  1. Stanford and Georgia Tech both have strong tendencies to lose games when not scoring much or having leads before half. We used to have the same discussions back in the day. Some are just too young, or too forgetful, to remember.
  2. We should be paying attention to what Riley says week to week because we're seeing in real time how he addresses issues. We don't need to wait to see that. When questioned about a decision, Riley will give an answer suggesting the problem needs addressing. Next week, same questions because we see many of the same decisions. It's really apparent since conference play started and you can tell even the media is starting to really question things. The media is usually the last to do so, if for no other reason than they're reliant on cooperation for their stories. Let's ignore the question on if he has control of the players and ask if he has control of the coaches.
  3. What lost this was preparation. Purdue identified things they couldn't do well and tried to fix them. They're bandage solutions to be sure, but there was genuine effort to try to win this game. Granted, that 8 man front they showed will be exploited to holy hell by the next offensive coordinator....and if your offensive strategy is to QB sneak all day then you need to up the difficulty on Madden. But there was real preparation. They know they aren't any good so they tried to be more aggressive. More trick plays. More moving the pocket. More single coverage. More going for it on 4th down. As much as all of that is too high risk to be viable for long, they still identified an opportunity and went for it. And what did we do? Backup QB in a must win game making his first start on the road and we play exactly to tendencies. Takes 3 quarters to see the middle of the field is open all day. A decent offensive coordinator needs only a series or two, at the most, to see any inside release against that coverage is easy pitch and catch. No, what happened in this game was they were so much better prepared that the game got out of hand early, limiting our options, and giving the home underdog the momentum.
  4. I agree with this. We see the same reaction from Riley to adjustments by his staff on both sides of the ball. It may be even more apparent to us fans because he gets more direct questions by the media towards offensive decisions than he does defensive decisions.
  5. He can't save face. An AD's job is too closely tied to whatever is the bread winner sport for that school.
  6. Purdue ranked 122nd is scoring before today. I actually thought we'd do well against a team that can't throw the ball, move the ball, or find the stadium. Silly me.
  7. Purdue showing why they don't win. Horrible series.
  8. I tried this two quarters ago....when it was still a game.
  9. "Barring a comeback"That's cute At least Illinois isn't getting their ass kicked. Oh wait.
  10. Only took 3 quarters to see the middle is wide open.
  11. The defend Riley at all costs camp doesn't understand this. They'd rather blame a bunch of college kids. Some of those kids have babies. Please stop insulting these grown men.
  12. It's still Purdue. No more treats. I'm not panicking and neither should they.
  13. We've already been last in at least 3 statistical categories this year. What's one more thing.
  14. Let's be fair. Kansas has more conference wins the last three years.
  15. Have you seen our run blocking ??? Have you seen Mavric's posts?
  16. You missed lots of games then. TTech is coming to mind. But let's not go there we can be shi**y enough just watching this. TT would have put up 50 against this Purdue team without breaking a sweat. By half. We've never lost to a coach that had this kind of record. Hard to play a game against a coach who could have this kind of record.
