  1. Honestly, I hope TMart plays, I feel the same--we want your best team. However, just about every team that plays a schedule like both of ours is suffering with some injuries to key players. Luckily for us, we haven't had a 2009-type season when 3/4 of the team was watching the game from the ICU, sporting full body casts, but we are definitely dinged a little as well. I'm relieved DM will play, he was a real workhorse against Okie Lite. I don't remember another game where he has played so hard, and he's really developed as a receiver, which we desperately need. Anytime someone not named Ryan Broyles makes a catch, it's a plus for our team. I think this will be a defensive show-down as well, which is a little scary. We've been OK overall, but tend to give up a few big plays, which makes our offense assume the fetal position and quit, though that has improved over the last 2 games. Like I said, I still can't quite believe it worked out like this for the last CCG, the fact that both coaches come from Youngstown, OH, and are long-time friends, and the mutual respect our teams have shared in the past just makes it even better.
  2. Bob says DM will play Hey Huskers, I cannot wait!!! til Saturday, it's like a frickin' movie or something, two old battle axes going for the kill one last time. Here's to no injuries/bad calls, just a clean, amazing, unforgettable game for the ages. Again.
  3. I'm feeling pretty good about Landry Jones v. Gilbert Grape next year...especially with the hitters we have coming back on D, Gilby's gonna be hearing footsteps. In case you missed it, meet Ronnell "The Hammer" Lewis. 3 HUGE hits in the Sun Bowl, true Freshman.
  4. My Husker friends, is this fun or what???? Y'all got BENT OVER in the Big 12 CG, tejas told us all year that losing Sam was no excuse, and wow!!! What goes around, comes around, NEVER FAILS!!!!! I feel bad for Colt, hate to see kids get hurt, but I'm laughing my butt off thinking about all those @#%$ who cheered in Dallas when Sam went down. They are gonna have a LONG NIGHT!!! BWAHAHAHAH!!! ROLL TIDE!!! Hope they hang half a hundred on 'em, they're due.
  5. Here's another Sooner who'll be cheering for a different shade of red--orange is just sick and wrong. GO HUSKERS!!!!!!!!! CORN >>>>>>>> HORN!!!!!!!!!!
  6. I would love to see the Huskers put an old-school beatdown on LSU. I REALLY DON'T LIKE Les Miles. At all. If you win the North, I bet you get the Cotton--great traveling fanbase that will fill seats at Jerryworld, "name brand" team, etc. The selection committee is not bound by rankings or records, so if y'all win out and we win out, they would pick one of us over OSU, who can't even sell out their own stadium, imo. And since you beat us (sigh), I'm thinking you get the nod and we wander off to the Holiday Bowl. Maybe we can actually win that one. Finishing the season with a loss is beyond suckage.
  7. BTW, did y'all see Brody Eldridge in the neck brace on our sideline during the aTm game?? Thank your defense for that, poor kid (not that they were dirty or anything, just hardcore). I feel bad for him, he's played just about every position on the O except QB, awesome team player, just did whatever was asked of him, no complaints...I think he's one of Bob's alltime favorites, prolly not gonna play on Sundays, but just a great kid. Wish he could of finished his senior year, but good grief, we are injury-cursed this year. I've been a Sooner for MANY years, never seen anything like this year. I'm glad I don't have a kid playing for this team, I'd fear for his safety.
  8. Yeah, the Sand Aggies have been all over the place as well, this is not a game I would put any money on, that's for dang sure. Who knows what the hell is gonna happen, both teams are severely schizo. I hope we come in with a chip, it's been a long time since we won in Lubbock, but I'm concerned they might still be a bit ticked about last year in Norman--those 40 point beatdowns tend to linger in the collective memories. But it sure was fun at the time!!!
  9. Well Tech is having some QB issues, and I know our D will come to play, but, ugh, just so frustrating with the lack of consistency from the O. And I think we're down to like 6 lineman? If someone else gets hurt, we're gonna be pulling Crimson-wearing fat guys from the stands. Oh, and let's not forget, that was our walkon soccer-player-turned-placekicker doing the honors at the end of the game last night. Our scholly kids couldn't get the ball in the barnyard, much less hit the broadside of that barn. Hopefully it won't come down to a FG. If we lose by 1 point again, I'm gonna be physically ill. All that said, I think we can take em, just gotta pay attention and learn the snap count before Saturday.
  10. So y'all have played us both--whaddya think?? If the team that played y'all shows up, we're screwed. If the team that played KU/KSU/aTm shows up, we're in it. I really hate playing in Lubbock.
  11. how about we see you next year at the b12 title game? Sounds like a plan!!! See ya there!!!
