I'll just call this the mood swing thread. That says quite a bit if they missed the game and are still trying to come to Lincoln. That seems like a pretty pleasant sign to me.

You aren't misremembering. I remember reading several articles as well that he could play pitcher, but that most clubs were looking at him as an outfielder. I'm kind of confused where that assumption is coming from as well.

I love this kid. Theatre and football. Those are my two loves as well. Cyrus it's time to come to UNL and get your BFA in acting. I'm going to be honest though, UNL has a beautiful performance space and a ton of money in their program, but their productions aren't the best. Talent and teaching are semi-lacking there. USC would be a good choice out of his visits for theatre. Or come to South Dakota. I'll be in a show with him.

I agree with you grateful. The big question is whether any of these guys can be converted into DE's. I know Rome was a DE/DT coming out of h.s. I think Todd Peat has been classified as both too correct? It seems like DE is a more crucial spot for us than DT from my perspective as well.

I prefer both because we have seen what it's like to get down to our 3rd string qb and have to run the wildcat with a rb instead. Plus, I think it would be sweet to have a two qb system where Jamal lines up all over the place, WR, slot, rb, and qb. If it comes down to us only getting one of the guys, i pick Jamal. I'm super pumped about Bubba, but Jamal has that electricity that can be used all over the place.

i usually dont make those bold recruiting predictions but my guess on this one based on what i've heard is that he is moving to the east coast.... Then that would be one of the "among others" schools... Any school prediction Irie, or just heard that he wanted to head out east?

Have you seen jamal throw in person, because lately I have been impressed with martinez throwing the ball. I feel like unless bubba plays baseball, jamal won't be throwing the pigskin around at nebraska. I disagree. Maybe in the wildcat or on designed plays? I just can't see him unseating Martinez. Which means, if he redshirts and watches for 2 years he'll have 2 left so it's certainly possible - but can you see Bo keeping him on the sidelines for 2 years? He's going to be playing - he's too great of an athlete - I just don't see it being from under center. By his junior year when a spot opens he'll be settled at another position IMO. Now, if Martinez happens to leave early...then maybe...I just don't see Martinez being the type of QB that will be wanted so desperately in the NFL that he'd leave. When Green and Martinez were coming in, did anybody really think that Martinez might be our starting qb for the future? At the beginning of the year Jerrod Johnson was being hyped up as a Heisman contender and has been unseated by a receiver. Do we really know what is going to happen when these two QBs get here and start competing against what we already have? No idea. We do know that Bo preaches competition, and we know that he doesn't just spout that off. Martinez got a fair shot, Jamal will get a fair shot too. He's getting on the field no matter what. It's a little premature to say that Jamal can't throw like Taylor. High school ball is so predominantly run that the comparisons are too difficult to make until the players reach campus. He will get his shot.

Dennard could probably leave early and be a late first rounder or early second, but couldn't Prince have done the same last year? Now they are talking about Prince being a top 10 draft pick. Why would you not come back and enhance your draft status. I think it's a no brainer that Crick should come back. He probably would've gone higher if he left last year compared to this year.
