I feel like ever since the KU game, our defense has started to show some inconsistency in certain areas. While the local media chalks it up to fatigue from being on the field so much this year, I can't help but also wonder if its because the other teams have figured us out via film? The D needs that Pelini fire mentally & physically along with some error free execution. If there was ever a time to match or exceed what we did against OU, next weekend is the time to do it. We have to match McCoy's intensity and then some. I just hope we have enough left in the tank to do so.

BTW, don't be surprised if Mack Brown throws a trick play or two at our defense. Especially if we start getting too comfortable.

i think the key is for Wats to watch the UT/aTm footage over and over again. they knew what they were doing and it was more than just passion and emotion, UT was out-schemed, but the talent difference was just too much, especially with aTm's weak 'd,' however valiant they played. Wholeheartedly agree with this. Plus it wouldn't hurt if Watson could get his hands on the 1st quarter of the Auburn/Alabama game for added inspiration considering Alabama ranks #1 in total defense. Auburn had them guys rattled early in the game. Alabama had no idea what to expect next.

I say we keep doing what we've been doing with rotating them. I feel they complement each other quite nicely. When one is struggling, the other picks up the slack.

That's my concern. I don't want us to be so predictable next weekend. We can't afford to keep going 3 & out. Our D needs all the rest it can get. I guess the real question is, can the offense execute the trick plays properly if we do run them?

Surely he has a few trick plays stashed away for Texas, right? I wish Watson would rip some of those trick plays that Auburn used against Alabama during the 1st quarter. That was exciting as hell to watch even though they fell short in the end, but they played with a lot of heart and executed those trick plays well. Thoughts?

Would love to see a big game put together next weekend. Colt McCoy is gonna give our D troubles though. Even if our D shows up the same way we did against OU. It's QB's like McCoy who give us fits. He's a dual threat. We just have to go out with heart next week the same way Auburn did today with Alabama. Just give it everything we've got and then some and hope the end result is a Win.

Doubt it. He twisted that ankle the same way Gabbert twisted his against us. It took him several games before he was 100%.

Bo's not happy, plain & simple. Neither side of the ball met his expectations today.

Yeah that last play was a little demoralizing. Kinda put a damper on the victory, but whatever, I'll take it.

I read Bo's lips when the ref came down to tell him the game was over and he was hounding him about a holding call.

Ate up about 6:30 just pounding the rock. Gotta love Rex on that series. Dude was in beast mode.

Why? There's nothing good to talk about. scoreboard! goal's to win the game, don't care how... I care how. We're gonna have to play a lot better next week. and we'll worry about next week next week. our d will show up, and maybe our offense will finally have that special game we've all been waiting for. That would be nice. you never know, i agree Helu is our homerunner, but he is more finesse and burkhead seems to run a lot harder. with burkhead, the blocking can be more sloppy. It also helps that Rex is smaller so he can squeeze his way into those tight holes. that's really none of our business.

Damn. Rex is killing it out there.
