  1. Looks like we got our QB for this class...what a week that was. Either way, Welcome to Nebraska, Brion.
  2. If that happens (I would bet we'll get one of Owa/Cooper, Carnes is out the window apparently) then we'll see Marsh come on as part of this year's class (could happen now that Carnes is out anyway), and we may see a guy like Denton Simek join our class at the last minute (former TTech OL commit). Other than that, start building on what could be a great class for next year. Turner, Reeves and Moore are going to be huge building blocks and even bigger recruiting tools. Not to take away attention from the 2010 class or anything, they'll be great, but 2011's class is shaping up to be amazing.
  3. He only has 14 favorites. I nominate him for next years (Owatch 2010-2011). Can he beat 46 pages??? I can start a rumor that he is Tommie's cousin and really get this kicked in high gear. Rumor? I have video of them at a family reunion...him, Carnes and TD Tommie are playing catch...in an equilateral triangle of 80 yards on each side. Left handed. With a medicine ball.
  4. It'll be a huge boost to this class to have a top QB recruit committed this early...especially one as enthusiastic about being a Husker as he is. I think we all owe Coach Beck a big round of applause for this one...sounds like he really connected with Jamal.
  5. I wouldn't be shocked if he went to WKU, because as Nexus said, he has a good chance at playing early on and he knows the coach. I still think he's more than likely a Husker in the end, but I'd put it at about 70/30 in our favor currently. Depending on how impressed he is with his visit there, that could swing any which way.
  6. Come on, man. That's so not fair to put Green in that list. It's extremely rare for a QB to be really good as a true freshman. Look at Pryor or Barkley. Both were pretty below average as true freshmen thrown into the fire, but Pryor has panned out very well and all signs point to Barkley doing the same. Plus, Green never even had the benefit of being the everyday #1 guy taking all of the reps like those other guys. Give the kid some time to develop before you slander him like that. I guess that came out wrong. I started off listing the QBs that didn't pan out...then I thought about how Green was a pretty big part of last year's class...I actually think Cody's the best of the 3 (Turner, Carnes, Green) to be honest. I have a white #17 jersey in my closet. I apologize for it coming across the way that it did. If I had any input, Cody would probably be starting next year.
  7. He might be the type of guy you give a small chunk of the playbook to the moment he steps on campus, and let him run those plays even as a true freshman. He's a game changer and should be utilized as such. Kind of like a wildcat package, only with more passing and option/pass plays mixed in to keep defenses honest. I'm so excited that this kid wants to be a Husker...he's probably going to be the most talked about QB recruit we've had in a long time...and that's saying a lot considering some of the names we were in on (even those that didn't pan out...Beck, Gabbert x 2, Freeman, Green, etc).
  8. I was never really worried about Western Kentucky, but it does make me feel better seeing WKU pick up another QB commit. So it's down to NU or USF, unless some SEC team makes a late charge. In other words, I love our chances too. late charge? at this point it'd be more like a Hail Mary Considering it's a dead (or maybe quiet?) period real soon, I'd say the chance of any late charge is pretty remote.
  9. Couldn't be a bigger commit at this point. Really good classes are almost ALWAYS built on an early commitment from a very talented QB...we already have two of the nation's top O-Linemen committed, and now one of the most exciting QBs too. If we can pull in Aaron Green, dare I say it...this would likely be our best class ever.
  10. It makes sense...hope you're right. Where'd you see that Fajardo cancelled his visit? HI staff posted a message saying they were informed he will no longer be visiting.
  11. It makes sense...hope you're right.
  12. Interested to see what comes of the in home visit tonight. Fajardo is no longer taking the visit to Nebraska this weekend...something's got to be up. I don't think he'd cancel his biggest visit 2-3 days before it happens if there was still a chance at him getting an offer.
  13. We pretty much knew he didn't have an offer yet, but the fact that he's not coming now makes me think either someone else is (Godfrey?) or Carnes is N.
  14. Good to know. Hope we really make an impression on this kid. It's pretty obvious he's our #1 offensive target remaining...go get him
  15. Marsh is every bit as good of athlete as Levorson was/is. A little bit shorter and thicker, but he's a good athlete.
  16. Not answering/returning calls according to the RSS guys. Not much they can do. If Watson really is visiting today, I'm sure we'll hear something fairly soon.
  17. I think it's just a new/reworded link to the same message board discussion that was already up. Nothing really new to report, except that Watson is supposedly in the Tampa Bay area today. A guy from RSS was on the flight with him.
  18. Wouldn't be surprised if he's at QB his first spring with the team (2011) to see what he's got. If the coaches aren't any more convinced he can play QB here, he'll probably be moved by that summer/fall so he can use his redshirt year to learn a defensive spot.
  19. Marsh was quoted in the rivals article yesterday saying he will start at QB. Bo said, "you can start wherever you want and if it doesn't work out we'll move you." Marsh responded with, "I'll start at QB." My bad. Two days ago they were saying he'd be a safety, obviously I should've read the newest article. I still think this playing him where he wants stuff is questionable though. He's lucky to be there and he's getting his way as far as position? If Bo thinks he could really be a qb then fine, give him his shot at qb. But if he thinks Marsh is a safety then don't piss around, make the kid a safety. A lot of it probably depends on how the roster shapes up when he actually starts practicing with the team in 2011. As of right now, he can play DT and wear 93 for all I care...he's not even part of the program yet. If we are somehow loaded at S when Marsh comes aboard, let him have his shot at QB. If we're thin at S, tell him sorry but we need you at S.
  20. You base this off of what? Listen, this is a kid who has film that hasn't changed in the least since November. He's a kid who has been to camp here numerous times and we have seen play in person countless times. He got an offer - a greyshirt offer during the end of January. He has not one other offer to speak of. Expecting anything out of this kid more than a ST player is reaching WAY too hard. Bo worked his magic for O'Hanlon. But he doesn't have super powers to the point that every time he offers a token kid that he can wave his magic wand and turn them into an all-conference caliber player. Just call a spade a spade. Marsh fringe D1 prospect who is getting the benefit of the doubt quite a bit. Save this post, and if Marsh contributes anything other than ST for us in his career, bump this thread back up and I'll GLADLY eat crow. One thing I wouldn't be surprised to see in Marsh's future...weakside LB. He's already got very good speed, and he's already 6' and 200 (or 5'11). Give him the greyshirt and redshirt years to work out in this program, and you've got a 20 year old kid who still has 4 years of eligibility remaining...by that time, he very well could be in the 220-230 range, and still have plenty of athleticism. We all know how Bo likes his fast LBs. In the end, I see him as a SS though.
  21. wtf is "goggle"? I think google is a new information gathering place... kind of like a phone book perhaps since he wants you to find a restaurant. It's all about the attention to detail... goggle =/= google.
  22. That's actually a compliment when it comes to talent evaluation and recruiting. So are you saying this kid and Evans are superior athletes over Corey Young, Souder and Levorson??? I'm not trying to get into anything, but Cally offered ships to all of these guys that lasted a year at NU, they ended up transferring to UNO or quit football. I guess Bo was right, he said he'd get his QB and he got him. Not sure if Marsh is going to stay at QB...but he may get a chance if we strike out on the remaining QBs on our board.
  23. Fajardo is coming in for a visit next weekend according to Rivals.
  24. I hope this is legit...good news if so
