition is Fan Day which attracts nearly 10,000 fans annually to Memorial Stadium during fall camp. Every Husker player and coach signs autographs and takes pictures with fans in a tradition that dates back more than 30 years.
  19. I also forgot stadium. Nebraska doesn't have one end of it's stadium covered in rocks with a big M in the middle of it. What does Missouri's stadium hold? That covers the stadium fact. I'm still searching some other facts Tim. I thought it was common knowledge but I'll do my best to educate you.
  20. Fan base goes to 35,000 red clad Huskers in Notre Dame stadium and support goes to the 300th straight sell out. I think Missouri is up to 3 so far! I can't back that up but Tiger Tim's so called buddy that heard from a friend that knows someone who visited Missouri's practice facility claims that they have 3 straight sell outs. I myself have my doubt but would also like to see some facts. You have a problem with arrogance among us Husker fans, we have a problem with ignorance with some of the Mizzou faithful. This is a Husker board mind you. If you want to contribute fine but remember this is our home field and you may not get all the calls in your favor. I advise you not to trade barbs and not expect to get a ganged up on. Otherwise you need to head back to the Tigerboard where everyone will agree with you. What I stated was clear and truthful facts and not just my opinion. Nebraska has owned you. If you have all the facts what is the won/loss record between NU and MU since something like 1970? Look it up and report back to me. that will be the "owned " part I was refering to. Others have and I am sure will remind you of my facts!
  21. A fact that may disturb some of those MU, CU, and KU fans that have enjoyed their brief moments of winning against the Huskers is the fact that the North is a little sister to the south. Why is this? I'm excluding K State for now as they are probably............ K state again. CU had it's moment in the sun in this early decade but the Huskers still played for the national title that year. Don't forget the Huskers beat the Sooners earlier that year while CU had 2 losses. KU has never been to the title game and MU has had their butts handed to them the last 2 years with their "greatest team in school history" and whether they like it or not tied the Huskers for 1st in the north last year. The fact is the north has been a doormat to the south because of one thing. The demise of Nebraska under Callahan. But still Callahan got NU into one title game and they looked better than MU has the past 2 years or CU against Texas a few years back. History has showed us that the Oklahoma's, Texas's and Nebraska's of football have their low periods from time to time but they seem to rebound from struggling seasons faster than say the aforementioned programs and remain more consistant from year to year. The basic truth is Nebraska is head and shoulders above any football team in the north as far as fan base, support, potential, history, stadium and practice facilities, $$$, educational support and on and on. Nebraska invented the weight room. Call it history or call it the future but while teams like MU, Cu, and KU strive to not regress Nebraska is getting better in leaps and bounds. The Huskers are trying to catch teams like Oklahoma, Texas, USC, and Florida. I doubt they are setting their goals as being as good as Missouri!!! And that is the cold hard truth whether you like it or not. Regardless of the outcome this year or of the past few years. Nebraska still owns you and will again. Enjoy your time in the sun.
  22. While we're at it....... What does a maggot and an Alabama fan have in common? Both can live over 30 years on a dead bear!
  23. Missouri is the only school who's homecoming King and Queen are brother and sister. Whenever you find four mizzou fans huddled you'll find a fifth. You know your from Missouri if...... The Halloween pumpkin on your front porch has more teeth than your spouse You've been married three times and still have the same in-laws. You lit a match in the bathroom and your house exploded right off its wheels. Ya' can't git married to yer sweetheart 'cause there's a dang law against it. You think a woman who is "out of your league" bowls on a different night. You take your dog for a walk and you both use the same tree. Your house has 3 more tires than your 6 cars . Your wife can climb a tree faster than your cat. You consider your license plate personalized because your father made it. You keep a can of Raid on the kitchen table. Two Missourians meet on a dusty country road. One of them is carrying a big bag labeled, "chickens." "Chickens, eh?" says one guy. "Hey, if I guess how many chickens you got, will you give me one?" "Heck," says the guy with the bag, "If you guess right, I'll give you both of 'em." The other scratches his head and guesses, "Um... five?"
  24. Finally. I've been patient waiting for the last post!!
  25. Yes I do. Deep down I have absolutely no reason to think the Huskers will win. That's not much of an answer. You know as well as everyone else on this board that there are reasons why the Huskers will win as well as there are reasons that Mizzou could also win. You gotta do better than that to impress anyone on this board with your brilliance and knowledge. What? You got a ouija board?
