  1. A quick glance at last year's top kids in California and 10 of the 25 left coastal states. More than half stayed out west but that's a broad brush stroke.
  2. Maybe not a CB but if WR Mike Nobler would have lived up to the hype I could see a jump like that.
  3. I don't get why these kids are silent commits. If they're studs, like a four and five star, then commit publicly and get other top talent to join you. Bookie committing early I think really helped with earlier momentum.
  4. Looking at a very small set of data (last year), we didn't get a bunch of verbals right after, so maybe timing of FNL doesn't matter as much? Here's our June-Christmas commitments from last year: Deiontae Watts DT Plano, TX 6'3" 290 5.6 9/18/16 Guy Thomas DE Miami, FL 6'3" 205 5.8 8/8/16 Ben Miles RB Baton Rouge, LA 6'1" 215 5.5 7/31/16 Broc Bando OL Bradenton, FL 6'4" 279 5.5 6/17/16 Since June this year, we got Joshua Moore on 6/18. Not sure if a move back to July would be beneficial or not. Just thought it was interesting how many of our commitments came in from June-Dec. Hopefully more this year with the early signing date.
  5. What took so long for a staff with a connections in Oregon to offer a guy like this?
  6. Does Nebraska really want to compete against schools like Ohio State, Michigan, Clemson...etc.?
  7. Have you seen Last Chance U? May not be as hard as you think.
  8. No interviews, huh...and should we also "respect your decision"? Blessed. You're not going to have a tough time meeting the requirements, show up on HuskerMax, then say you never wanted to be here anyways, are you?
  9. How'd it go from 15-16 to 21? I know about Watts and Blades, but what am I forgetting? It started at 15 open spots but since we can over-sign by three we could always sign 18. If Jones redshirts does that drop us by one?
  10. Nebraska does this too. I believe it can't have their name on it.
  11. Says IMG above him but the jersey is from last year when he was at Calabassas.
  12. Typically once a recruit verbals, the board mostly stops talking about him. It's fun to watch this kid and keep tabs.
  13. Isn't he a little short at 6-2? I thought we wanted those guys taller.
  14. We need one DT a year and already have one. If we take two it will be a higher caliber player.
  15. How is there still no concrete answer as to what's going on? Has a reporter asked the coaches? The recruit? He's a top 100 talent and there's just rumblings on boards from 'sources?' Or did I miss something? Ok, enough questions. Right?
  16. I don't think taking a qb every year has anything or at least very little to do with attrition.I disagree. We skip this year and let's say POB or Gebbia leave next year. Then we are down to two scholarship QBs. And what if the next year we just have an unproven young player with no backup. #attritionmakestheroomempty
  17. Solved that one like a character from a Dan Brown novelA real symbologist...
  18. Would shoot us from 15 to 9 and he'd be our top rated composite recruit. Let's go!!!
  19. Read the threadYeah yeah, I see the connection made. It's just that the thread was derailed about lifting and seemed to be going back down the rabbit hole.
  20. Agreed. I also wonder how many of these kids read: "we want you" or "you'd be great in our offense" as an offer. Plus, making it look like you've got a bunch of great offers is a nice self promotion tool to get more. Since colleges can't say whether or not someone has an offer I'm guessing lists are a bit inflated.
