  1. I get sick and tired of everytime we come up on the short end, all of the sudden it's texas' fault. That gets so old. Hey, I was at the game last night. Some calls went our way some did not. He, WE'RE the ones who let Texas set up shop at the 40. WE'RE the ones that couldnt' convert a first down to milk the clock down to 1 second ourselves. WE'RE the horse collar offender. The last second WAS the correct call. WHO EXACTLY does it help to LEAVE the Big 12? No one, and CERTAINLY not Nebraska. Look, our team is filled with fine young men from primarily TWO states: Nebraska and...you guessed it...TEXAS. You think when we go to join the Rust Belt Conference we're going to be signing up any more southern states talent? You think this program can survive without SERIOUS Texas support, exposure, and RECRUITS? GET REAL. If we moved to that Rust Belt Conference, we would be Wisconsin from now on except with a big N on our helmets. Our talent pipelines would be GONE. Our media exposure would be GONE. GET OVER IT ALREADY. THIS IS STUPID AND I'M SICK OF HEARING IT. Is the Big 12 perfect? NO. But enough of this talk about bolting. We're in the best damn conference in America, NU and strong as dirt, and we're only going to get stronger. GO BIG RED. Let's move on.
  2. no, if we got robbed, we tell the big 12 we are joining another conference, just join another one anyways. What exactly is Nebraska getting out of this except getting shafted? Atleast if we played in another conference we could schedule Oklahoma every year like we use to play them...... You guys have got to be kidding me if you actually believe that Nebraska would leave the Big 12 because of this call... +100000 I get real tired of people saying "We should leave the conference because we get hosed all the time....blah blah. does any of these cry babies ever stop to think about the implications of such? Look, the Big 12 is where we belong. We go join the Big 11, you can say GOOD BYE to all those skill players we have from the southern states. We'll just be Wisconsin with an "N" on the side of our helmets. GET OVER IT AND QUIT YOUR CRYING. We lost. It was our own fault at the last.
  3. Everyone keeps b!ching about playing at Jerry's World, blah blah blah, but did anyone ever consider how good this is for our Texas recruiting pipelines? Our boys are at the Westin being treated like celebs, and you can bet high school coaches and players all over this state are taking some serious notice. I am really looking forward to seeing our Texas recruiting base solidified. If we can make it to Jerry's World two or three straight years, you're gonna seem a huge influx of quality Texas players into Lincoln. I look at Jerry's World as Memorial Stadium South.
  4. I will pay up to $375 for a pair. My cellular number is (806) 672-7102
  5. Pelini's not going anywhere. And I mean anywhere. Nebraska is about the only place in major college ball where the coach isn't required to give speeches, endorsements, and all that other P.R. b.s. And it's a darn good thing, because Pelini is flat-out blunt and rough around the edges. I personally have no problem with it at all - in fact I like it a lot - but the vast majority of top 25 - caliber schools couldn't deal with that. A school like Notre Dame needs not only a good football coach, but a guy who can give a tear-jerker speech to boosters, and play up for the media with things like visiting sick little boys in the hospital and asking them what the first play of the game should be. I'm not saying Pelini doesn't have a soft heart - he well may - but he's not into all that superficial emotional b.s. That gig won't play on most college campuses. It will at Nebraska - NU cares about one thing, and one thing only: Football. Pelini is here for a long, long time.
  6. This replacement is going to have to be BIG.
  7. Wrecks Burkhead's going to have his Texas come'n out party! YEEE HAWW!!!!!!
  8. everyone in this state either HATES the Longhorns or LOVES them. The ONLY thing I like about Texas is that Mack Brown is one heckuva nice guy. Class guy. And they have a few class players. Unlike Texas Tech.
  9. I would love it if this game was at JERRY'S PLACE every stinking year since we are going to be THERE EVERY STINKING YEAR. Our roster's going to be stocked with stud Texas high school athletes. We couldn't be in a better place right NOW!
