  1. sanders verbally offered him and is going to talk to Bo to give him an official offer
  2. could this mean Heard didn't make grades/ACT score? Ruffin's videos show him at RB in alot of the plays
  3. Interesting perspective. Kind of an interesting way to get the other kid to force his hand. If he wanted the best to go there, he'd be pushing Owa. Maybe he is doing just that. Yeah he may be pushing Owa towards OSU also.. but maybe Owa told him his final two was UCLA and Nebraska and his coach accepted that fact. so he went ahead and said... "would you please publicly announce that OSU is still in consideration to pressure Glover to commit". Not saying its true.. but honestly makes more sense to me than Owa just suddenly putting OSU back in the top 3 out of nowhere. If his coach was such an influence to Owa to go to OSU, i would think he would have got that in his mind earlier in the process rather than 10 days prior to signing day
  4. here's something to think about... We all know that Owa has been talking to his high school coach lately. we know that his coach is an OSU alum. maybe... just maybe... his coach asked him to put Oregon State back in the conversation to pressure JUCO DE Dominic Glover to pledge OSU before that DE spot is taken up. sure enough, Glover commits to Oregon State today. maybe the final two really are UCLA and Nebraska, and if that's true... he's N.
  5. these just happen to be my two favorite players so it was a fun video to watch
  6. its amazing. i was celebrating owa's "commitment" thursday night. now i can't imagine him not picking OSU. biggest mistake of the young mans life if he does. where is Simi Kuli at right now??
  7. the longer he takes the worse for us. i said if this isn't decided by Monday, our chances dip immensely. after thursday i thought 99% N. now that this report on HI came out.. i'm down to 50%
  8. Is the "Sean Fisher" hype anything like saying "i feel like Ankrah starts over Meredith"? no because not many people agree with the "Ankrah starts over Meredith" hype
  9. What exactly do you mean by the "Sean Fisher" hype? For all intensive purposes, PJ Smith has already proven his worth as a strong safety. Both Fisher & Smith were redshirt frosh in '09, and Smith was far more impressive. Sure, he didn't have the same hype as Fisher coming into the season, but it's pretty clear Smith competed & made an impression that should bolster him to 1st team. I think Smith will be good but i'm worried that he's getting all the "2010 breakout player" hype. and in case you just became a Husker fan this season... Sean Fisher was extremely hyped up before this season. up until the season started he was the only "lock" as a starting linebacker. i'm not saying he won't be good in the future, but he didn't live up this season.
  10. Why would Ankrah start over Meredith? Meredith played very, very well in limited action --- arguably at level near or equal to Turner --- and, statistically speaking in terms of tackles per snap, he performed better than did Turner. Ankrah has not played a D1 snap. On what basis would one predict Ankrah wins out over Meredith? Wow man calm down i was just sharing my opinion. My sources tell me that Ankrah is better and was practicing with the Blackshirts after blossoming at the midway point of the season. the only reason he wasn't playing at the end of the year is because it would have been a terrible decision to burn the redshirt that late. I agree Meredith is a good DE. I think Ankrah will prove that he is a great DE.
  11. I don't think Bo would ever leave for LSU, however I could see Miles being fired within the next three years. He is not a fan favorite down there. Nor was Bo. Fans were glad when he left.
  12. im gonna have to say Ankrah for Turner. i feel like Ankrah starts over Meredith. i think Dillard is a much bigger loss than people think, and maybe E-Mart can fill the void in the future, but i don't see it next year. PJ Smith is another one but i feel like he's getting the "Sean Fisher" hype from last off season
  13. LouisianaHusker from rivals just predicted Owa !00% N. along with Cooper. and 80% N for Carnes. for those of you who don't know who LH is, he predicts the commitments of many future Huskers and is most of the time correct. lets cross our fingers...
  14. does anyone think illinois still has a shot? he announced that he probably won't visit FSU after his in-home with Zook. maybe he's still Illinois
  15. Nebraska Missouri Iowa State Kansas State Colorado Kansas Oklahoma Texas Texas A&M Oklahoma State Texas Tech Baylor
  16. he wants to major in business. the only business major UCLA offers is economics and he said something along the lines of... he's still looking to see if he would like economics. hopefully not because then its down to just us and Oregon
  17. agreed i think we can make that offense work. and yes, i would absolutely love to pound the rock consistently
  18. yeah that's my concern is that we are headed toward that kind of offense. i don't know enough about VT's offense to know what causes their ineptitude, but i think if we can run that style but just a little bit better than VT, we can do special things as a team. with our defenses in the future, our offenses don't have to be all-world, but at the same time, it doesn't mean we don't strive to be. i wouldn't be angry if VT's style is what we're going for, but i can think of a few better styles such as Bamas or Texas
  19. with all the QB recruits were looking at, including Cody Green, it seems to me like that's what we're looking at running. they usually have a pretty good run game with a fast QB capable of throwing, though not great at it. Cody Green, Brion Carnes, Kain Colter, Jamal Turner... is this the offense we're headed towards? and if so, is this what you want? VT is always a solid team but they always slip up along the way due to a lack of a good passing game, even with their defense and special teams thriving under Beamer Ball.
  20. i'm not too convinced that carroll was a great coach. he was a great recruiter and with all that talent i expected more from that team every season. i don't think they'll drop off next year just because all the talent will still be there, and heck.. maybe a better coach. yeah USC had a down year this year. but Barkley will be very good and they'll be back in the top 10. maybe #5 is a bit of a reach. i also think Oklahoma should be ranked ahead of Texas. i'd put Oklahoma at #8
  21. bo is too animated and intense to be a pro coach. NFL coaches are calm usually. look at all the most successful coaches. i see pelini as a saban-type coach. saban had no success i dont think pelini would either... thank god
  22. rumor is baker switches to OT and meredith moves to DT. therefore Ankrah starts at DE
  23. wow gilbert is looking good now. still can't throw a spiral though
  24. Really? You think Jake Cotton is the reason the staff MAY not take his commitment? It is about numbers by position. If the staff sees Harold as a TE or DE prospect like everyone thinks, then NU is full. Chase Harper at TE and a multitude of DE prospects have already given verbals. This has nothing to do with Jake. maybe im not understanding your point. but to me, your helping my point. if we don't offer a scholarship to Jake Cotton, who is a DE prospect, we have a scholarship open for Harold Mobley, a TE/DE prospect. how does my comment not make sense? i'm saying if we left a spot open at DE rather than give it away to a kid that probably walks on anyways, Mobley is ours. he's a good prospect and a team outside the top 25 in recruiting should not be passing up on him. Outside the top 25 in star ranking? Really? You need to be looking at the team average of stars, not the total number. NU has a small class, 3-8 players smaller then most teams this year. NU is currently 16th I think in average star ranking at 3.22 per player. It is quality that this staff wants, not quantity, like the last staff tried to do, when they signed the "number 1" class in 2005, they had 31 kids or something like that. i know were obviously a top 25 recruiting team but my point was unless you are USC or Texas, turning down this kind of player is never good. i understand his position is filled. i guess i'm just angry that a very good prospect is turned down. i understand the reasons though
