  1. The older balls are more grippy actually. I think Bo should find some of those $3 Walmart rubber footballs, maybe put a little bit of grease on them and have the team practice with those.
  2. I will never miss or respect CU, their program, or their fan base. All the other Big 8 teams I will miss.
  3. Lol With his unique knack for running a bad PR campaign taking little shots at schools (NU), Dan would make for an excellent Mizzou or Colorado Athletic Director perhaps...
  4. Let this old sack say whatever he wants. Hooligans on the loose! Suspect is a male or female, somewhere between the height of 4'3 and 6'10, last seen wearing a red shirt. If any information is available, contact authorities immediately.
  5. Group of 10, we all got student tickets, goin down early saturday
  6. Engel's just a butthurt Mizzou fan. Pay no attention to her whining, she's just trying to take one last parting shot at us (since the Tigers were unable to and all)
  7. I must know the story behind this lol Hehe wow, it is probably buried well within Rumorville now (is that even still accessable?). Long story short, in the before time, in the long long ago, when Pelini's coming here was just a rumor, someone claimed to have heard from Bo's "saltwater aquarium guy" that he needed to move his aquarium and reef and whatnot to Nebraska... or something very much like that. So if you ever see someone say anything about a "saltwater aquarium guy," it's a euphemism for, well, "highly unsubstantiated, 9th hand rumor." Oh wow, that is awesome, thanks! Absolutely hilarious lol... makes me wonder if, and why, bo has a saltwater aquarium.
  8. lol, come on Eddie. Someone didn't do their research for that piece...
  9. it could be a lot worse... LandThieves, I have always had all the respect in the world for OU and I am deeply sad to be parting ways. Good Luck saturday. (but better luck to us!)
  10. asinine scheduling? this deal to put this game in Arlington was made years ago. Nobody knew it would be NU vs OU. Besides, playing OU in arrowhead is not a tradition (or a thing that has happened very much at all, ever, really) so idk what this thread is all about. I don't care where we beat Oklahoma. Texas is fine with me.
  11. A passionate coach in a big game in a hostile environment, locked in a defensive battle where one call can make a huge difference in the game. Huge pressure situation in a program that puts such a huge emphasis on winning, you're trying to get your schemes and game plan right, deal with an injured quarterback, deal with boneheaded mistakes by your players, and on top of that there is the huge penalty disparity and huge calls that cost us greatly. Say whatever you want about the conference change and bad calls and whatnot, but anyone in that situation would be stressed out and downright furious. I know I was outraged at home on my couch, let alone dealing with all this crap in front of 90,000 screaming people. Go get 'em Bo. edit: are we REALLY at the point where we lose by a field goal late in the 4th quarter on the road to a top 20 team because of a blown call, and we start comparing Bo to Bill Callahan? How f'ing stupid are you people...
  12. I will miss the old rivalries. The Big 10 is a great conference, but come early November next year I have the feeling that I'll really miss some of the old matchups, even as exciting as the next season will be. Being fairly young, the Big 12 (and like 2-3 years of Big 8) is all I can really remember and it is already sad knowing all of that tradition is gone. Still, I'm looking forward to playing Iowa every year and for all the benefits that come with the Big 10.
  13. I'd like to say that during my time here(current senior, cally's last year was my fresh. yr), the student section has been abysmal. HALF OF THE STUDENT SECTION are fair-weather frat and sorority idiots that show up drunk and just complain the whole time. Lots don't even pay attention to the game. I've only been to one game where I felt like the student section was great, and that was Missouri this year. When it is cold, people don't show up, or leave early. (Many left at half last game) This was a realization that became painfully evident Saturday when Kansas got a 1st down on like their 2nd offensive play of the game, and already the student section was basically booing. Seriously? This isn't the Callahan era anymore. Show up and cheer for the Huskers, since WE ACTUALLY HAVE stuff to cheer for now. It just dawned on me that I ended up hating the student section nearly every single game. (Plus, we can't even clap to the beat of the band or the tunnel walk. How goddamn hard is that?) Sorry for the rant. I would have loved to be in the student section in the 90s, I can't imagine what that was like.
  14. Absolutely awesome article. Im glad his coaching career has taken off but I wish he could still be on our staff.
  15. I'm a student; we have been standing and cheering for alex to make his pregame warmup 62-yarder since the Idaho game.
  16. I think there's a decent chance we get Ron Franklin and Ed the moral crusader Cunningham. Again. Anything been released about the broadcasting assignments yet?
  17. This, shaggybevo is a complete mess right now
  18. I'll vote for Rex's run against Washington where it looked like he was buried and then suddenly burst out for the score
  19. The first 3 series, with the two Mizzou 3-and-outs and the Helu first play TD run...our cathedral was going absolutely nuts. But the explosion that happened after that goal line stand takes the cake. Even North Stadium and the club seats were going crazy which is something I rarely see. Another thing was that after our 2nd TD, about 3/4 of the crowd did the students hand-waving thing which surprised me too
  20. Streak over. Looking forward to more big wins in the future.
  21. Of course the "top 20" number is arbitrary. But point is, only Duke has a streak that matches ours in this category. And that is pretty awful. As much as we've been saying Nebraska is back, the team hasn't done anything to prove so in TEN YEARS. I'm not saying we will lose Saturday because of it, I am just pointing out that we have a really good opportunity to break the streak, and at the same time we should not take a game like this lightly.
