I can tell you what the outcome will be a year in advance. Nebraska will beat the ever-loving piss out of Michigan. Michigan still won't have a defense, and the Nebraska defense can (and most likely will) stiffle anything RichRod puts out there (if he's still the coach).

IF both teams are in the same conference, and IF both teams play the last game of the year; THEN it most resembles the impact that the game has had for the last century. Now, since the decision was made, I'm glad to see that the intra-conference games DO count in the overall division standings; THUS, there is some importance (however, it's still not ideal in my eyes). I don't want to play Michigan twice in the same year. I want THE GAME to be a once-and-for-all each year. Quite probably so. I doubt that they (the Big Ten brass) would re-align it with regards to Ohio State-Michigan though. Ultimately, I view the way this played out as "okay". It's not the best, but it could have been a LOT worse.

Considering he is the ONLY SOURCE for your offense, I'll give him kudos for his production so far; however, this could be 2009 redux. Remember how much of a saviour Tate was at the beginning of last year. Anyway... by the time THE GAME comes around, we'll have to see if Denard is 1) not injured, 2) how many more players transfer, and 3) see how your boys perform when they meet a team with a pulse on offense AND defense.

To be honest, my opinion as a Buckeye is somewhat similar to the Hawkeye mindset. However, I hope to explain it a little better than that OP. My seasonal goals according to importance are: 1) Beat Michigan. 2) Win Big Ten Championship. 3) Win Bowl Game/National Championship. The penultimate consideration for most Buckeye fans is going to be beating Michigan. This can turn a poor season into a positive, and it adds a LOT to an already successful campaign. Furthermore, typically, steps 2 and 3 can be drastically hampered if step 1 isn't taken care of. There ARE a great many variables that go into a National Championship season, and many of those variables are not in the hands of the team. Beating Michigan on the field is very much tangible in that consideration.

Btw, Michigan Man I wanted to give you, as a fan, props for two things: 1) the win. Wolverines played a good game. and 2) Definitely a feel good story regarding Brock. Other than that, your team still sucks.

Not particularly happy with splitting tOSU and Michigan into different divisions. I'm an "all the marbles" kind of guy when it comes to THE Game. In the immediate future, I look forward to welcoming Nebraska to the Big Ten with my Bucks coming to Lincoln. I'm hoping that my grandfather-in-law has an extra ticket available for me.

Was it near deafening when the crowd would jiggle their keys during the "Key Play"s of the game? I hear that it's a LOT louder with the sky boxes up on the other side finally.

FWIW, I rooted for State Penn, JoePa, and Clark to win against LSU. I enjoyed the outcome very much. I felt this way in spite of the despicable video with the pelting of two Buckeye fans at State College. Over my life time, I've run into great PSU fans. I've never seen the idiots with my own two eyes; however, I have to admit that seeing that video incited me. Anyway... I imagine that my Buckeyes will continue the Big Ten Championship streak this year. IF TP comes out the way many are expecting; THEN it may very well be NC or bust.

It's just a transitory fact. Polar opposites at all times and places. Trust me, it's a good show. The tOSU-UM rivalry is something that is worth it. Besides, it's not really a matter of arguing as much as pissing on each other's graves. How were your ears able to overcome the shrill sounds on the "key" plays of the game?!

Personally, I don't think competition is something that keeps Texas from the SEC as much as the academic liability as that conference is.

I'm sure you enjoyed it as much as I did watching your bowl season the last two years.

Free Shoes University is an unproven commodity with Jimbo. Urban Myer will continue to eat his lunch as long as he's there. Miami is a shadow of its former self, and Wandy is a weak coach. Wisconsin destroyed them in the Bowl Game, and tOSU is going to do the same (if not destroy) to them this coming September. As for GT, are you under the impression that the ACC is really more than a basketball conference? Really? VT, GT, BC, and the like are okay teams; but they're not championship contenders in football. You're not really making a strong argument for those four teams boosting an already spectacular conference. All these teams will do in my mind is provide more fodder for the elite teams to whoop on.

What precisely has FSU, Miami, Clemson, and GT brought forth that would make you think they'd empower the SEC any more? For goodness sakes, the SEC is already 6-0. Not like they've had difficulties winning it when they get there.

I imagine that even beyond they'll be the same. Fox owns 49 or 51% of the BTN. Fox also owns DirecTV which is one of the reasons why the BTN is so accessible on DirecTV. Furthermore, the viewership on the West Coast will never match that east of the Mississippi. Therefore, $ will always favor the BTN in this matter.

PBC has never said that Texas is Big Ten bound. There's not been one statement that resembles Chip Brown's six, no four, teams to the Pac Ten guarantees that keep getting whittled back. PBC has said that there have been discussions and nothing more. Chip Brown says that the Big XII was surprised at Nebraska going to the Big Ten. Equine excrement.

And just so you don't have to peg down my Welcome to the Board post, I'll summarize. I measured a 'Husker 10 1/2 years ago. I have had frequent discussions with her family about 'Husker Nation and the tradition that resides in the shrine of Memorial Stadium. I have had a pleasant meeting with said Nation for the time of my marriage. Furthermore, I've been on HuskerBoard.com for a total of three days and have many-fold posts to see that the vast majority on this board don't mirror your feelings nor presentation style. They, to me, embody what I had already experienced of 'Husker Nation as great people. This marriage between Nebraska and the Big Ten is a good thing. I can understand mourning the loss of past rivalries; however, the dawning of a much greater future is evident.

IF ND's football program listened to the wishes of their academic personnel; then this would have been done a LONG time ago.
