  1. A couple of other schools were looking at him as a tight end due to his size and athletic ability, but he will be a quarterback at Nebraska. His rating at rivals is based solely on his ability at quarterback, because that is the only position he has ever played, so what you see is what you get. He isnt in the top one hundred based on his potential at tight end.
  2. Welcome, Nameless Husker, to the black hole that is formerfan. Reason cannot reach into this empty pitt of despair, facts do not stir the unmoving muck that forms the substance of this space, and the fact that Rodney Picou ran a 4.9 means nothing in.... The formerfan zone. Cue crappy music.
  3. You better believe we will be chanting their names, and I will personally go into the trenches and lead the chorus from the student section. I have to start practicing now... Lets see, week one, well I guess and can start with AL LEN BRAD FORD, clap clap clap clap clap.
  4. And so was no helmets for a while. If you can improve the quality of the game by making sure that calls are made correctly, why not do it?
  5. Its the black ram and is about two minutes from my house. They are really good, but if you want the best steak in chicago, I recommend Bistro 110 downtown off of North Michigan. They are my favorite. If you are ever around in Chicago again and near des plaines, tell me so we can meet up and talk huskers... maybe at the Black Ram
  6. I had alot of respect for Bo, being a Packer fan and seeing his intensity on the field game in and game out during the 03 season, but I lost all of that when he went around bad mouthing Nebraska after he was let go, especially in private conversations with recruits. That is apparantly the reason why Phillip Dillard came to Nebraska. I can understand being upset at not being chosen for head coach after doing well the previous season, but I think that it was pretty clear that Steve wanted Nebraska to head in a new Offensive direction, which Pelini was not capable of doing. If he wants to be sour about it, than that his his perroggative, but dont bad mouth our program in front of recruits.
  7. Welcome to the board nameless. It's great to have another recruiting guy around. Eric the Red is the local head honcho, but the more the merrier I say.
  8. Its great to know that some of the great traditions in Nebraska football, such as character building and academic success, are continuing under the new adminstration. GBR! http://www.theobservationist.com/story.php?id=34
  9. Just curiously former, what plays was JD good at???? I dont think that you base your offense around the capabilities, or lack there of, of your quarterback other than in basic play selection. Obviously if JD was incapable of hitting the deep out, or the post, or whatever, you dont call that play very often, but what do you do when your quarterback cant PASS. If you run every play, than you are hardly implementing a new offense or allowing your team to learn and get better. Part of the reason that we had such a great recruiting year is that Callahan has shown that he has the resolve neccessary to bring Nebraska into the 21st century offensively. I think that it is safe to say that if Callahan ran the ball 85% of the time, and let Dailey hand the ball off, which was his best play, that players like Harrison Beck, Chris Brooks, and Marlon Lucky arent Huskers.
  10. Blasphemy Eric! Chicago style pizza is far superior to New York, and if yours was full of dough than you went to the wrong place. I would stack up Chicago, and New Orleans, and San Francisco for that matter, against New York for food any day of the week.
  11. And Former probably wanted him as head coach... and yes former, I know that his d was ranked third in the nation and that we went ten and three, but if you can throw out a super bowl on Callahans part, than I can throw out one season as a defensive coordinator for Bo.
  12. Yeah, they had the same amount of talent as the 8 and 9 win OPTION teams. I would like to see the 2000 team, with a heisman trophy winner win alot of games running the west coast offense. What did play calling have to do with 19 interceptions. Im pretty sure the play did not call for JD to throw to the other team.
  13. Just some more places to get good pizza. Poretta's which is downtown and Des Plaines, and Martino's, which is in irving park, and I like the atmosphere of Old Chicago, but beer is beer anywhere, and they do claim to serve chicago style pizza, but that being said, I should know better than to go to a place like that expecting the kind of food I get at home.
  14. Being from Chicago, I was naturally intrigued to find that a Chicago style restaurant existed in Lincoln, so I visited, and man was that a mistake. Dont buy into the propaganda gentleman. Chicago is known as one of the best culinary cities in the world, and we have great food. Old Chicago is a joke, and unless the sauce is on top and the pizza is three inches thick, it aint chicago style pizza. If anyone is ever in Chicago, contact me and I will show you some real chicago food.
  15. I will miss Josh, but Im glad we have Daniel to remeber him by, and they bring up an intersting point. Josh played free and center field last year, and Daniel may do it this year. What do you guys think about how Daniel will do this year. Maybe a bit more ball hawkish? The spring game bodes well. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nf...-brothers_x.htm
  16. No way do you change sirius. I cant imagine going to a game and not hearing it. Just that first long bass note that rumbles the whole stadium is enough to make me feel like I can tear down walls, and Im sure the players feel the same way. It's the first note that makes the song, and no other song captures it like that. Its the sound of impending doom.
  17. Awesome event.... I know a couple of girls who did it and are huge husker fans. (they didnt need to learn about football, they just thought it would be fun) They said that the whole thing was awesome and alot of fun, and that the coaches actually had fun too. Maybe they should run one for guys. I dont need to know more about football, but spending a day with Nebraska coaches and being able to talk to them would be pretty cool. Or maybe I could sit in on the girls one, allthough I may be slightly distracted..... http://www.huskers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SP...0&ATCLID=122156
  18. An apt comparison. The only problem with guys that big is, as I said before, lack of versatility and a penchant for getting injured. I think that if he trimmed a little weight, say 50 pounds, he would probably be a better DT, allthough maybe he plays better at nearly 400, I guess I will just have to wait to see tape.
  19. Forget that, I say boo them. I hate Miami
  20. I would like to do a good analysis on this guy, but there is no video on him. He looks fricken huge though, and I doubt you could run the ball past him, though I would question his versatility. He looks like a first down, or third and short kind of lineman. He would keep the guards off of our linebackers though.
  21. Eric is right as far as I know. I havent heard any success stories about coming to school early, but you never know, maybe it could be for the better, at least I hope it is.
  22. One man... Taylor Mays. We need about 22 of him and have him play every position..... just kidding, but We could use about 9 of him, one for every secondary position, both OLB spots, and a few wide receivers. Man this guy is good.
