  1. epoc - Absolutely awesome. Husker prayer + that music gave me goosebumps, and I was at home listening to the radio on my computer. Can't imagine what it would've been like seeing it live @ the game and then going right into "Sirius." Your vids/pics are great, by the way. HDR images & Memorial Stadium/cityscapes are good combinations. Quick question - what was the music you used in that video?
  2. What were the final stats for Suh/Crick/McCoy?
  3. Understatement of the year! Drunk Amigos is so good that I now love Sober Amigos. I wonder if Woody is still patrolling that place at night...
  4. Beverages: - I will second going to Sandy's and getting Elk Creek. It tastes exactly like orange juice and it will mess you up in no time flat. - Bison's used to have good drink specials on Friday or Saturday nights ($5 cover, $1 or $2 drinks the rest of the night) but it's been a while maybe not any more. Food: - I don't care for Runzas, but the burgers at Runza are GREAT! - Bisons has some great panini-style sandwiches. - Valentino's pizza is good...but out of the way. Grab some on the way out of town...stay downtown if you are within 24 hours of the game either way. Have fun! As long as you aren't running around and rubbing it in our faces, you'll have a great time with the fans. Damn I miss Lincoln.
  5. A Nebraska-born kid from my dorm a few years ago is a Yankees fan, a Lakers fan, and a Patriots fan. ... Gee how/when did you decide on those teams?
  6. You make a good point, esp the one about special teams. With how mediocre our punt return game has been, why aren't we going balls-to-the-wall trying to block punts? I'd like to see this team quit trying to set up a 3 yard return and go after the punter instead...just don't get stupid roughing penalties. We REALLY should have done this during the Mizzou game, where we dropped every other punt. AND, if we were a little more aggressive on punts, that ISU punter maybe wouldn't have had a 20 yard gain on us. /Just a few thoughts from an armchair coach.
  7. Great news! Glad he's N! He and Gabbert sound like they are forming quite a bond. I can't wait to see them on the field together.

    Bo's Postgame

Ha. Yeah....heh isn't going to win any awards for diplomacy, but seriously, "How disappointing was this loss?" Are you kidding me? What a stupid question.
  9. I'm in Minnesota - so I usually get Big 10 games. Here are some alternatives that I fall back on. If the game is not on TV around these parts, I check ESPN 360....however, ESPN360 only allows you to access the games if you are with a select few cable providers. They don't allow ours, but every college campus gets access to 360...so if we don't have it on TV my wife and I are going to run over to the university down the street and watch it there. Also, in PPV situations, my buddies back in Lincoln put a web cam in front of their 56" TV and we watch the game via Windows Live Messenger. The quality depends on the webcam, but it gets us by. Worst case scenario we run to the Twin Cities and watch it at Sensors. Another idea is finding some stream somewhere online...questionable legality, but it's worth it for the Huskers. We haven't had to do this yet. There hasn't been a game this year that we've missed. Hopefully these alternate ideas can help some of you out! GBR
  10. Yeah I don't know if I buy #5....the defense is just top notch but the offense hasn't been consistent enough in big games/road games for me to agree with that ranking. Plus, the Huskers really need to work on staying focused and playing good, disciplined football. Too many penalties for my liking...although a lot of them have been questionable. A few more solid wins down the road and I will be drinking the kool-aid as well.
  11. 1) How long have you been a member of Husker Nation? Since 2002ish. I didn't grow up a fan college football b/c my home state only had D2 schools. Once I started considering UNL for a college choice, I became an INSTANT addict. 2) What/who led you to The Nation? My parents suggested I look at UNL for college. Once I looked into it, it was a no-brainer. My first game day (2002 vs. McNeese State) pretty much sealed the deal 3) Where are you from originally? Sioux Falls, SD 4) Where do you live now? Mankato, MN 5) Favorite Husker memory? Fairly recent: The House of Spears picking off Cody Hawkins, rumbling towards the end zone, stiff arming Hawkins to the ground, and chucking the football against the wall after he scored. The whole fourth quarter of that Colorado game was year was memorable 6) Worst Husker memory? Tie between 2005 Texas Tech and 2006 Texas games. I was at both of them. In both, there was one play in each game that took us from guaranteed victory to guaranteed defeat in the span of 5 seconds. That change in emotion in Memorial Stadium was crushing. Also, the USC game in Lincoln. We were up 14 hours before the game started, in the stadium for ESPN Gameday...I genuinely felt we had a chance to beat them if we played well 7) Number of home games attended? I had tickets as a student, from 2003 to 2007...so close to 30 8) Number of away games attended? Only 2 - both at Iowa State. I had a friend who went there. We lost one of those games 9) Favorite Husker memorabilia/apparel? A beautiful bright red Nebraska sweatshirt that you can see for miles here in Big 10 country. I wear it out here as a beacon to other Husker fans. Oh and a black Blackshirts hat that has holes ripped in it 10) Favorite place to watch a Husker game? (section in Memorial, bar, friends house etc.) Student section at Memorial stadium, obviously. But for fun, since I'm in Minnesota right now, I'll also say Joe Sensor's Bar & Grill in Bloomington, b/c hundreds of Husker fans take the place over on game days and it feels like I'm in downtown Lincoln 11) Favorite all time player? Nate Swift 12) WCO or Option? My favorite type of offense spreads the field out with some receivers, but isn't necessarily pass-first. I love zone read options and plays with fakes to in-motion-WRs. Lots of play actions, too. Keep them guessing the entire game and frustrate the defense because they can never guess correctly. Go deception! 13) Stevie Pederson or Billy Byrne? Can't argue with the success that accompanied Byrne. No matter what SP did, I was around for his great downfall and I can't help but have bad feelings for him 14) Lil Red or Herbie Husker? Herbie, although I always crack up when Red bounces on his head 15) Favorite Husker play? Even though it was "before my time" as a Husker Fan, I'd have to say the Tommie Frazier run. It looked like something out of a video game when you jack all your players up and put it on "Freshman" mode 16) Favorite game-day beverage? Never hurts to have a few brewskies in ya to help keep me from biting my fingernails off each week 17) How did you find HuskerBoard? (referral source) Oh God should I even admit it? Someone on the TigerBoard linked here to talk some smack, and I stayed a while and liked what I saw. Only thing the TigerBoard has ever done well
  12. Yes, a good point. He didn't demand it.
  13. Tiger Tim, I've heard this too. I researched it and couldn't find the original source (it's from an Omaha World Herald article). I've seen it referenced in message boards, though. From the article (I googled the quote and clicked on "cached" to get this link to open up): I hope he stays N.
  14. Okay I just noticed this thread is three years old, but I'm going to reply anyway because I just signed up! In case anyone is wondering, I guess: JOE SENSORS in Bloomington. No question about it. It's listed in the Watchsites list above, but the listing barely does it justice. On Husker game day, the place is FULL of Husker fans. Every other TV in the place is tuned to the Husker game. They play the audio for the Husker game. If 200 people can fit in the place, 190 of them are Husker fans. 10 of them are left wondering what state they are in. I've been there twice - both times I arrived an hour or so before the game and barely got a seat. One game (Iowa St last year) there was a group of band alumni who played songs during the commercials and halftime. It is like teleporting to Lincoln on gameday and is very fun. High-fiving strangers after touchdowns, chanting "HUSKER POWER" before the game starts, etc. The food is decent, as well, but you don't necessarily go there for the food. There are four Joe Sensor's bars in the Metro - I've only been to the one in Bloomington. Oh, and the two times I've gone there, I've driven an hour and a half to get there and it was still worth it. Any questions about the joint PM me or reply to the thread!
