  1. I wouldn't doubt if someone from the Texas staff sent her that.
  2. Randy for sure...not Dennard even though he was great at Nebraska.
  3. I'd guess at least 2 more...with a new WR coach I could see one more WR leave along with a DB and OL
  4. Well, this is embarrassing. Ohio St 20 (2022) Michigan 9 (2022) Iowa 6 (2022) Wisconsin 5 (2021) Penn St 4 (2022) Michigan St 3 (2016) Northwestern 2 (2021) Maryland 2 (2018) Illinois 2 (2012) Purdue 1 (2022) Minnesota 1 (2021) Nebraska 0 (2011) Rutgers 0 (2010) Indiana 0 (1994)
  5. Mathis's mom seems to point to Nebraska but I've seen this before where it seems we have the momentum and all the fans respond on Twitter to only get kicked in the nuts...reading between the lines though it seems Mathis is N bound.
  6. Drew will be a good addition for the Rogers departure. 5th year guy with experience on the DL
  7. I agree. He would hold up better than Tannor of course in a 3-4 set. I know we opened with 4 DL a few times last year including Michigan with...Nelson, Stille, Robinson, Tannor. But again this would put Tannor as the odd man out from a 'starting' standpoint. I know we can view this is a rotation but kids have always cared who is the first and most frequent out there
  8. Be interesting to see where we put Mathis IF we get him. Chins says. he wants to be 3-4 mainly with the nickel package like we saw last year. If that is the case then Nelson needs to be moved back to DE with Tannor and Mathis at OLB.
  9. I agree...losing him matters regardless what anyone says. Especially for depth since Lord knows we have injuries left and right on this team
  10. For the record only one person is left and he could also be leaving...
  11. You usually don't bring kids in from the portal unless they are on the 2 deep...only Stepp and Morton are the only two I could see not being at least backups. Again, I think the portal/NIL is good for Nebraska. I just think we lost out on so many kids on offense we are now scrambling to gel things together.
  12. ...The Transfer Portal. Couple that with NIL and this is the path the coaches see how we return to winning 9+ games again. It will be hard to do this year with all the new faces in players and coaches, but if you look at our roster it is pretty crazy how many transfers we have on this team -- especially on offense. I don't count jucos but put them in there for reference as some do. Offense could see up to 8 starters that were transfers. Casey Thompson Chubba Purdy Travis Vokolek Hunter Anthony Kevin Williams Nouredin Nouili Trey Palmer Oliver Martin Markese Stepp Isaiah Garcia-Castaneda Anthony Grant - juco Omar Manning - juco ----------------------------------- Chris Kolarevic Tyreke Johnson Tommi Hill Omar Brown Eteva Mauga-Clements - juco DeShon Singleton - juco Javier Morton - juco ----------------------------------- Brian Buschini (p) Timmy Bleekrode (k) Brady Weas (ls) Projected 2 deep transfers o/d: Iowa - 1 Northwestern - 3 Wisconsin - 4 Minnesota - 7 Illinois - 10 Purdue - 12
  13. Pola-Gates Smothers Stepp Newsom Wildeman Conn Lynn Hardy
  14. We got a little bigger, but also slower I agree. Also I've noted many times all the injuries we've had.
  15. The starting line will be fine IMO once Teddy and Turner return. Overall the depth isn't the best so a few extra bodies couldn't hurt. There will be some kids hitting the portal soon. Voke will basically be an extra blocker many times on run downs which will also help. The spring game was so worthless it was hard to get a good read on anything - also the coaches didn't show any new offense that we will see come fall. Get Mathis and we have a good front 7 to compete. The DBs will be the question mark this year on the defense, but being in the B10 West that is my least concern.
  16. He has 15.5 sacks in 3 years of playing...covid also cut short 2 games in 2020 *5 per year* We only had 1 player have over 2 sacks last year (Nelson with 5) It would help us move to some 4 man fronts if we have him. Interchange with Nelson/Tannor/Gunnerson
  17. I obviously want to land Mathis but what does that do for this defense when our best 2 players seem to be OLBs at this point? If we are primarily in a 3-4 I'm not sure he is big enough to start on the DL. Almost would have to move Nelson to DE imo I'll also say again we have more injured players than other other B10 team until someone proves me wrong.
  18. I have said since day 1 that Hutmacher should be an OG - not DT.....people on here seemed to disagree on that.
  19. Possibly...but he didn't state the reason. Anymore I could care less about these type of kids who don't work out for whatever reason. We have wasted so much time and energy caring. Give me anyone else who wants to be a dawg. I'm over it.
  20. If it was "right now" I guess it could be grades then.
  21. "No longer with the team" doesn't sound like grades but hopefully that's the case I guess....Kids are softer than butter these days so wouldn't doubt some tough coaching made him bounce.
  22. I'm aware he is hurt, but he made it seem like he's just another tight end on the team...
