  1. Great pictures as usual! Felt like I was there! Hope to see you all some time next year!
  2. Hard to believe that the regular season is coming to an end, isn't it? Last home game for the seniors and such mixed emotions! I hope the crowd is really into it and show the team that we are behind them 100%! Since I can't be there and there's no TV coverage......I'll be in Pittsburgh on a shopping spree. My "good son" will be keeping me up-to-date via cell phone though on the game and score. Have a great tailgate party. Have one for me! You guys are the best and sure make everybody feel welcome! Get things started and don't let up once you're in the stadium! I hope they play like we know they can play.........this is Big Red football! And there is No Place Like Nebraska! GO BIG RED!!
  3. We all care too much! That's why everybody is in such turmoil! We have been spoiled for too many years, and all of a sudden the "rug is pulled from under us"! I remember clear back to the Championship teams of the 70's. What tradition and pride! Losing wasn't even an option.......we just always won! Boys grew up wanting to play for Nebraska their whole lives! How many walk-ons did we have because Nebraska was "the place to be"? The coaches really cared about the players and they seemed like such a "family". I think we let the "outsiders" take control. Bill doesn't have that Big Red blood in his veins and no matter what, he isn't going to have the same feeling that we do! It's kind of like living here in Ohio....the Buckeyes have the same tradition etc, but it's something that I don't understand like the way I understand Big Red football. I'm frustrated just like everybody else is, but I will support Big Red football forever! We need to show those boys that we're behind them all the way no matter what! Here's to a Big Red victory on Saturday!
  4. Have a great time you guys! Wish we could be there! It was nice meeting you at the Pitt game.......maybe we can get together in Pittsburgh one of these years soon again!
  5. Eric.........I say go for it! Wasn't it Grant Wistrom who chanted the Tunnel Walk lyrics? Might rekindle some of the old days and bring out the magic that Tunnel Walk does for us! Wrestlers have superstitions and why can't we? (My son swore he had to have a certain kind of cereal for tournaments!) Put that jersey on, Eric, and be proud! Yell for all of us who can't be there! ( I do have an old Johnny Rodgers shirt I could get out! )
  6. You guys are absolutely right! WE ARE NEBRASKA and no matter what, we need to support those guys! Show them how much we care. Unfortunately I'll be stuck here in Ohio, but I'll do my part out here. I'll have the 'N' flag out, my 'N' tree lit up, and my 'N' clothes on! Rock that stadium like it's never been rocked before.........and don't let up! We are part of that team, and we need to do our part......and that means keeping our pride and tradition alive! Go Big Red!!
  7. Almost the opposite for me. My husband will watch a game now with us, but there was a day he could have cared less. Being an Air Force child, I guess he didn't get to pick a favorite team. One time while we were dating, I wanted to watch the NU game, and he got mad and went out to sit on the porch! (He sat a long time...........!) Have you ever taken your wives to a game? MIght change their minds. Maybe they would see what we see!
  8. Amen! I'm sure EVERY fan was upset over Saturday's loss, but that doesn't make us "bad fans". I don't like to hear about "fans" throwing things on the field, or booing anybody! Like you, I've been spoiled for the past several years. I started back in the late 60's and we didn't lose! It wasn't even something we thought about. We knew we were going to win! Such pride and tradition! I'm not sure where the problems lie........ Playing for Nebraska is something most of those guys have wanted to do their whole lives, so I can't imagine they don't really "want it". I still kind of believe BC is an "outsider" and just doesn't have "Big Red blood" in his veins. I say....let's support them, no matter what, and continue the tradition and pride we've had for all these years! Go Big Red!
  9. Yep! That's what I plan to do! $19.99 ESPN Game Day. Much better picture too than Fox! Go Big Red!
  10. I know..........sorry. I posted in the wrong place.
  11. Most of you all are probably too young to remember this, but the NU/OU game used to be played on Thanksgiving Day years ago! I remember watching as a little girl with my family. Does anybody remember the early 70's when Johnny Rodgers ran backwards past the OU bench for a touchdown? And listening to Lyle Bremser on the radio was the best! "Man, woman, and child.......did you see him run?" What tradition and pride and memories! Something we have always had and always will have! Go Big Red!

  14. Just freakin' great! Thanks for the info though........
  15. * I live in eastern Ohio. * I was born and raised in Omaha, but have lived here almost 30 years. * Omaha, I really miss the city! And my family. * I love the Bahamas. We were there our first time on Sept. 11, 2001. 2nd time was much better! * I am a Medical Assistant/Office Manager in an Optometry office. * Best job: Being a Mom! Although my boys are 23 & 26 and all grown up! * I love sports, especially Nebraska football. I was a football, wrestling, baseball Mom and loved every minute of it! * I really love Nebraska football and have tons of bumper stickers, newspaper articles, magazines, souveniers clear back from the late 60's. My son wants to know if I'll "will" them to him! * Huskerboard is a really good place to visit! The guys are great too. I got to meet them at the NU/Pitt tailgate party. * How many other females do we have?
  16. Does anybody know about the game this weekend? I know it's on ABC, but what does Split National mean?
  17. HSKRNOKC: Enjoy every minute of it. Our boys played football, baseball, and wrestled. Wouldn't trade a minute of it for anything. As parents, we are so proud of our kids, no matter what. I have so many memories, especially in wrestling. You "win" with them, and you "lose" with them! You're there for them no matter what. You sound like a great Dad and mentor! You still have some time left. My boys are grown up and my oldest son actually helps coach varsity wrestling at his high school. Couldn't be a prouder Mom!
  18. NU 21 MU 7 Rushing 150 Passing 250 We are the Big Red, and we're back..........
  19. I always wear a Nebraska T shirt, hang my flag out, (usually on Fridays), light my Big Red Christmas tree, and get ready for the game. I like to listen to the pregame show via internet! My son and I call each other several times during the game. He was a wrestler and is very superstitous. He wears his T-shirt and Blackshirt cap to work every Saturday. He's a bartender here in Ohio, and is determined to make it a Husker Nation!
  20. You took the words right out of my mouth! Seriously....very well said. We have a tradition, and that's what it all comes down to. We are THE BIG RED!
  21. Very poor quality! Happened to me before with FSN. I think they know they have you hooked into buying it, so.........who cares? I can't resist buying it! Maybe I'll try complaining to Directv! The announcers were terrible. Rudd instead of Ruud. You'd think they would at least look over their paper work! I've tried listening to Pinnacle Sports with the volume down, but they're about 3 seconds behind, so that doesn't work!
  22. Thanks! nu4everfan15.........that appears to be what he described! Didn't think it would be that simple. Thanks again........
  23. My son saw a T-shirt at the NU/Pitt game. Wonder if anybody knows where we can get one? He said it is a red shirt with "Got Corn" on the front.
  24. You're letting a little old 2 bone ankle break keep you home? Just kidding! Take it easy and get better! Hopefully you can get it on TV. Just don't be trying to jump up and down during the game! My Mom decided to get a kidney stone 2 years ago, and kept us from the game! (One other question: did you catch the pass?)
  25. I have Directv.......channel 783. Hope it helps you!
