  1. i thought he was the best thing since sliced bread?
  2. pretty much. look at how alot of the players have been treated. is it any wonder why they stone us or leave nu early? we were sold a bill of goods ever since pederson got the job and most of us bought it. now we are paying the debt. kinda like the national debt.
  3. they did better jobs of picking coaches too. i bet it doesn't take saban 4 or more years to get bama back to the top 15.
  4. so unc who has no football tradition or foundation will be a top 15 team in 3 years yet we are not. it looks like we did hire the wrong coach.
  5. No doubt. He's responsible for many of the recruits that have commited to NU. So no, he's not "right on the money". Missed the mark by quite the margin and showed that he doesn't really pay attention to what goes on in the program and who does what. Unless, of course it can aid in bashing his favorite team. Then he'll get after it. i never said he wasn't a good recruiter. if either of the two of you would bother to do research or pay attention to our games two of the worst coached areas are safties and special teams. busch coaches both.
  6. nope. that would be admitting failure. he would rather fail miserably deny it and let everone watch then admit failure and try to fix it. i bet we dont see any firings of some of the worst coaches (elmo, busch) on the staff either.
  7. Scott Downing left to become a Head Coach. John Blake left to become a DL/Asst. Head Coach/Recruiting Coordinator Norvell is leaving to become an OC with total control of an Offense Turner left to go to Green Bay and is now a Head Coach Which one took a demotion? If you think Blake took a demotion then you are kidding yourself. comparing working at a top traditional football power such as nu to working at second and third tier programs like ucla and unc is assinine. comparing coaching at nu and a div 2 school is idiocy. gill bailed on bc and quit coaching for a year lest you forget.
  8. how about the other numerous players that have jumped ship in the past 3 years? so much for it being temporarily and donating a liver So you think the likes of Harrison Beck, David Horne, Ross Pilkington, Grant Mulkey leaving is an indication of a sinking ship? no. but when you mix in a handful of qbs with beck being the perfect most bragged about qb recruit since frazier. one third of the greatest recruiting class in the history of football. a handful of assistants coaches who have taken demotions. senior captians like pilkington who have just quit. all americans like bullocks and washington who took off. jackson and congdon who were not happy with their rolls and left. if you look at the big picture and consider it then the question needs to be asked.

  10. shocked the guy could get another job. good riddance.
  11. ya that promised him the starting position again?
  12. bad recruiting. how many juco dt's do we need to waste scholarships on? nice to see that the 4 deep will have guys that will never see the field. how about an ol or a hs dt to build long term depth? looks good with the 25 wrs on scholly.
  13. sayers was a kansas native, moved to omaha and went to central.
  14. slim and none. we are stuck with him.
  15. really? isn't blake the "greatest recruiter ever?"
  16. he used the phrase "lack of integrity" to describe the coaches
  17. let's hope it ends better than the raiders did
  18. brought tingles up my spine is osborne coming out of retirement?
  19. Pretty soon we will just be left w/ Solich's recruits. Yeah, absolutely NO ONE from the 05 class has done ANYTHING. Taylor, Lucky, Glenn, Slauson, Hardy, Dagundaro, Potter, Cryer, Turner, Octavien, Bowman, Dillard, Hickman, Congdon, Suh and Bryan Wilson and 4 or 5 more that will vie for serious minutes next year. Go back about 4-5 recruiting classes ago and see how many of those guys saw the campus let alone made an impact. Here's your just seeing their names on the depth chart does not mean that they have accomplished anything. most are backups to inferior solich recruits, and the ones that do start are average division one players.
  20. that highly rated 2005 class is falling apart on us.
  21. i wouldn't chalk any of these last 3 games especially the a&m game up as a win. i agree. we did it 3 years ago and look what happened.
  22. big difference. osborne won 9+ games every year, usually lost only to top 20 teams, and almost never got embarrassed by bottom dwellers. mcbride's defenses were being overmatched by teams that finished in the top 5, not top the 40. the organization and preparation between osborne and callahan is striking. this is a totally inacurate comparison.
  23. usually i come here to check the "heartbeat of husker nation" not to add my 0.02. i must have missed the "positive contributions only" disclaimer at the top of the board.
  24. yep being embarrassed by the south's bottom deweller is just fine with me and all true fans. nothing's wrong here, everything is fine
  25. that's what happens when you make a controversial move and it backfires.
