The only Nebraska quarterback who ever enrolled early was Curt Dukes, and he plays for some division two school or something like that now.

I hate to say it.... ok maybe I dont hate to say it, but I told you guys so. Creighton is not on the same level as Nebraska, and our weekend starters dominated these pretenders. See you in Lincoln, Miami, and I guarantee that you will only be in Omaha long enough to get on a plane and go back to Miami.

I would add cornerback. Bowman may be one and done, and we need quality depth at that position. I also think that we are better off at o line than most think. O line is the one place where conditioning and training are far more important than talent. Big name recruits are neccessary to have a dominant O line, and I think that our coaches are good enough to develop what talent they have. Take a look at how surprising the O line was last year.

Mike Williams ran a 4.6 at the NFL combine and was projected as the best player by Mel Kiper. Menelik is almost the same size and his measurments for weight and height are accurate as they are from a Nike camp, not what his high school said. The forty time can be deceptive though. He could have had an off day, or a very good day and we would not know. I have seen him on tape though, and he was definately faster than anybody else on the field, and playing in California, that says something.

Dont know much about Menelik Holt. Oh, I will tell you about Menelik holt. The man is big, I mean like Randy Moss big. Not quite as fast, runs about a 4.6 consistantly. Has great hands, and is a Javon Walker, Randy Moss kind of receiver. Lots of fly routes and posts and jump balls. Good red zone receiver. Almost reminds me of Mike Williams from USC.

Im not worried about Creighton, they better be scared of us. The only time they faced a weekend starter was againt Dorn before he moved up to the rotation, and he almost threw a no hitter. They dont scare me in the slightest. Im more worried about an unknown team that we havent seen all year. Our bats tend to shut down against good pitching that we havent seen.

He would have to put on a little weight next season if he wanted to contribute right away. A 6'5'' frame like that can easily hold 310 or 320, but that could certainly happen.

Maybe thats why the all lift weights and run, nothing else to do.

You wanna hear a nasty KSU fan story? The very first Husker game I went to was a homecoming game against KSU when I was about 8 or 9 years old. We were walking from downtown towards the Nebraska bookstore, and a really fat women wearing KSU purple was following us. At a light we were waiting at, she tapped me on the shoulder and said go, like the light had turned, so I started walking into the middle of the street..... in front of oncoming traffic. Well my Mom turned around and punched her square in the jaw, which was funny, because my mom is about 5'1''. Maybe this will illuminate the nature of KSU fans to those who havent had the joy of meating them in person.

Leinert wont be there in 06-07. Thank god, now all that we have to put up with is the next five star quarterback.

He has us listed at the top of his early favorites list, and I'm not exactly sure why. This kid is kind of come out of nowhere with this info, but as a five star player, it sounds like music to my ears. I would bump his percentage up to 15%

Just some clarity on that last post, we do not have one of the toughest schedules in college football, or one of the easiest, its somewhere in the middle.

This guy is a sick athlete. I saw film of him and it is kind of rediculus. He is like ten times the size of everyone else out there, but he is quicker than anyone else on the line. We could really use this guy, and I think he could step in and help out right away.

He's playing it close to the vest right now, but I havent heard him mention Nebraska once, and the fact that he plans to camp in the south does not bode well for nebraska. I would say that the chances of getting him are slim at best, say somewhere in the 2-5% range, but with this staff, you never know. I think that our only chance is if we can get him to visit, and he hasnt set a date for us yet, and with that many schools calling, he might be tough to convince. I do have confidence in our game day atmosphere if we can get him here though. Phil better get off of his keister and get this kid to visit. We could use an instant big play receiver like him.

We need to recruit to needs a little more this year, allthough not to extent it will be in a couple of years. Last year we needed everything, so we went out an got everything. This year we can be a little more selective. I look for a smaller class with a higher standard as far as talent. Less of those two and three star guys to fill out the class. I would still like to get Murray though, that way we could pressure Jackson into moving to safety.
