  1. The mother claims the incident started when the Huskers scored a touchdown. I think the first Husker TD happened around 10:45PM. In my experience, I'm just not used to seeing a women with her children in a bar that late. Is this typical in Nebraska, because it seems like no one is batting an eye to this fact? I'm not being facetious, but really just don't understand how you can't at a minimum question the judgement of a mother who has her kids out that late in a drinking establishment on a school night.
  2. I tailgated as near to the stadium as you can get and I saw nothing but good will b/t fans. I think the terrible weather made a bond b/t most of the people at the game. Everyone was suffering through the elements to support their team. However, there were two drunk idiot MU fans sitting close to me in the stadium. These guys were probably in their late 30s but acted like retarded teenagers. With 14 mins left in the 4th quarter they started screaming "Warm up your buses Huskers!" Everyone in the vicinity gave them the stink eye and said (or thought) the same thing. 'Shut up you f*cking jinx!' I blame the loss completely on them.
  3. hmmmmmm. If MU started their drive on the 9 yard line and ran off 8 seconds during the kick off return, then systematically went down the field gaining 2.501 yards per carry and always went for it on fourth down, burning 23 seconds between downs and 4 seconds on each play......that would be 17 minutes and 45 seconds. You would need a few false starts sprinkled in on top of this already ludacris recipe for it to bake. So, the 19 minute theory (like the Faurot field turf) doesn't hold water.
  4. Actually I have, but I had to look it up to be reminded. Living in Kansas City I usally take I-70 if I'm going East/West (or a plane). I'm going to take you up on your challenge, but I'm not going to post it here as it seems I've worn out my welcome.
  5. I object to that label. I've read a lot of slams against MU, Columbia and Missouri this past week and this is first time I've responded. I've attempted to respond with as many facts and as little snark as possible, but I suppose I could have been a little more grounded. WCHusker claimed one of the reasons he wasn't coming to the game because it is being played in a 'meth infested sh!thole'. His claim was then backed up by others. I've attempted to debunk this this statement (the meth infested part.....the sh!thole part I'm still working on because I can't find any reliable data on the amount of outhouses used in MO compared to NE). In what way is this being a Troll?
  6. This is too much fun. From the DEA: http://www.usdoj.gov/dea/pubs/state_factsheets/nebraska.html http://www.usdoj.gov/dea/pubs/state_factsheets/missouri.html In 2008 there was 8,000,000 mg of Meth seized by the feds in Nebraska. That's 4.55mg/resident. Missouri had 14,100,000mg seized that same year. That's 2.43mg/resident. It would seem that meth heads definitely get more bang for their buck in Nebraska. In 2008 950KGs of Marijuana was seized in Nebraska!!!??? Holy cow, I guess that answer the question of what you all are smoking!
  7. Missouri people cannot get offended by this. St.Louis missouri has the highest percentage of Meth Labs and Meth Users in the Country. Which means Missouri has one of the highest rates of Meth users in America. According to WCs sources, Boone County had 21 labs seized in 2004. I did a little researched and found a site that actually showed seizures for counties in all states. http://democrats.science.house.gov/Media/F...izures_2004.pdf For those who don't care to look it up Lancaster had 37 seizures that same year. So within the immediate vicinity of the two universities there are 76% more meth labs at NU. This is a real shame, because I was honestly considering going to a Nebraska football game next year. I just don't want to go to that meth infested sh!thole now.
  8. I know I'm going to be one sad panda if I have to stand in torrential rain for 4 hours and then the Tigers lose......but that's not going to happen (the losing part).
  9. Accuweather now has Thursday upgraded to 'Torrential rain'. I'm not used to seeing that forecast outside of a hurricane zone. The good news is that both teams have 9 days to get over their colds before their next opponents.
  10. Newcastle is a fine beverage, but ranks second to Stella Artois. I still enjoy a newkie brown, but the blonde beauty of a Stella is something every man should try! If you'd like to expand your horizons a bit you could try some local beers. There is a brand new bar on Broadway called the 'Broadway Brewery' (original, huh?). They have great micro brews. I especially like their Rye beer. Schlafly (from STL) and Boulevard (from KC) beers are also both good and you'll find them on tap at almost any bar in Columbia. If you'd like to try some great food in Columbia go to Murry's. It's south of the stadium and away from the crazies. http://www.murrysrestaurant.net/ My second favorite place to eat is Flat Branch. Also have good beers and great food in a casual atmosphere. They usually close at Midnight on a Thursday, but might stay open until 1AM considering the rush they'll get after the game. http://www.flatbranch.com/home.asp
  11. I don't think I've seen any mainstream love for Gabbert (no feature articles in ESPN or anything like that), however, the midwest media outlets are seeing him for the gamer that he is. He's gone into the second half of three ball games either down or with less than a two score lead. How he's reacted to that pressure as a first year starter......is well.......let's just take a look at the numbers: from cfbstats.com Situation.......G...Att..Comp...Pct.....Yards....Int...TD..Rating....Long...1st...15+...25+ 2nd Half/OT...4....43.....33....76.7.....547.......0.....6...229.64......74.....19....13.....9 I stand corrected. : http://espn.go.com/blog/ncfnation/post/_/i...ouris-4-0-start
  12. Did anyone else notice ESPN pimp this game on MNF last night? It was very short and I only saw it once. They had a picture of Blaine Gabbert on the screen and said 'Tune in Thursday night as the the Missouri Tigers take on the Nebraska........etc.' I bring it up because I was happy to see MU get top billing.
  13. I shouldn't be doing this to my own team.....but it's too much fun. Tim Barnes

  15. If it creeps up to -3.5 I'll put money on my Tigers......but not too much. It's hard to handicap a game you are so emotionally involved in. Both teams have done well ATS to date. Missouri is 3-1 and Nebraska 4-0.
  16. I'll be there. I just found out my brother got us tickets. I was already so excited for this game, now my head it ready to explode. I live in KC, but I'm happy to make the drive to support my Tigers. I've been creeping on this site for a few weeks now, and it seems I've heard more than a couple of Husker fans mention they'll be making a trek to see the game. The more the merrier in my opinion. I can't wait to see the new big screen they put in! Maybe next year I'll drive up to Lincoln. From what I've heard it's a pretty decent place to see a game.
  17. Next time you do your laundry put your red jerseys in with your white ones and you'll be all set. Those corn cob hats are going to be harder.
  18. USA Today shows the line opening as NU -2. I really thought the game would open as a pick 'em and then money would come in on NU moving the line in their favor. It looks like I gotta face the fact that my Tigers are actually an underdog in this game.
  19. USA Today has a great site for viewing all lines from the major sportbooks. also they have a nice preview/stats of the game. Just scroll down to the college football odds. http://sportsdirect.usatoday.com/odds/usatoday/odds.aspx
  20. I'm curious why you think your kicker is the best in the nation? My research shows he isn't even the best in the Big12 North. Since it pertains to the upcoming game, let's compare Henrey to MU's Ressel. RESSEL: FG 10/10 XP 15/15 HENREY: FG 8/9 XP 19/19 It would seem that Ressel would get the advantage if comparing numbers only. However, you may be using different criteria such as style points.....etc. Ressel hasn't attempted a field goal over 50 yards. The lone miss on Henery's resume is +50 yards. But don't trust us. Listen to the Groza Award people, if you want to know who's more highly regarded. I'll agree that Ressel and Henrey are pretty close in comparison when you consider that Ressel hasn't had a kick of 50+ yet. However, I have a tough time conceding that Alex Henrey is the best kicker in the nation because he made the Groza Preseason watchlist with 29 other players.
