  1. I have $20 to send in to Bo if he gets fined. I don't blame the Aggies. If you saw a suitcase of money on the ground, would you take it? Well, maybe YOU wouldn't, but the Aggies clearly would, and did. Anyway, this wasn't about them. This was about screwing us over one more time. Weren't these refs the same ones who called the CCG last year? I thought I recognized some weasely faces out there.
  2. I've never bought into the conspiricacy theories. Until tonight. I don't blame the Aggies, btw. They just happened to be the team there to take advantage of the lickspittle refs on the phone with Dan Beebe.
  3. The game is self-explanatory. I hope Pelini runs up a 50k fine at the presser. No sane fan could watch this game and conclude otherwise. Screw em. Screw em straight to hell.

  6. i guess we're screwed this week! BBHMM-"Bitch Better Have My Money"--a term used by Cecil Newton when pimping his son, Cam, out to the various schools :laughpound :laughpound
  7. We share a common source of funding - the Permanent University Fund - which comes from oil money. The legislature apparently threatens to pull the PUF or distribute it to additional schools when A&M and UT start talking about splitting up. Nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors, but the common knowledge is that the powers that be want us together. Who really knows what the heck is going on though! I think we'd be just fine in different conferences, especially if we kept an out-of-conference rivalry game going. Yeah, I think it'd be alright too. In any case I think the Little 10 is doomed to have a very short lifespan, whatever happens, so you may get your wish regardless!
  8. Now where's the fun in that? It's not college football unless you have a couple near heart attacks and break out in a sweat at least once! Or maybe that's just applicable to Aggie football fans...it's been a rough decade. I hear you, but what with the Iowa State game and all, I don't know if I can take much more stress. I'd like a nice, fun blowout. Where you can enjoy your 2nd half beers in peace, rather than choking on them. Btw, be good if TAMU eventually secedes to the SEC. Get out from under TXass's thumb. Just hope you can hang when you get down there. Just so you know we've never been under Texas' thumb, and never will be. The A&M College of Texas is the oldest institute of higher learning in the state of Texas, not UT. The state has an Aggie governor, Austin has an Aggie mayor, the US Secretary of Defense was the A&M President when I was in school. The two universities are the only two recipeints of the Texas PUF. If they want to go be independent, more power to them, but remember the teams who benefited most from the Big 12's unequal revenue sharing were Texas, OU, A&M and Nebraska. I'm just talking football here - could care less about politics. As long as you guys stay in the LIttle 10, you'll be under TXass's thumb. The sycophants up north here will be sucking up to TX even more now because they're so scared they're going to have to join Conference USA if TX bolts - TX is pretty much running a protection racket on that front. To say nothing of the other little guys down south, Ttech and Baylor. The Little 10 is a TX-sponsored joke, as of next year. I think TAMU to the SEC would be very interesting. But according to my understanding - a very limited one, since I have zero interest in the state - isn't it true that the politics of the state of Texas prevent TAMU and TX from being separated?
  9. Nice finds. Some much-needed perspective, for me at least.
  10. So, making sure your only QB that with experience that can play isn't broken in a game against a bad team is "half-assing it?" Bull freaking crap. The entire offensive gameplan was geared towards getting TM reps, while also keeping him safe. We're gonna have to chuck the ball next week to have any shot at a W. Lee is done for the year. Green was borderline concussed, and wasn't going to play. If TM gets knocked out, it would have been Zac in handoff only mode, and either the Rex Wildcat show, or walk-on Ron Kellogg. Martinez had the clamps put on him for the first half, and he begged to run some in the second. It's called getting a W in a body bag game, and making sure your QB makes it through ok. So when Taylor handed the ball off to Helu and our line not only got zero push, but got stuffed, that's OK with you? I have no problem with the kid gloves for Taylor. I have no problem grasping the tenuous nature of our QB situation. But that does not explain everything we saw. That was clearly a team taking it easy, and if that's acceptable for the team it's acceptable for the fans. We don't have two standards here. It's hard to get a push when the KU D knows what's coming. We ran like what, 10 plays? We got a lead and sat on it, by design. Is that taking it easy, or playing it safe? Whether it's taking it easy or playing it safe, the end result is it's boring football. And you cannot expect the fans to cheer like we're in a dogfight when we're playing boring football. It's playing it safe, imo. And therefore, unsurpringly, boring. Frustrating, even.
  11. Like Devaney??? Oh wait...... Devaney was charismatic. Personality goes a long way.
  12. This. The dead deities must be appeased.

