You told us with your 21 posts? I used to post on the ESPN boards, then my roommate told me about this forum. I got sick and tired of the missorui/texas trolls over there.

Over the past few years, how many times have all of our wr's dropped balls? How many times has our offensive line messed up? How about you tell me ONE..give me ONE time when watson has adjusted to a good defense and done well against a good defense? Oh, ok, lets just be happy with Watson beating the mediocre defenses-bad defenses but not the good ones..give me a break. How many times have we passed it one first down (we rarely did), how bad is that we can predict what plays are coming? Why did we run the QB read 30 times against a defense that stuffs it every tme? Why didnt watson run game film and realized that texas' defense had trouble with counters and dives under center and in pistol? Why do our wr's have a hard tme blocking downfield at times..did i mention name one time watson has called a good gameplan against a good defense? Once again, watson is a problem and its showing. But I guess people are satisfied doing well against mediocre and and bad defenses. Look at the beginning of the year? OH you mean when the best defense we have played was 65TH RANKED..thats right 65th ranked. "Guys, be nice..im satisfied with watson doing well against medcore defense..and im satisfied with watson never showing up against good defenses" give me a break.

Dude you're not alone. People have been on watson's case well into last season... I have seen a lot of people defending him this season, maybe im just on at the wrong times. Oh well, he will learn to adjust. He will try to fit a square peg in a round hole no matter what. I dont think he will ever learn

I knew we woudlnt score that much against texas because of the offense we run. Watson is a garbage OC, especially against good defenses. Wow, the best defense we have played before texas was 62nd ranked. Watson insists on running the option read out of shotgun and pistol. That doesnt work against good defenses that are FASTER than your your offense. But guess what, after stuffing it the first few times he instists it will end up working. Did he not watch the tape of ucla and ou tearing apart texas' rush defense? Sure UCLA ran out of pistol but they ran dives, slams and counters..they also ran it under center. Same with OU, they ran it under center in I-form. But what does watson do? He still doesnt play to texas weakness. Texas is fast enough to stop the zone read, obviously, yet he ran it around 30 times. Tell me guys, when was the last time watson did well against a good defense? You can NOT tell me that UCLA has a better oline and rbs than us because i really dont see that. Yes our WRs dropped some passes, but they always seem to drop passes. Maybe if we opened up the playbook a bit and mixed it up (he never passed it on first down) then maybe we would have had more opportunities to score than what we did. He needs to go, he will never adjust to the defense and good, fast defenses will blow it up often.

I actually agree, this team just isnt that good this year in the front seven and our offense is just a little better from last year..except our offense last year would have scored more on sdsu. Hopefully they will prove me wrong on thursday, GBR!!!

Look who we have played, we have not played against ONE good offensive team, idaho and washington are a little below average and sdss/wku are horrible.

The OP does have a pretty valid point. Granted, im going to wati to see how the whole season develops but if this continues then Watson needs to go. Watson is too stubborn to keep running whats doing well and has to revert back to the zone read all the time. We have seen that way too many years, an offesnive coodinator needs to adapt to whats been working and run plays accordingly. Ok, our offense did good last week..against Washington. We did well against arizona in our bowl game, of course they werent playing motivated (much like us today) because they lost a heartbreaker to oregon, in which they would have won the pac 10. But what good teams has watson really scored on? when has his playcalling became unpredictable? He runs the zone read 10 times a game, heck he even ran it a lot last year with zac lee. We have a good set of backs and a fast qb, why dont we run some more i form, strong, ace, etc and just run it downhill without getting too fancy? Hopefully, we see results the rest of the year becaue if not then he definately needs to be gone.

Ok, if its close or we lose then that does say a lot about our team but im talking about if we win the game. Even if we win the game we truely dont know how good we are considering washington is a mediocre team.

Washingtons defense is horrible..and besides jake locker they have nothin on offense. They already lost to byu who lost to air force by 21. Washington might be the second or third worst team in the pac 10..

Im not trying to be a downer but Martinez hasnt really proven anything yet. He looks like he will be a major stud for us but who knows? Remember, Idahos defense gave up a lot of points last year. Also, kentucky had 38 points at half against WKU I believe. Robinson has played against better defenses than Martinez. Right now, Robinson looks a little faster and a better qb at this point and is definately more valuable to his team. Hopefully Martinez will dominate against good defenses so that ill change my tune!

Too show greater support for our defense. But i forgot, most Nebraska fans only look toward the past and not the future so new ideas for one game will never work....We may have the greatest fans in all of college football but we also have the most closed minded ones. But even with a B******, we are supporting a tradition called the "blackshirts." But trying to do something new to a close minded people will never work..

So just because its called the Sea of REd then we cant support the defense? I get it. Im sure if there was sufficient time to make the announcements then people would do it...

The people that will try light me up havent seen Georgias B****** or Penn State's whiteout. Also, whats so wrong with supporting the defense for one game? Doesnt defense win championships? It is called the SEA OF RED for a reason and any attempt to do the B-word will fail period. Yet it must be called SEA OF RED for a reason. I mean look at all the people that wear white shirts and black shirts to the game...So since its the Sea of Red then we cant support the defense for one game? I understand....

I understand you dont disagree with me. The ones that would "disagree" with me also believes that defense wins championships. Not one program emphasizes defense or cares about defense as much as Nebraska fans. Yet, when it comes to supporting the defense for one game, they all criticize it.

I think that would boost the morale of our defense a bit. Plus, we all know it would look cool. Look at Penn States "whiteout" or Georgia's "B******." They look friggen awesome!

Good Lord, you guys act like our run defense is terrible. Lets get a few things straight here..1.) Pelini obviously wasnt going to show off our whole defensive scheme. You know he didnt show us everything our defense had to offer because it was against inferior opponents. IF you noticed, we were only doing a 4 man rush without much blitzing. When we go to VT, you can bet there will be more blitzing going on. Secondly, I feel as if our defense wasnt tryin their hardest. I sense that he used these games to gauge how our secondary can do in coverage for extended periods of time. He used these games to let our secondary work on their game (and we all know they needed improvement.) Virgina Tech killed marshall...who cares? Alabama, who beat VT, was having a tough time with FIU (a sun belt team) for awhile. All in all, i think we will beat VT in a close one.

First off, the student section has been this way for 30+ years, do not act like it just happened. Secondly, the student section is always the loudest part of the stadium. Im sure you guys have called someone an improper name like, "stupid, dumb, etc." Dont be throwing stones at glass houses. Obviously there will be some immature people that will yell profanities during the game, but sadly im sure the 30 year olds...40 year olds..and 50 year olds also did that when they were in the student section when they were in college.
