That's the problem - we don't have better. And we haven't gone out and gotten better, which may be what you're hinting at. Seems our coaching staff went "all-in" on martinez what were our options? Carnes? Lol. green? He was more interested in girls. Lee? He graduated. Who on our roster could have come in and lead us to wins against UCLA and OSU? Well, if we actually let our other QBs see the field we might have an idea of what we have. This is what we do know. We have a QB who is average at best.

Taylor's Ohio State, Michigan State, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, and Missouri wins, off the top of my head, were against "nobody" opponents? Not sure if being sarcastic or....

Taylor always has the hiccups in the big games I don't blame Tommie Armstrong if he wants to transfer. This coaching staff has babied Taylor since he started his first game here and nothing is going to change until he graduates. Hell, Taylor could throw 6 picks in a game and there would be no sign of giving someone else a chance.

Another guy I would take a look at is David Cutcliffe from Duke. He's turning that ball club around.

Call me crazy, but I'd go after Mike Price from UTEP. He played Oklahoma close this year.

I don't think this is the case. Who calls the plays on defense? I just figured Paps does since he is the D-cord. Maybe i'm wrong.

But we don't need a QB (in the traditional sense) to win the B1G. We need our offensive coordinator to use the strengths of the athlete we have at QB and, more importantly, hide his weaknesses (which are well-documented). Without those first two interceptions (for which I place 80% of the blame on Beck, for reasons described above), Taylor is 15 of 23 (65%) for 214 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT. That isn't bad against a defense like Ohio St. We need an actual QB if we ever want to win big ball games. I agree that Beck usually has no idea what he is doing, but even if we had a good OC I still would not feel comfortable with Taylor as our QB. It is embarrassing that Taylor is in his 3rd year as a starter and still can't make correct reads. He just isn't fit to be a D1 QB.

With or without Beck, Taylor Martinez isn't a QB. I can't believe that there is no other QB on this team that isn't as good as Taylor, or if not better. Is Bo and Co scared they are going to hurt feelings or what?

Coaching has a lot to do with it, you are right, but if you honestly think we have the right players to win a conference championship/BCS game then you are only lying to yourself about this football team. This football team is an average Big 10 football team and here's a newsflash for you, an average team in the Big10 isn't very good.

A lot of our problems goes back to our recruiting and recruiting philosophies. How is it we can't get big time recruits to come play football at Nebraska? Offer them a new Cadillac Escalade or something. It works at Alabama and every other SEC school.