  14. Part of the article: I pretty much agree with this sentiment: Bo's the one making the $2 million a year. He damn well better be able to stand some criticism. Look, I think Bo's a great coach; 9-1 testifies to that. I'm not complaining. I just wish he'd have a little more respect for the program, for its traditions, for the ones who are ultimately paying his salary. You and me, I mean. Take the whole Turner Gill thing, and the end of over a century of playing KU. "I don't care about that," he said (I'm paraphrashing.) "We're moving on. And Turner Gill - whatever - it's just another game." But to the fans - us - it's not just another game. Turner is one of the all-time Husker icons. It did mean a lot to see him return (maybe that had something to do with the crowd noise ...?). And all those long years of playing Kansas, well, I don't know about you, but I'm a little sad about all those traditions going by the wayside, although I think the move to the B10 is both brilliant and necessary for NU. Bottom line: Bo could throw us, the fans, a bone. This "us against the world" stuff is wearing thin. How hard would it be to just be a little more respectful, be a little less of a leashed mad dog all the freakin' time? And does anyone else think that maybe, just maybe, Bo's teams come out playing flat all on a fairly regular basis is because of Bo never has any middle gears? Can 18- to 22-year olds - hell, can anybody - really be 100% on, all the time, and at the same time know that if they don't meet Bo's standards of perfection, knowing they could yanked at any time, play with confidence and fired-up enthusiasm? Just some thoughts. Bo's here to win. I understand that. I'm sure as hell glad he's doing it, compared to where we were just a few years ago. But would it kill him to have a little more respect, to be, well, a little more Nebraskan? GBR!
  15. I hope it's a good game for about one half of one quarter. chuckleshuffle
  16. He's technically a graduate assistant, much like TO was when he was getting his PhD I believe. While his title is offensive quality control, he spends the majority of his time in practice with the tight ends and fullbacks/h-backs. On gamedays he's the one that signals in plays and or formations to the offense. Interesting. Thanks for letting us know. All the best to him. After Saturday, of course.
  17. According to the Aggies website, he's still on the Support Staff Aggie Athletics Yep, Zac was a rare ray of light in that dark, dark era. What a competitor, to have done as well as he did, all things considered. Glad to see he's still in football. Although what the hell does Offensive Quality Control mean?
  18. Or you don't want to give an inferior team a chance for a short field and score. An inferior team that we absolutely shut down? I say go for it, go for the kill and establish dominance. I got drilled last week for bringing up the fact that our coaching staff seems to coach not to lose instead of coaching to win and now all of a sudden a bunch of people agree with me... Where were all of you last week? I was with you in spirit. This play not to lose stuff is seriously frustrating for a fan. Where's the pride, man? Get out there and break some heads, every single week. Why the hell not?
  19. Yeah, I think it'd be great. I don't understand the people who hate GameDay around here. Great pub.
  20. We learned that once again the coaching staff played not to lose, rather than to win, as far as the O goes. I don't know what this means, exactly, but from a fan perspective, it's disheartening. The O lacked heart tonight. Hardly the first time this year. This team is having a great year but not a championship year and this is why, imo.

+1 The O lacked heart tonight. They've lacked heart a lot of times this year. Not sure why this is, who to blame it on. So we're having a good year. But not a NC championship year. And this may very well be why.
