  1. Doing a pretty good job at building Buffalo. He may only be 2-4, but it's obvious that he's made them better already. At least they're more competitive...
  2. Sam is a stud. He's one of the only guys who has showed up to play every day in practice and every Saturday in games. He has proven his worth, IMO. He didn't play well Saturday, but he played better than most of the rest of the team!
  3. That's the problem with a Coz-like defense...read and react. That is why I would prefer a d-coordinator who believes in attacking and dictating, not reacting...slowly.
  4. Saw this on another board, the guy says he's from Tulsa, OK, and heard it on a radio show... Dave Sittler, from Hebron, NE and the OWH is THE sports editor for the local paper - he was on this morning's radio sports program discussing the mess in Nebraska. Supposedly, his sources have informed him that many of the "BIG MONEY" people have already informed the 'powers that be' at the University that changes HAVE TO BE MADE or the money drys up-!! He also said that those same sources are wanting either Tom Osborne or Dave Remington as AD. Sittler thinks (as many of us do) that Turner Gill would be the most logical replacement for Callahan. He and the sports jock both agreed that something has to be done ASAP or Nebraska may never again be able attract the kind of players it was used to during the Devaney / Osborne years-!! Interesting, no?
  5. Keller comes to play every Saturday. So does Lucky. So does Octavien. So does Grix (where the heck has HE been the last 3 years?). So does Bowman (albeit he's obviously rusty...too many penalties). Why do other guys refuse to follow their lead?
  6. Amen, bro. I'm in a similar situation here... I put up the Nebraska "N" on my computer background today...and my students asked me why. I told them, "We'll all stick together in all kinds of weather, for dear ol' Nebraska U!" Well, not exactly, but something like that...
  7. Patience! Even though it only takes a year or two at other places to win, it will take Cally more time to get his players in! 4 years ain't enough here, you impatient people! The talent level is up, but that doesn't matter! Patience, I plead! Patience! /sarcasm off
  8. Great rationalization. Great definition of mediocrity. Nobody is asking for a NC every year. Everybody is asking for no more 49-31's or 41-6's or bad defenses every year. Where is everyone who said Billy C. is improving? Or where are the people who said USC was an exception, not the rule? At least most of us are coming out of the Kool-aid induced fog now...
  9. OU is probably going to run the table and win the Big 12. Some others are going to have to lose if they want to play for the BCS Championship, though. Too bad they lost at CU...I hate those guys! Thanks for the kind words, good luck to the Sooners! I have some relatives down there, even one who played for Switzer!
  10. I hate to say this, but I don't believe anyone is going anywhere. Cally just signed a deal, SP is too egotistical to admit he made a mistake, and Coz is Cally's bestest friend. We're stuck with this, I suppose I'd better get used to it...dammit.
  11. I know what you're saying, and I'm glad that you're trying to stay positive. However, after last night, I'm just hoping NU is bowl-eligible at the end of the season. Where's the patience crowd today? 75% (or more) of NU's players are Callahan's...and NU loses 41-6? NU will NOT surrender the Big 12 to...well, I guess they will.
  12. My bro and i were talking about this during the game. We could think of ASU. Can't remember if Solich went td'less during ksu or mu during his "torrent run". Wait, i think we lost to OU in 04 30-3 w/ a last sec. fg. correct me if i am wrong. Nope, that was Cally's first year.
  13. Gonna be a long night boys...a long night. I'm sure glad I'm patient! Schools like Illinois must just have more talent than NU...but we need to wait more than 4 years for NU to build that up, I suppose.
  14. Beating us still means somethng. At least to all our opponents. Beating us puts other programs on the map. That's why it wouldn't have been the end of the world to lose to Balls Tate. Which is bigger for which program? NU losing to BSU or BSU beating NU? Beating NU would have been a win to build a program on.
  15. Doug DuBose blew out his knee. That's why he wasn't able to play his senior year. Look it up. It wasn't drugs. Keith Jones as a junior was the #1 I back that year. Wasn't very good as a junior, but learned a lot, and was pretty darn good his senior year (the next year). P.S. Marlon is good. He's getting nothin' but better. I predict he'll be a first day selection to the NFL after his senior year. Cally isn't calling running plays to the strength of the OLine. However, it may be because he doesn't believe Lucky to be a good enough runner between the tackles. I believe he can develop that, though.
  16. Missouri actually played Illinois in week one on a neutral field in St Louis, then traveled to Ole Miss and played a rebels team that gave Florida fits. What does it all mean? Nothing, it will be an exciting game Saturday in Columbia, I agree with the folks who say it will be high scoring, turnovers without a doubt will decide the winner. Finally! A Tiger fan we can actually have a real conversation with. Here's hoping for a good game.
  17. Hunter, you couldn't be more right... I still believe in Cally. But part of my perspective about Coz comes from this weekend. The players finally played with heart, tackled well, etc....and still looked suspect. Is it talent or scheme? I believe it is both. Seriously, does NU need 6 QB's on scholarship and 6 RB's on scholarship? That's why NU is struggling on Defense...not enough depth on the D side of the ball, because we have too many players on scholarship who will never play on offense. Oh, yeah...and Coz sucks.
  18. After 2 Top-10 classes in 4 years, why does NU not have the talent? Oh, and btw...some former players disagree that NU doesn't have the talent... --------------------------- "I will tell you if I was at Nebraska today, I'd be second or third string," Ramaekers said. "That's how talented we are. (Bill) Callahan and Cosgrove have done a great job getting some huge, talented guys. I don't even know if I'd make it. --------------------------- http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_page=1200...;u_sid=10143810
  19. Didn't KState win just 4 games the year before Prince took over as HC? I don't care what anyone says about Solich's recruiting and talent. There is no way you can say the talent was worse at NU when BC took over than it was at CU when Hawkins took over. No way because anyone with any talent at all left, so don't even try to debate this fact. Good coaching does outshine talent. We've seen many many cases of this the past 5 years. BC has a free pass from me until after year 6. If he hasn't won the Big 12 by that time, can him! edited...I believe we agree here...
  20. Saw this on another board...FWIW, I believe he's talking about CU and KSU... Why are we expected to be patient???? There are a whole slew of 2nd year coaches out there getting it done, and Calllllllllllllllly and crew haven't even given us a hint of being back on top. Why is the collection of azzclowns continually given this free pass??
