  1. Nebraska is going to have some arms next season! Perry, Shanaman, Frank, Olson, and Bunz return. Also, don't forget about Colby Gomes coming back from tommy john. Add to that Christo, Hood, and now Ornelas!

Should have a strong competition for weekend starters and the backend of the bullpen should be stout.

I think Povich leaves, 60% chance Wynne comes back, and 50/50 on Hallmark.

    Wynne is going to sign.

I'd bet Hallmark will likely be gone as well, but hope I'm wrong.

  3. Now in the 6th and Christo and Mason still on the board. Christo is almost a lock to be in Lincoln next year. If Mason still on the board after the 8th, I'd have to think he will be in Lincoln as well.

Highly unlikely he comes back. Twins wouldn't have drafted him unless he committed to signing with him. He was projected to go round 6-8 so picking him this early means he's gone.

Exactly. The Twins pick him there because they know he will sign and that they (likely)get him to sign below what the spot is worth (and use left over money in higher slots).

  5. Almost through the Competitive Balance B (compensatory after 2nd Round) and Christo has not been taken. Signing bonuses about to drop below $1 million are a good thing for those of us rooting for Christo to come to play college ball.

what's the chances that they already have someone either committed or in mind, and now they are doing the  "national search", using a firm, act for appearances sake?

I'd say not likely. I'm sure they have people in mind on a short list - but how would Green justify paying a search firm when he already had the hire in place? Especially with the budget cuts due to COVID.

Does anybody think that they know the real reason behind Moos' departure? Genuinely asking that.

Unless we know the actual root of that situation I think it's kind of hard to speculate on everything downstream from it.

I heard he drives over the border to Iowa to buy sweetcorn in the summer.

I heard he would only order Pizza Hut for office pizza parties over Valentino's.

Anyone that has watched all the games under the Frost tenure would probably agree we looked the best the 2nd half of year 1. Simple way to put it- under the Frost tenure has there been a period that other teams actually had a concern or worry in playing Nebraska? The 2nd half of year 1 other teams were concerned with us. Urban Meyer essentially said that. Nebraska was a dangerous team. We actually threatened Ohio State that year. Ohio State has not been threatened by us since.

I'd say Ohio State was fairly threatened in the first half of the game last year.

Well recruits are already saying they think Frost has it headed in the right direction so you're demonstrably wrong.

Family friends (all walk-ons) on the team have also said this is the most talent and competition there has been in the last 3-4 years (since they've been there), and it is not even close. Take it for what its worth.

This makes a lot of sense on the wonkiness of the ratings.

Still, Nebraska isn't exactly competing with elite programs for most of these players. This is in part because coaches haven't been able to evaluate and offer as they normally would.

Nebraska was actually in early on two guys (Kanak and Samson) which we were leading for and will/may lose out to elite programs (Clemson/Bama and Ohio State).

Nebraska currently has 7 commits, none of whom are 4* players.

If the class is about half full, there is talk the class could be as small as 15, every single commit from here on out needs to be a consensus 4* player for this class to be competitive. The program needs 8-10 of those players each year to be where we want the program to be.

Frost is not even close right now.

I understand what you are saying; however, this is an odd year in the ratings with lack of camps last year and this spring. I think a couple of the current commits will get ratings bumps and the most likely to get to 4* are: Page, Jones, Hausman, and Torres.

What is there that stops a booster from going to a top recruit and saying, if you come to our school, I’ll pay you $1,000,000 to tweet about my company while here?

The longevity of that company would be in serious question... but I get what you are saying. Boosters and their companies will likely reallocate resources and Nebraska companies and boosters are ripe for making that investment in student-athletes. Come be a big fish in a small pond.

@Nebraska55fan  @ColoradoHusk  Who is the top Big Ten coach for pay and what does he make?

Something that is frustrating in this is that Nebraska baseball probably doesn't have the same type of income as an SEC team, even though we have lots of fans at home games, because we have fewer home games, correct?

I think I saw something where Michigan's coach is at the top and around $850K.

    Any help?

Looks like a 2/3 seed team I think 2023 may be the year Nebraska makes run with Hood and Christo have a year under them and Anderson and Matthews are juniors.

I think Shanaman will stay as the Sunday starter with Perry on Friday and Christo on Saturday. As mentioned it would be awesome to go Povich, Perry, Christo with Shanaman and Olson as the midweek starters.

It was a heck of a season!!!

After watching how we were treated I hope we boo arky out of Omaha if they make it. Very poor behavior by their players, the first base coach and their fans.

Absolute intolerable character for a DVH team.

The razorbacks should be treated with the same when and if they reach Omaha.

Yes- Spread the message. Time to return the favor to Arky fans in Omaha. The way husker fans and team were treated was comparable to trips I made to Boulder in the ‘90s.
