  1. From all I have read and heard i really think devin is a longshot at best for us, hope i aam wrong as i think he would be the jewel recruit in this strong class. I think he will end up somewhere he will have a shot to start at qb next year. I could see him at ucla, arizona or rutgers, he just doesnt seem to have a lot to say about nebraska these days, i feel like we arekinda falling off his radar. Again i hope i am wrong, want him here real bad.
  2. We have to remember this is bo's first head coaching gig, there will begrowing pains. If we can consider 9 wins a down year for a while, during the build up process, we have to consider ourselves lucky. This isnt 1997, the lanscape has changed and we are not the top of the food chain anymore. If we want to get back threre we need consistency and stability. If we dont have that, we will not see top recruits even look at us and we will become minnesota. I am not happy with this season either, but starting over again isnt the answer everytime there are problems.
  3. ND fans are pretty sure he is theirs to lose, they say he fits the "kelly qb" perfect. Im not sure what they mean, i have always seen kelly use a more prostyle qb, mobile but not really a big run threat. Hope he does see that he would fit our system much better.
  4. Exactly, its not like we use wrs anyway. Opens up space for another d player. We have plenty of unrealized talent at the wr position wasting away until martinez graduates as it is.
  5. What else are you hearing? Is he listening?
  6. Before we hand Michigan the Legends division, lets remember they had the easiest schedule in the Big 10 last year. Also, although I believe Hoke is a good coach, he has only been there one year. It looks better than it did for Mich, but I am not ready to anoint them as back yet. They need to make it through a few seasons with similar success. They kind of backed their way into the BCS, and I think another program, that you are saying is not competitive, has had 10 win seasons. Is that program (NU) on a huge observable upswing in your eyes? OSU is the cream of the conference and will be for a while. MSU is going to have a few rebuilding years, as will Wisconsin. Because I live in Michigan I have been following the Big 10 for a while, it goes in cycles and they beat each other up every year. It is a very unpredictable conference. Lets not sell the huskers short based on one season, next year they may win it all, they may not. We can never know until they play the games.
  7. I wish I shared your optimism, at this point I am really nervous about Devin. I don't like to be a "sky is falling" guy, but I really feel we may lose this kid. I have kind of felt like he wasn't ever going to come here. Now that I read his comments about ND, I feel even worse about it. It sounds like that is where he wants to be, if they still want him at QB (grew up a fan, coach is a fan, same team colors....etc..). At this point we have to hope Gunner Keil commits to ND and they cool on Devin. Out of all the recruits, this is the one I wanted most all along. Please, someone talk me off the edge and give me some news that points in another direction.
  8. wait, what? No ND boards believe keil is coming to ND; most think he is LSU bound... http://www.domerdoma...ead.php?t=37449 Take it for what it is worth, not saying it is gospel. Both threads on Keil seem to think he is going there. Of course the LSU boards think he is coming their way too........
  9. Thanks, I wasn't too worried it just kind of took me by surprise. However, it does seem to be their recruiting philosophy lately, "Lets see who Nebraska is after and just follow them around. We can give them pots of gold, and blue diamonds, orange stars, green clovers and purple horseshoes.......They will all want to play for the great ND!"
  10. someone on a ND board made a comment that they were talking to Greg, anyone have any further info on this?
  11. word on the ND boards is that Gunner Keil is committing to ND tonight or tomorrow (from their reliable sources). If it turns out to be true it sounds like Devin won't even visit ND.
  12. Reading some ND boards, they mostly believe and are hearing rumors that he is still leaning towards Nebraska. Take it for what it is worth, but sometimes is seems we are trained to expect the worst. Maybe he is staying after all.
  13. hopefully he sees that ND offense does not fit his skill set at all. They are a pro-style offense, he is a dual-threat. If he can't see that they are just playing him to get him as a WR or DB he can't make good decisions, which he said was a strength of his. Hopefully he will see the truth and realize that he fits our offense much better as a QB.
  14. Pull the trigger Devin! Any word when he is making things final?
  15. Was reading on some LSU boards about this kid. They are all impressed with him and think he will be a great player, they just claim to not have the room for him. Not sure where he would fit best, but seems to have some great athleticism, we can always use that
  16. Great addition! I was watching his twitter when he made his choice. I was totally expecting to see him choose Arkansas. Love the fact that he is already recruiting for us, hopefully those efforts pay some dividends.
  17. Even though I hate to see any talent leave us, I would rather lose this one than most of the others we have in the fold right now. We don't really utilize our receivers much anyway. Perhaps that will change with Armstrong or Fuller, but as long as we don't pose a passing threat from the QB position receivers are a secondary thought in the offense. We seem to have some talent at the position already and if I were a top flight receiver I'm not sure I could see myself in our offense as it stands. ND on the other hand throws the ball all over the field. Hope he stays, but can't blame him if he chooses to go where his talent will be more utilized.
  18. I really really want this kid to be N. I think he would provide a true dual-threat QB. I like Armstrong, and he may prove to be a great one, but Fuller seems to have "it" and to have a freak like this with Green, Abdullah, Turner and Bell on offense would be a lot of speed all over the field. If he can throw the ball it would be devastating. Although Tmart is fast, he doesn't have the ability to make people miss. He has straight forward speed. Most of his TDs are from missed D assignments on the spread option where he runs straight by people. Fuller is more like a Denard Robinson that can actually juke people and run by them.
  19. If we land Fuller, Peat, Valentine and Lambert this class is a huge success. Come on guys commit already! Any others on the list would be great additions too, but those are the four I want most. I think with Fuller and Armstrong we would have a shot to have one of the two be a game changing QB. Don;t get me wrong, I like Tmart, but I still don't think he is a QB. Tommy looks like he will add the forward pass to our offense, and Fuller looks like he is a freak. If Fuller proves he can throw the ball he could add a Vick type presence to our offense and with all the other young potential on that side of the ball we could be unstoppable. With Seisay added and the other commits on defense, I like the looks of this class. Add Lambert and possibly Afalava and we have the makings of a dominant defense (Diggs and Beaver would solidify this) I really think the future looks bright. Next year may be another rough one unless Tmart learns how to throw and become a legit dual-threat QB. But after next year I see us really kicking some doors in.
  20. Why would they move him to CB? We need the ball in the hands of play makers. Hopefully with a year of experience and the incoming recruits we supposedly are getting, the CB position will be locked down. It never hurts to have some depth at RB, personally I think moving him would be a bad move.
  21. hmmm, or maybe some other LB prospects have given some secret commitments.......I smell a conspiracy.
  22. Did he have a visit to Rutgers this weekend? Anyone heard anything new on him, I can't find anything, seems awful quiet
  23. good thing he didn't visit the Michigan game. I was there, it was not pretty at all. Only thing positive was seeing Suh on the sidelines. MSU doesn't have that great of an atmosphere, nothing like Nebraska's.
