  1. he's listed on their roster as a freshman here. As near as I can tell the 2009 team was their first. Unless I'm reading something wrong. Went to history and it doesn't have much to go on. Records says after the season. So, I'm guessing he was a freshman last year. Hopefully he has his grades in order this time..
  2. Sorry never mind, I was way off. Port Arthur Texas for crying out loud.... Spelled it wrong the first time..
  3. I can't for the life of me remember where this kid went to high school. Omaha Central seems to come to mind. Anybody??? Did a quick search with no luck as yet.
  4. Hmm.. I you realize he's had NFL talent his entire career here. He was a touted recruit coming in, and should have seen the field often by his sophomore season. We complained about our lack of WR talent. Well we can see there was talent that wasn't utilized correctly. I think the same can be said about Meno Holt. Gilmore has to go. By his sophomore season? Didn't we have guys like Swift, Peterson, Nunn, and Purify in those years? But his junior and senior seasons, yes, he should have had more opportunity to step up. It's disappointing he didn't get more chances. Is it possible that Gilmore has a tendency to keep players in his dog house to long?? Maybe Brooks was never in there, he never complained. Then again, it's hard to tell what goes on in practice. Uh oh, we talkin' about PRACTICE? lol Just asking, I really don't understand. It sure won't look good if Chris get on the field in the NFL.
  5. I would say more of a Chris Kelsay or Kyle Vanden Bosch type. Wouldn't it be all good if he were any of these types?
  6. I like all of the analogies. It's a refreshing take. Kinda like the Lincoln-Kennedy thingy. You know bookstore/theater.... Just fun, cool little read. Thanks
  7. I am Irish and I can't stand ND. I like the home and home for 8 weeks with UT. If this is true and they are trying to get special deals to join the Big 10, it wouldn't surprise me but I can't see it getting approved. The Big 10 should have a CCG game and the winner should go on to the NCG. The SEC seems to have the other half of that NCG locked up, so the winner of the new Big 10 would surely be in line to play for a National Championship. Probably shoulda put this in my post
  8. the overall talent level is substantially better in Class A. Mostly due to sheer numbers. Of course the top end talent is going to remain the same throughout the different classes, but Class A teams overall talent level are superior to those of smaller classes. exactly - where the margin's appear smaller is in the individual sports like track/golf/tennis. As far as the team component goes in those sports, class A will still almost always come out on top, but individuals can shine over the A kids. In terms of the sprints this year, class B is substantially better than class A...mainly due to Davie and a couple of others. Overall I'm sure A is still better however. All I'm saying is somewhat, not substantially. Beatrice for instance plays summer basketball against both Lincoln and Omaha teams. Year in and year out they play right with em'. Am I saying that they whip up on them??? No They do how ever let em' know they been in a ball game. I just don't understand what the big deal is about the Huskers recruiting class B, C, or whatever. I would imagine for one thing they have seen these kids in their camps. And that is all I have to say about that...
  9. Welcome Daimon Stafford. Did ya see what he said about being able to play linebacker in the box??? Hmmm sounds like a perfect for the,,,,oops seems as though some take offense to the P word so I won't say it....Oh what the heck,, PESOS.. Blame Bo they're the one that came up with the name. At least it's better than the sixpence...
  10. Captain K, on 17 May 2010 - 03:23 PM, said: Lee gave us a chance to lose to Iowa freakin State. Or possibly a chance to win.... I think he had right at 250 yds. passing, while we managed a whopping 140 on the ground...
  11. They asked him how his list of questions was viewed by coaches. He said very well and that some coaches even commented how they were going to basically use something similar. Meaning I guess use his sheet as a kind of FAQ sheet...
  12. I don't understand this Class B thing. My son played at Northeast when King was coaching there and actually transferred to Beatrice in his junior year. He said there was a whisker difference between A & B ball. B ball is NOT as forlorn as you make it sound.... There was some kid named Steinkuler. He played at this large school in SE Ne. Oh yeah Sterling...Hmmmm What class is that.... D-ball... I could go on but what's the point it's kinda like
  13. This kid was on First Take this morning.... I don't think we will know about this one for a while...
  14. How many times have we heard this lately...? Yep, I would imagine that's gonna happen a lot. lol Prolly every time we recruit those 6'2"/210/4.4 guys... Pretty much a SS playing in the linebacker position at times. Or maybe it's just fun to say..... PESOS....
  15. Are we offering as a WR?? Cornerback?? Quarterback?? Or just an athlete??? He was certainly impressive winning the 100 meters. He wants to run track also. So we fit the bill there.. Sounds like he was very excited to get an offer from Oklahoma. Looks like we are coming in a little late...hehe... Just reading in another thread. And the beef there was that we offer to many, to early... I did notice on the tape that there are times when it looks like the defender has the angle on him and he blows right by them. Very adept at the zone read. You all do a really good job of keepin' up with the recruits and vids and what-not. I for one really appreciated it. One problem till I get through all these recruits Ima gettin' a sore arse...
  16. Sounds like a great fit for the Pesos...
  17. Texas is to greedy and full of themselves. Part of the reason the Big 12 doesn't have their own tv network is because UT wants their own tv network period. I really hope their arrogance bites them in the arse. Of course ND ain't to far behind... Maybe they should buddy up and be the Big 2. They could do a home and home for 8 wks.
  18. You are betting on that? I'll take that bet. What do you say... $100? I'll wager you $100 that Gabbert does not throw 2 Ints, $150 that he won't throw 3. Did anybody take this guy's money??? hehehe.... I woulda wanted odds for the 3 pick bet, but 2 might have been a straight up bet... Boy these threads get pretty goofy....
  19. Don't forget Dominic Raiola and Daniel Bullocks. The Detroit Lions have suddenly become my favorite team.
  20. No particular team scares anyone on the Husker team or coaching staff, I'm sure of that. Has anyone noticed that this Texas thing is starting to feel a little bit like the Sooner Magic of the TO years?
  21. Relevance and back can be argued all day with out agreement. But if your spending your time watching last years NU vs ISU game and can come away with the feeling that you will have the upper hand this year I want what your smokin.' If you just landed here from another planet and watched that game with out seeing any of the scoring and none of the turnovers there is no way on earth you would come away thinking ISU won that game. The stat line. tot. yds. ISU-239 NU-374. Now I agree neither are eye popping, buuuut, nuff said... Now get those Clones relevant, as in top 10 material. So we in Huskerland can get that big win. hehehe
  22. I loved the vid Husker 37. Spine tingling. While I was watching that something came to me. We really do need to win the NC this year. Then if we bolt to the Big Whatever it would be called and win one there, I'd imagaine we would be the first team to win a NC in 3 different conferences.
  23. I bet Bo and Wats are pouring over this in making their qb decision....
  24. The way I understand it NU will have to buy equity in the Big Ten Network, besides the loss of revenue in Big 12 penalties for a lack of a better term. IMHO, I don't think anything formal has been offered. TO won't lie period, end of story. That doesn't mean that there isn't some type of informal offer on the table(I believe there is). All that being said I don't believe we can turn down the long term big money. I have been trying to find a link that explained how NU is the #2 choice of the Big 10 due to the tv appeal. The numbers in that article has us behind ND but far ahead of the other players in number of viewers, not in-state but nation wide. Born and bred Husker fans that have moved to other parts of the country are some of the best at converting others to Husker Nation.... I witnessed this first hand in Houston. A good friend of mine lives there and I was there for the bowl game. He had 10-15 Texans in Husker gear watching the game and high-fiving as though they were raised in the shadows of Memorial Stadium. It was quite a sight indeed. 75% we go.
