Who else is a loss for us? Wisconsin is the best team left and Wisconsin cannot execute a forward pass. I feel like you haven't seem them play this year and think Russel Wilson still plays there. I'm not saying it's a 100% win but don't act like we've lost that game, plus two others, before they're even played.

Um, I'm not, this is ONE game, he had 6 receptions for a TOTAL of 75 yards all of last season. He's had 5 for a total of 46 yards this season, 43 of which came tonight. I'm not saying he won't get better, I'm saying I see him fall down A LOT and drop A LOT of balls. He's still learning, he's only a Sophomore, but he needs to put the work in. I agree with this. A few catches don't get you off the hook for spotty play all season.

It'll increase ratings among people who don't give a crap about college football and wouldn't normally watch it. The NFL lets almost half their teams into the playoffs. And they play more regular season games than college football. And the regular season is HUGE. Again, this is not college basketball. The regular season is not going to be diminished in any way. I'm not sure why that's a talking point really Just because those who oppose a playoff need a talking point. Doesn't have to have any basis in reality. Same applies to those who say "We don't need a playoff. The regular season is a playoff." If that's true, how can a team go undefeated and not even get to play for the championship? I think the same can be said for those who say we do need a playoff. College football was fine for over 100 years without a playoff. Just because there are those who have some sort of weird psychological need for imaginary resolution doesn't mean a truly successful sport should face the kinds of draconian changes that will come with a multi-team playoff format. Yes, it's a real question. Good try but UCF wasn't undefeated. There have been several non-BCS schools go undefeated and didn't get to play for the title. Not that I think they deserved it but if a team with a loss gets in over an undefeated team, it's not a playoff - it's a judgement. But Auburn did go undefeated in 2004 and didn't get to play for the title either. Ok so UCF had a loss, the point I was making is that it's UCF and they don't play anyone (a team such as UCF will likely be a wasted playoff spot in the 4-team system, even more so in an 8-team). Same concept. Outside of Auburn in 2004 (which I already brought up, welcome to the party, the food's a bit cold but I'm sure it's ok), there has not been one team from a major conference go undefeated and not play for a national title (that wasn't under sanctions, tOSU). Having more teams in championship contention or playoff qualification contention at any point in time will only increase interest. How many years have wildcard road teams (5 and 6 seeds) made or won the Super Bowl? They didn't even win their division. Anything can happen in the playoffs and the more teams you add, the more ridiculous it becomes. As an example, how many times does the best team win the NCAA basketball tournament? Rarely. Football and basketball aren't the same, as you've said but, the same principle applies. The more teams you add, the greater the chance of someone less deserving winning the title.
