Sadly....in college football even some of those can be meaningless or should I say...they miss the mark. It is what it is though. We live with it.

It is? Where do you see that? I see them explain that Alabama jumps Florida because of Tebow's concussion. Do you believe there is really a computer program variable for that? wrt SOS, of the teams we've beaten, they only have one win over an FBS school, and that would be ULaLa over K State. Really? You didnt just do that did you? Go back and delete your post right now because being the spelling police is lamer then being a poster on the bigredboard or supporting BC. I posted for 7 years on Rivals as a premium member and 5 years on BRR as a premium member. I'd recommend BRR over Rivals any day of the week. Rivals had their head so far up Bill Callahan's arse when he was there it was ridiculous. There was nothing more humorous than listening to Sean Callahan try and do a 180 on BC like 6months later than everyone else. The entire Rivals board had drank so much BC Kool-Aid that by the time BC was fired I'm not sure they had any posters left who weren't BC lovers..... Heck they even managed to drive off h3 although I believe he's back now....but not after being gone for a couple years.

Congrats on your win over Miami!!! Huge win!! Good luck on the rest of your season. Maybe by the end of the year we'll be healed up from the pain of losing the VT game...

Honestly.....when you consider how far we are into the season I don't see a real problem with those rankings. clearly there is a great argument for holding off on having any rankings until the 6th or 7th week of the season. This is a computer generated ranking. What you can easily see is that there is a lot of weight given to undefeated teams....as there should be....as well as SOS. This poll will continue to straighten itself out as more and more games are played. People look at this poll and go nuts because we have all of our biases. Clearly some of these teams won't be here at the end of the season....but really.....if you are talking about how the rankings should look right now.....I can see a pretty good argument for quite a few of these rankings that go against what the AP and Coaches poll show.

Actually.....one is about a 26 hour drive and one is about a 20 hours drive. Maybe it's just an excuse. I really don't know. What I do know is it is Miami from what I've been told. We shall see I guess.

You have to love it when people like this who boldly make claims and have absolutely nothing to back them up. You were probably one of the guys saying VT had no chance in this game as well....even though I'm sure you won't admit it now. We may not have as much talent as a lot of teams yet....but we are getting to the point where on any given day we could play with anyone....and so yes....I'd have no problem playing Miami....they don't scare me....despite your bravado. What we do know is.....Nebraska went Blacksburg and outplayed VT in every aspect of the game. If not for a couple crucial calls Nebraska scores 17 more pts and it's a blow out. Even VT fans were smart enough to admit they were completely outplayed. Of course it doesn't necessarily mean we are better than Miami....but it also doesn't mean with VT dominating Miami today that we should put any credit into what you're saying....Miami is better than NU. C'mon. Get real. You have to give us something more than just your biased opinion.

Well....I think a lot of people believe VT is overrated.....a lot of people will now believe Miami is overrated. It could just be that VT is a good football team and maybe we are a better football team than we realize....it could be. To early to tell. I hope this is the case. The Big 12 schedule will bear this out. I'm hopeful that we really have turned the corner and what we will see is superior play from NU. We can hope!

VT now leads Miami 21 to 0. They are completely dominating Miami.

When you hear the comments from the VT players indicate that NU's line on both sides was far more physical than Alabama's it gives you reason for hope. It will be interesting to see how the Big 12 shakes out. We just might surprise a few people yet. 2nd qtr coming to an end.....VT 212 total yrds....Miami...22yrds.

I don't know you guys....I'm trying to get a read on my new Husker friends. On one hand, you guys say Mizzou will be a pushover and you'll rack up 60 points, no matter who you wheel out there as QB. On the other hand you say Zac needs to heal and get ready for the Big XII opener (Tigers). Well according to posts on the Missouri boards Nevada is a better team than NU.....so Missouri shouldn't have anything to worry about. Just a walk in the park for you boys.

Based on how VT is whipping up on Miami right now....NU may just be a top ten team this year. Our defense played a hell of game last week and came up one play short, otherwise we'd be sitting just outside the top 10 right now and VT would be whipping up on Miami making our win look even that more impressive. We may be a pretty decent football team yet. Time will tell. A lot of football left.

This indicates just how good our defense played last week. Makes this loss hurt all the more. Miami had a whopping 17yrds in the first qtr against VT. What will really suck is if VT goes on to win this game.....Miami will still end up ranked ahead of us....of course...not that rankings matter. VT is a good football team....and we may just be better than we realize. Time will tell. Man it sucked losing that game.....

Man....what buttons to pick on here to reply to someone's post. If he does remain here he would be close to some family. He currently lives with his brother and sister-in-law as most of you know. The rest of his family resides back east in New York. What I know comes from yaaaa....never mind. I wish I could share more.....but I like having my nuts right where they're at. I say there's a very good chance he will take a trip back east before the recruiting process is over. Whether or not that's enough to change his mind about NU.....I have no idea. No, it's not Notre Dame.

I'm happy for Witt. I'm glad he's getting a great education. What he might still learn though is that after you get an education life is about stiff competition....something it appears he sadly avoided at NU. Witt took the easy route as far as I'm concerned and you can only do that so many times and it becomes a habit.

It would help if we could beat a ranked team first.