  12. Congrats Huskers!! Good luck with the rest of your season, y'all got a great win. Game ball to your D and your crowd, poor little Landry looked like he wanted his mommy out there. Oh well, such is life for the diehard fans, we'll see if Landry hangs on to his job next year. This was his only really bad game so far, our busted up Oline didn't help, and we won't even talk about Suh. I'll be having nightmares about him, and I'm sure Landry will too! Anyway, see ya in a couple years, who knows where our teams will be then, but I'm sure it will be interesting, as always. Hope you don't mind if I check in with you now and then, I'm pulling for ya in the North, and then if you could please beat the snot out of tejas, that would be great!!!! Boomer!
  13. I'd love to see the Smurfs in LINCOLN!! Go Huskers! And we offered them a 2 in Norman, 1 in potatoland not long after the Fiesta bowl debacle, but they said, "No, thanks". Don't know what they're whining about now, almost lost to stinking LA Tech. BCS IS A JOKE!!!! BSU couldn't beat a fraction of the Big 12. Ok, rant over, but I hope it happens! I'd love to see them in Norman, revenge would be sweet!
  14. McCoy was a redshirt in 2006, thus, he is a Senior in college, Junior on the field. Perhaps you are familiar with the practice. And the point of the comment was that McCoy is a big man on campus--he has been the president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, he is involved in a ton of other student organizations, he does a lot of publicity for the school (watch the OU commercial during the game, that's McCoy holding the ballerina at the end), and he is very supportive of the other athletic teams--you'll often see him at women's basketball or volleyball games, cheering like a maniac. He kind of reminds me of Wayman Tisdale, just very upbeat, always a smile, trys to set a good example for the little Sooners who look up to him. I don't think it was meant to be a slight on Suh, just saying McCoy is a great kid, praising him for coming back and finishing school before going on to NFL glory, as I'm sure they both will. And I have no idea who is better, but McCoy is a beast, and you underestimate him at your own peril. I'm sure your coaches won't make that mistake. So the guy who made this original comment knows he is coming back next season then? I doubt he does. From OU's website:
  15. Thanks Huskers, never had a doubt this would get a great response.
  16. I'll tell you what is rich is NU fans trying to tell OU fans how to act. It's funny we bring up the 90's with regards to OU when we're basically living through the same thing with the exception of probation, sanctions, etc. OU has constant accomplishments. I believe Stoops holds the record for amount of consecutive BCS bowl appearances. Just so I'm clear, it's ok for us to talk about tradition even though its ancient history but not ok for OU to talk about constant accomplishments. If I were an OU fan, I'd be asking how the 2004 and 2007 seasons worked out for NU. I'd be bringing up the game from last year. I'd basically bring up nearly every game played this decade with the exception of one. Thanks! I like to tease y'all but it's good natured. I know what you're going thru, I was there in the 90's when they were giving tickets away--lot of respect for NU, 300 consecutive sellouts and counting is awesome, love the way you stand by your team. And the ND sign is just a joke for them "stealing" our sign, funny that they are now the ones associated with it. My sig pic is Sam's last full game, last game in Norman. We just didn't know it at the time.
  17. Saw this on another board, thought I'd post it here, Husker Nation has the kind of folks to fill this mailbox to overflowing. A friend of a friend has a five year old boy named Noah. He is in the final stages of Neuroblastoma cancer and his family is celebrating Christmas next week because Noah probably won't be alive in December. What he wants most is to see how many Christmas cards he can get for Christmas. If you are so inclined, send Noah a Christmas card and make his day. Noah Biorkman 1141 Fountain Viewcircle South Lyon, MI 48178 It's not a scam, they aren't asking for money, you don't even have to sign your name, just lift a little boy's spirits before he heads for home. Here's a link for more info. Thanks. http://www.zimbio.com/Noah+Biorkman/articl...+Old+Gets+Early
  18. We've had it since the Bud Wilkinson era--pretty sure Notre Lame has not.
  19. well you can't double team both of them. Didn't seem to be a problem for Iowa State.
  20. In Soonerland, we affectionately call this clip, "The Face". Hello??!!?? See ya on Saturday!!!
  21. I'm pretty sure our coaches know all about Crick, I figure they've watched some game film by now, but hey, that's just pure speculation.
  22. Just use my sig pic, every Sooner that sees it will be bawling uncontrollably.
  23. If it's not on 360, try justin.tv or channelsurfing.net--I've watched OU games on both of these this year, as I am a displaced Sooner. Last week was actually a very good pic of the KSU game. Of course, I will enjoy my TV much better this week, but it's better than nothing. Or Bob Barry Sr. on the Sooner Radio Network. Love Bob, but we need some new blood.
