  1. Last year I watched quite a few B1G baseball games on Big ten network, I was pretty impressed with the amount of games they had on both live and on replays. I can't wait til baseball season. Hope we roll through the conf.
  2. Kind of what I was thinking too. Not anything concrete but may get a little clarification. At this point that is better than nothing. It sure would be nice to get some big recruits to commit or land some big name coach or anything to fill the void until the bowl but we will just have to wait!
  3. I have heard that we will have the first actual media access to the team today in quite a while. First of all is this true? Secondly what are we going to find out from this access if it is in fact true? I doubt we get anything of substance but on my wish list would be progress of young and redshirted players as well as what the process of filling the coaching staff is looking like. In all reality I would say it will look more like Chevy Chase's presser on "Spies Like Us" but lets hope not! What do you think?
  4. Whatever happens it would be nice to know sooner rather than later in my opinion (not that it means anything). I would think what ever move they make whether it be hire from within or an outside hire it would benefit all involved to have it be soon. Recruiting and acclimation to the defensive system could really be taking place over the next month of practices getting ready for the bowl game.
  5. I was more concerned with how it fit into the city. Not really as concerned with how the actual structure looks. I really like how it fits into the haymarket as well as the additional shops around the arena. Hopefully it is the great destination year round it appears to be shaping up to be!
  6. With the Naming rights being announced today I though I would post a pretty cool video of how it will all look when it is done. I thought this video did a good job. Not sure if this had been posted before but thought I would share. Thanks Enjoy
  7. I didn't see most of the game myself, but it sounds like MSU put 8, 9 and 10 in the box, and blitzed almost every play daring OSU to pass. Seemed to work pretty well for them as they had 9 sacks. Granted our secondary may not be able to handle it.
  8. I sit row 90 in the middle of north stadium. In some aspects I really like sitting on the endzones high up as you can really see the plays develop and the running lanes open up. The only things that suck about our seats is the big jumbotron is above us so you can't see replays very well as the 4 smaller screens are not angled well to be seen from our seats that and the issue of accessability as you can't get out to get food or get to the bathroom very easily, also after the game is a nightmare. I honestly can't say I have ever had a bad seat in the stadium. The only time that could fall into this category was I sat way up under the east canopy once and you could not see kicks and punts. Even that time I was just glad to be at the game.
  9. I just hope this anger Tmart has does not translate to him trying to do more on the football field. Maybe I am in the minority here but I would like to see Tmart distribute the ball more to other playmakers. There is not question that Tmart is a great talent in that he has good straight line speed but he seems to get in trouble when trying to make the big play on every snap. There are other guys that can take it to the house on any given play other than Tmart. Enunwa, Turner, Abdullah, Green, Burkhead, Heard, Bell etc all have that ability, we need to get the ball in the hands of the best person that particular play to get the job done. I hope this team is mad for how they played in Madison but they can't use that anger to press and try to do too much and that is on the coaches as much as it is on the players for the rest of the year. I think we all have a pretty good feel for what we have on this team and we need to play to the strengths. Passing is not a strength and may never be under Tmart which is ok. No matter how good they may feel about the ability to throw we need to keep in on the ground as much as possible. I remember games in the past with Jamal Lord where we maybe only threw 6 or 10 times a game because the coaching staff didn't feel comfortable with it. Need to throw when we want to and not when we have to. So the staff gets a mulligan in Madison from me, but it is on you the rest of the way. Call a good game that puts what you have in the best position to make plays. Don't try to do too much or get caught up with trying to keep up with the opponent. This goes both offensively and defensively.
  10. I will have to give it a try, thanks for the advise. Just trying to find a place with good food, drinks and lots of big TV's!
  11. Hey Huskerboard, Looks like I will be in the Okoboji, IA area a weekend or two this fall and was looking for good places to watch the Husker game. There are several sports bars listed on the website but I just didn't know if one was better or if anybody had any recommendations? Thank you for any ideas! GBR!
  12. And zero game time experience. From what I have heard he is going to be very good but with any young guy there are going to be mistakes. Obviously you want to play the best players, without a doubt, but there is something to having been in the trenches in game action for a year or two before you are the guy starting. Playing as a freshman is different than starting. I think it is advantageous to allow young guys to get experience both in practice and games bringing them along before they are starting. Looking at that list of the pipeline guys who started 2 and 3 years they all had playing experience before they were starters as they lettered all 4 years and some may have redshirted. In a perfect world it would be nice to have experienced upperclassmen starting every year and have young guys coming off the bench. Zach Weigert lettered 4 years and started 3 Aaron Taylor lettered 4 and started 3 Eric Anderson lettered 4 and started 3 Aaron Graham lettered 4 and started 3 Rob Zatechka lettered 4 and started 2 Jon Zatechka lettered 4 and started 2 Brenden Stai lettered 4 and started 2 Chris Dishman lettered 4 and started 2 The ones that started 2 played in all or most of the games their Sophomore years. Hoskinson is a boob! There is only one true freshman starting and he was here in January so he's been in the program for 8 months already or the equivalent of a guy coming in in August and getting through spring practice . . .or as you put it...that year of development.
  13. I think it is good for young guys to earn letters and get experience but I don't think it is a good place to be in to be regularly starting true freshman on the offensive line. I would rather have a guy come in redshirt mature physically and learn the offense gaining experience and play as a RS soph etc. Granted if you get a guy like Will Shields you get him on the field asap. I think the over all point is I hope we get to a place where we are deep enough and talented enough that we don't need Freshman to play as we have experienced and talented guys ready to go already in the system.
  14. Matt Hoskinson was on Schick and Nick this morning and he had a good point saying back in the days of the pipeline freshman really didn't come ready to play. It was very rare for a Freshman or Sophomore to play. They needed time in the system to learn how to play and to mature. I really hope we are getting the types of numbers and talent on the offensive line now to allow these young guys to play for a few years and keep recruiting talent behind them so when they graduate we will have Jr's and Sr's to replace them and the pipeline continues. The offense will only go as far as this offensive line will take them.
  15. It looks like the UT Chat depth chart is out!!! Looks like what we thought it would be. Linky treat
  16. So there was the big hubbub over the job posting on the UNL website for an Offensive coach, which is understandable. My question is if there are legal requirements to have jobs posted for so long or what ever why is there not a job posting for the Defensive openings that we know for sure exist? Seems strange to me, what say you?
  17. From what I can tell, the visiting team sits in the South end of the West Stadium.