  10. QUIT FREAKING KNOCKING THE STATE OF TEXAS. THIS HUSKERS PROGRAM WOULDN'T EVEN BE ON THE MAP IF IT WASN'T FOR THE HELP OF TEXAS HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETES. Hey I live in Texas and love the Huskers. There's more Huskers fans in this state than any other state besides Nebraska, so don't knock Texas. This is The Huskers' back yard and always will be. The Eyes of Texas are ALL ON NEBRASKA this weekend. Fans, Recruits, high school coaches. LET'S KICK SOME SERIOUS ASS AND GIVE THEM WHAT THEY WANT. This game - and many more at Jerry's place in the future, are going to pay off in spades for the Huskers in terms of high quality TEXAS recruits. Guys like... Adi Kunalic Wrecks Burkhead Trey Robinson Cody Green Terrence Nunn Kody Spano Chris Williams (LB - look out next year!!!) Chris Brown Just to name a few. DON'T EVER, EVER FORGET THE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT THE GREAT STATE OF TEXAS IS MAKING TO THIS HUSKERS PROGRAM.
  11. You get yourself even 3 or 4 of these types on each side of the ball and you're in the NC hunt. Screw the stars - let's go for guys that will run through brick walls. I don't see that in our receiving corps. lthough I think our TEs are tough as nails. We need to find a few more guys with some SERIOUS killer instinct. Knock a lung loose kind of guys. Guys, we are almost there...it's so close it's scary. Real damn scary.
  12. Well, maybe it was a mistake, but the mistake was proclaiming him "the annointed one" after just 7 games in his first season and creaming all over themselves to get the dude a 10 year multi-gazillion $$ contract so that no one else would poach him. I mean it was like this guy was the greatest coach to ever live, and ND just had to pin him down with some contract that no man had ever seen the likes of, or likely will again. Ass hats. When emotions take over smart business, bad things are sure to happen: SOUTH BEND, Indiana -- It took Notre Dame football coach Charlie Weis only seven games to earn a new contract. Notre Dame has signed Weis to a new 10-year deal, the school announced Saturday. The deal will make him the highest paid coach in college football, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen. Sources pegged the extension between $30 and $40 million. One source said it was closer to the high end of that range. Weis originally had signed a six-year contract through the 2010 season when he was hired last December. This new deal takes effect next season and runs through 2015. "Since the first day I arrived at Notre Dame as head football coach, one of my primary goals was to be able to see this job through to the time my son, Charlie, would graduate from the University of Notre Dame and to stay in this position until I retire," Weis said. "By restructuring this contract, adding an additional five years, this allows me to accomplish that goal." Weis has led the Fighting Irish, who began the season unranked, to a 5-2 mark and the No. 9 ranking. Notre Dame also nearly upset top-ranked Southern California three weeks ago before coming up just short, 34-31. "In a very short period of time, Charlie has clearly and impressively demonstrated the ability to take the Notre Dame program where we all want it to go," Notre Dame athletic director Kevin White said. "We're excited that Charlie wanted to extend his commitment to Notre Dame, combined with the University's interest in furthering its relationship with him. All of us are enthusiastic about what the future holds for Notre Dame football with Charlie Weis as our head coach. We're confident that we've got the best coach in America ensconced at his alma mater for the remainder of his career."
  13. I know Helu's great, but Wrecks needs to be able to come in and get in a rhythm. Not fair to bring the guy in for 2 plays every now and then.
  14. Signature win? Probably against Meeechicken in the Alamo Bowl. Signature loss? 70-10 at Texas Tech.
  15. Let's see now, how many were we favored against... Iowa State?
  16. I'm worried about ranking and screw everybody if they think I shouldn't be. I'm a FAN. I don't HAVE to be focused by KSU - I'll leave that to the actual players. I can worry myself sick about KSU all week and all I'll get is the runs. But yeah, I want NU to be in the top 25 and YES, I'm focused on it.
  17. You mean THAT'S what that idiot was doing all those times?
  18. so you're gonna start trying to ask a guy a question that has the runs and is putting everything he has at that moment into getting some stuff done?
  19. so you think it's BS? If I proved it wasn't BS, would I get a trip back to the main forum and a public apology?
  20. Absolutely nuts the OU fans are. Makes me think of Dr. Tom's interview when Pedey canned Solich: "When you're successful, it's easy to lose perspective (hint hint)."
