  1. This being NU's first big game, if it's close I would think this is the time to leave Tmart in for a whole game. Inevitably he's going to make more frosh mistakes (like fumbling instead of taking a sack), but the only way to get over those is more snaps. I don't get this putting Cody Green in, in a scripted way in the 2nd quarter. Time to focus on the true starter? In a big game like this one, do you think Bo leaves Tmart in until it's mop-up time? And if it's close, and there is no mop-up time, does Bo leave Tmart in the whole game?
  2. My caveat: there ain't but one Udub (U of Wyoming), and one pretender (U of Wisconsin). U of Washington doesn't even make the list.
  3. I remember those days - especially the painfully slow secondary and linebackers. TO got that fixed by, let's see, '93, if memory serves. At least that's one thing we don't have to worry about anymore.
  4. We crush Wash, this should change next week, by maybe a place or two.
  5. Good points, all. I think someone said that Robinson is Michigan's whole offense, whereas we have a few other weapons. Along those lines, I wonder when Bo is going to turn a whole game over to Tmart, not sharing time with Cody Green ...? I also thought Michigan and ND looked very slow. Going to be fun in the B10 next year against plodders like that, me thinks.
  6. Caught a bit of the ND-Michigan game (always awesome when ND goes down to another heartbreaking defeat), and it occured to me watching Denard Robinson make mincemeat of the Notre Dame D that he's a good model for Tmart. Super mobile, fantastic arm. I used to think Tyrod Taylor might be a good prototype but since yesterday's, er, not-so-hot performance, I'm retooling. Thoughts?
  7. Yeah, Jamrog said he almost had one signed. But I thought the Boise deal was dead after they wanted a million clams to come to Lincoln. It'd be cool to play on the smurf turf but this announcement, if true, comes at a fairly inopportune time, given VA Tech's loss ...
  8. Here's hoping you're right. If they're gonna fix up those glaring mental errors, next week would be a good time to start.
  9. That looks horribly like a stat from last year ... and against freakin Idaho. :hmmph
  10. And Minnesota lsing to SD ... Brewster promised a win by 21. At least Turner stuck in the face of the haters.
  11. Agreed. I'm thinking of dialing down my expectations for the season.
  12. I'm only listening on the radio so it's hard to tell for sure but it doesn't sound like, for whatever reason, this team has it. A championship team would have scored both times inside the redzone. To say nothing of losing in the 2nd half.
  13. I'm having horrible flashbacks to last year and an incompetent O ...
  14. According to the radio, some firefighters and policemen came out in uniform before the players. Also, they showed TMart's 2nd TD from last week on the video. :bigredn:
  15. Compare Zac to that whiner Tate Forcier at Michigan - we're lucky to have a stand-up guy like him, who appears to be taking his demotion like a man and doing what's best for the team.
  16. Very good post with a realistic goal. But I'm slamming down the kool-aid and I see our offense being devastating to opponents this year. We're in the hunt! Yes, very realistic. But I'm chugging that Kool-aid too and thinking about how NU can go all the way this year. With as rough a schedules as we have coming up in the very near future, now's as good a time as any!
  17. Thanks for posting this. Nothing like some cold, hard stats to tamp down the early season hyperventilating.
